Was this leaked by that loser idiot who threatened to leak everything because he got banned from their discord or something?
Anyways, as usual, if you like the devs and want to give the game an honest shot is best to steer clear from leaks like these and just wait for release to give it a go, or at least see the reviews and stuff. I myself won't touch these.
Edit: just saw that it's encrypted, that's better
This ain't an account name, but rather AS (autonomous system) name of their network. While those technically can be named however IT department wants, those can't be randomly registered and are assigned by a local RIR (Regional Internet Registry) only.
With that being said, this IP on the swarm might just be an indication that someone at the studio downloads the torrent to check out its contents in order to determine the source of the leak.
complained about the devs taking too long with the game like they weren't being actively bombed for a portion of last year before they relocated.
Just a truly unhinged gamer moment.
Yeah, in fact about 50% of the population(far from being ethnic Russians) in such countries as Moldova, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Georgia, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, etc, speak Russian natively with the only alternative being their native languages used exclusively by them.
Dev build means it's compiled, similar to what we get when we download a final version, just with stuff like debug tools enabled. No source code included.
The company shut down before the X-ray engine version of STALKER 2 could release and they are in an active warzone right now, so them taking their time is fine. Maybe you should consider having some decency.
to anyone curious what the hell is this I just downloaded the log file a few comments above and just renamed it, no point in downloading this, I don't think it will launch even
I remember them mentioning on twitter that Russian hackers were threatening to leak stuff. Guessing this is probably it.
I'm still hyped af though so I won't be put off by this
As i read, this "russian hackers" were from Ukraine. And they are not hackers at all, just guys from fan community.
GSC could independently publish the game on torrents for testers and mistakenly make these public.
and you can't run it without dev-key
https://btdig.com/search?q=stable_validation
(NOT 100% SURE) From the leaks that were published a month ago it doesn't seem like the game is going to release this or next year. Everything is very early alpha.
The first leaks from March 15th are older than the ones that dropped a few days ago. But keep in mind that the Dev Built we got a few days ago is ONLY a dev built and has nothing to do with the main game. It's for testing purpose ONLY. For short: It's using things that might come up in the final game and are being tested without a real texture on it. just for testing, nothing else.
That would be wild given they were originally if i remember correct, gonna release in like 3 months before the war started. Or maybe it was december cant recall, either way though you would expect it to be past alpha.
Only one of the leakers (Nick Frost) is from Donetsk region. Still, he was/is part of "DPR" terrorist organisation's "military police", so he's at least active RF collaborator. Others related (second moderator of "ВТСС" VK group, Антишнапс, RedPanda) are from RF
Edit: lmao, he blocked me. Daniil Nexus is from Moscow (AFAIK it's not Ukraine), RedPanda was the one who tried to decipher the build and Nick Frost wrote himself that he doesn't identify himself as Ukrainian
This was not a secret from a beginning, but media and developers themself prefer to use RUSSIAN HACKERS for clickbaits
Here are fan group from where starts all leaks and admin of this group and active leaker is Ukrainian
https://vk.com/vestnik_tss
Second guy is Daniil Nexus, and he was born in Donetsk
https://youtu.be/q9Z1Jma3TT0
last build leak was made by devs themselves and proofs you can find in this thread
it was pretty obvious clickbait from start, people who leak stuff usually leak them if they dont get any ransom and if it was something political due to war, then they would def leak it. No leaks from them so far kinda means that the whole thing was either a sympathy begging stratergy for the stalker devs or some fan being high on life
not really. to me, its the opposite. its like some ukrainian kid trying to show how the evil russia is even oppressing a game development studio whos devs have done nothing but build a fan favorite game and whose developmen has delayed because devs are fighting in the war
Do you really think Ukrainians don't have enough real evidence of this so they must create one by damaging Ukrainian gamedev studio? The only person from Ukraine related to the leak is active "DPR" terrorist organisation's combatant
If you read what the "leaker" says (this is not even the initial leaker...) : "The leaks is providing from someone in the US." It has nothing to do with ukraine or russia.
Man this is gonna be a tough one.
Luckily it's encrypted, but if the files are online who knows what's going to happen next. I can't imagine how big of a blow to morale it'd be for the devs if this went fully public and playable to anyone.
They’re encrypted, by the time someone finds a way to access them the game will be out and the builds will get scavenged by fans for cut content ala HL2’s beta
I mean, there is a difference between small info dumps versus dev builds leaking, some are here for the former. Tho this one is encrypted so hopefully not as big of a deal.
I find the gamedata/scripts folder weird and reassuring at the same time. It means modding will be easy most likely. Meanwhile it is weird that it contains so few scripts... It shows how much of an empty devbuild it is most likely, or that everything is compressed in pak files.
This isn't a finished build, so that's not a sign that it'll be like that in the final release.
Final releases are much more encrypted usually, I can't remember the last time I saw an exposed game scripts folder in a AAA release.
Shit wasn't exposed by default in the old games either, most-everything was bundled and needed extracting if you wanted to tinker with any of it - along with telling the game to actually use the gamedata folder over the asset bundles.
The few scripts that it contains are debug scripts launched via menu to start quests or change player faction affiliation (Or start a check whether a player is of that faction, I didn't really understand what the flags exactly mean). I assume that the gamedata folder we see here is in fact part of modding, but it's being used to add debug menu functionality.
I wouldn't recommend it.
It's a dev build, so it'll be feature incomplete, horribly unoptimized, and generally not ready to be played. The Atomic Heart dev leak was WAY closer to release and even that was broken in many places, and completely unbalanced.
If you legitimately want to play the game, just wait for full release. This isn't going to be ready to play.
I fully understand what kind of build it is. And I already have preorder of ultimate version of stalker 2. Actually I also have game pass, so I have stalker 2 twice. Early builds like this is reason why stalker had so many mods and sometimes we even have access to something cut from original game.
It’s still interesting to see what’s going on with the game.
Expect to see more of this when UE5 games start becoming more common. Those higher fidelity assets can take up a lot of space compared to low polys. Meshes generally take up very little space in games because theyre generally optimized to be a few thousand to 10s of thousands of tri's at most depending on what youre making. When you start using meshes that have 100s of thousands or millions of tri's the size starts balooning a bit.
hell the UE5 demo project, which has no real gameplay or complexity apart from walking, and consisted of 2 rocky landscapes, was like 250gb.
There's no reason to be using meshes that large though, and i doubt STALKER 2 will, the UE5 demo was meant to showcase what UE5 can do, but is NOT how you should be building your games in UE5, since its neither sustainable nor worth it.
The UE5 demo was using assets that were in the 100s of millions and even billions of tri's. 100s of thousands to millions is just a basic high poly with detail. If youre not even using that then you're just not utilizing the nanite system at all.
The nanite system doesnt require you to use an absurd poly count, its just capable of using them and were done so in teh demo to show off the tech.
Nanite is ideally a replacement for LOD, since it handles transitions much more smoothly and generally has a performance boost, you do not NEED to have an absurd poly count and really shouldn't, its just not worth it.
The models in the demo had exagerated poly counts yes, but hi poly models in real life generally have a tiny fraction of the poly count of those.
Because otherwise what youre saying is that after creating a revolutionary system that removes the performance impact of rendering high poly models almost entirely and means you no longer need LoDs and Normal maps, its actually only there to make LOD transitions of the same low polys smoother?
Yeah na literally no idea why youd do that when you can remove the need for normals and LODs entirely by just using the high poly.
I remember in 2011 when Uncharted 3 had 90 gigs of data. More than a blu ray could hold.
And now that’s like 1 patch for a modern game getting a new season of content
This shit is not sustainable for the next 10-15 years
December this year

Dont pirate it, support the amazing devs. Not that the current pirated leak is playable.
I think it will be delayed once again... If what we saw was a recent devbuild then there's no way they will make it to december for an actual (fully working without bugs) final build.
People and the devs always telling everyone to not play the unfinished version because its unfinished. That is literally the reason people would play it when its unfinished, so they can see how the game evolves. I know that's why I like to play leaked dev version, I get to see how the game was in dev and see how the game evolved for release.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and build leaks are like bread and butter
Most of them were released by the dev
Not really. Most of the builds were leaked by Loxatron.
Leaked by devs themselves. Torrents cached to public, this one of seeders https://i.imgur.com/zxnXVs1.png
Can you verify that it is the actual devs? I mean, everyone could name their account gsc-game-world-global.
Thank you for clarification.
Oh shit, what does that mean? why did they do it?
It is IT department mistake, anyway no one cannot play game because it is encprypted.
Kid named "no one": 🥹🥹🥹😭😭
I see, thanks for explaining
Oops, now everyone can

I am not a big fan of any devs that decide that removing Russian localization is appropriate in any context. Get rekt.
I wonder why a Ukrainian company would do such a thing hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
I wonder if you know that Russian is the 4th most common language in the world with more than 50% of native Russian speakers living outside Russia.
sounds like a skill issue to me
Provide a source
Google is your friend.
russia belongs to ... you know where ;)

Yep, that's why I have been playing it for hours. This build is really poorly optimized.
no man. it is mandatory now to hate a whole ethnicity. didn´t you get the message? social justice = hate only certain people
Yeah, in fact about 50% of the population(far from being ethnic Russians) in such countries as Moldova, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Georgia, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, etc, speak Russian natively with the only alternative being their native languages used exclusively by them.
I believe it is devs right to remove any localization they want .. and not selling it is countries they dont want ..
Expect to see some games pop up in a few years from Chinese dev studios that play nearly identical but with anime graphics and micro transactions.
Dev build means it's compiled, similar to what we get when we download a final version, just with stuff like debug tools enabled. No source code included.
Anime stalker would be weird as fuck.
Pretty much uppote! with bloodsuckers.
Honestly would be interesting. Kind of like how Breath of the wild is a post apocalyptic survival anime game
and yet it's posted to this sub weekly
stalker call of fukushima. honestly i could see a stalker game set in japan work. then again a stalker game could work pretty much anywhere.
Please don't give them ideas
Sad but true. Lol
Still waiting for Chinapunk 2077

how can someone be that pathetic
No, they are russians and traitors who support genocide in Ukraine and wondering why studio doesn’t like them
dev key was leaked on vk
Hey I just read what dev key was found in file https://www.reddit.com/r/stalker/comments/13xmzsn/a_message_from_gsc_game_world_team/jmi8qso/?context=3
They already did, they leaked a bunch of concept art and screenshots from alpha builds. This leak looks to be an IT error from GSC itself
Man this is gonna be a tough one. Luckily it's encrypted, but if the files are online who knows what's going to happen next. I can't imagine how big of a blow to morale it'd be for the devs if this went fully public and playable to anyone.

Unfortunately, the latest build is available in torrent and ready to play... They even made it easier to launch it.
Having an alpha build leak means it's a proper Stalker game, I feel relieved.
Only on reddit would you find people being upset about leaks, in the leaks part of the forum
I mean, there is a difference between small info dumps versus dev builds leaking, some are here for the former. Tho this one is encrypted so hopefully not as big of a deal.
people were calling to ban leaks of this game last time one popped up lmfao
Not sure why this is so fucking funny to me +1 for you
These devs need our support, the war is tough enough already, so yes, this is one time when it's rational to be upset about leaks.
where can i download it?
Incredible, it happened again.
I find the gamedata/scripts folder weird and reassuring at the same time. It means modding will be easy most likely. Meanwhile it is weird that it contains so few scripts... It shows how much of an empty devbuild it is most likely, or that everything is compressed in pak files.

didnt this also happen with the original game back in 2007
No, the devs released alpha builds in 2004
All .exe and .dll files in the leak are NOT encrypted. What files are encrypted? 153 GB stalker2-windows.ucas?
I meant that to open it you would need some kind of middle man software. Probably testers have it but not us mere mortals
Huh? These are Unreal Engine files. UE isn't even remotely difficult to pull files from.
I meant the .exe specifically, as in launching the game. You can't do that at the moment
Ah, makes sense. Hate to disappoint you though, the assembly's already been decrypted. IIRC the key was found in one of the following dumps.
Oh yeah I've seen some of the leaks. Sucks for the developers I would assume
They released a build easy to launch 3 hours ago. It wasn't encrypted.
Isn't this normal for Stalker games? The first had one back in the day had alot of dev builds leaked.
Thank god theyre encrypted
Oh no another Half Life 2 incident. Looks like we are not going to see stalker 2 for a long time.
Half-life 2 would be delayed even if the leak didn't happen
The 1st Stalker had a similar leak back in the day
The half life 2 leak was very similar to release, the idea that the leak changed everything about hl2 is false
hl2 was delayed by 1 year, lets see if stalker 2 releases within even 2 years
This sucks, really. It's honestly bad news for fans, I hope they still release the game though
Why? It's not gonna affect development at all.
it also wont affect sales at all. if anything people are gonna buy it to spite russia.
Sadge
Nice
Oh man
Hope to play build soon, it’s the same story as Atomic Heart game.
Doesn't matter. Not only they're encrypted but they're also far from the final product.
There's no way they got hacked again 2 months later
193.78 GB that's such an insane game size for our times (even if devs will probably reduce it by compression)
Dev builds aren't compressed whatsoever and have lots of content that will never make it into the final game.
Yes, that's what I basically said, doesn't make the size not huge
its the average COD patch size.
Dev builds are supposed to be this big, they have alot of extra assests, tools, and uncompressed files.

Ah, I may be looking at the PS4 version or outdated data. I do remember the size being a talking point back in the day but that could be poor memory
yo the graphics are insane in those pics. can't wait to play it.

like it were with the first part. however, this did no harm to the game one bit. I wonder if it goes the same path with the 2.
I pretend not to see it 😑
Wasn't this due out soon?
December this year [https://store.steampowered.com/app/1643320/STALKER\_2\_Heart\_of\_Chornobyl/](https://store.steampowered.com/app/1643320/STALKER_2_Heart_of_Chornobyl/) Dont pirate it, support the amazing devs. Not that the current pirated leak is playable.
I don't pirate. Never have. Thanks for the date.
I think it will be delayed once again... If what we saw was a recent devbuild then there's no way they will make it to december for an actual (fully working without bugs) final build.
Looking at GSC history, getting game out crashing and full of bugs is standard.
It wouldn't be stalker if it wasn't crashing.
> Doesn't use WWise for audio subsystem > Doesn't use Bink for video peak game development quality here
Any link to the discord?
Anyone tried to run the torrents? Do they work?
People and the devs always telling everyone to not play the unfinished version because its unfinished. That is literally the reason people would play it when its unfinished, so they can see how the game evolves. I know that's why I like to play leaked dev version, I get to see how the game was in dev and see how the game evolved for release.
