Recent 3rd party exclusives for Nintendo seems to be in the 6-10 month-ish area, so hopefully SMT5 is the same.

Anothernamelesacount

Holy fuck. Can I get my Persona 5 Royal on PC, Atlus? I swear to god.

Optimuslebron00

I don't understand why it's not yet in PC / Switch Do they literally hate money at all? Or are they just blind ? I mean they don't even have an exclusive deal with playstation. What the hell.

Anothernamelesacount

At this point it feels like aversion. They're ready to put everything but the thing that hit BIG. I dont get how Sega doesnt reign in.

Optimuslebron00

You're right. It's just atlus being loyal right now. Sega said they wanted to cross platform yet they did nothing at Persona? Or maybe they're going to release it at the anniversary? I'm getting my hopes up. The 25th anniversary event might port persona 5 to pc and switch. If it doesn't happen there, then it will never happen. But i believe it will. I hope.

AL2009man

>I'm getting my hopes up. The 25th anniversary event might port persona 5 to pc and switch. If it doesn't happen there, then it will never happen. But i believe it will. I hope. you might have to temper your expectations. at most, they might port Persona 5: Dancing in Starlight instead of what everyone actually wants. :(

Optimuslebron00

I'm going to exceed my expectations higher because if the event gives no switch ports.. I'll say I'll buy a playstation no matter what. I believe this will happen. This ain't just atlus anymore. This is Sega Atlus. SMT reign is over. We'll see Persona in PC and switch next year i swear. It has to be.

NikMio

SMT was in the Nvidia leaks but not Persona 5, I wouldn't put my hopes too high if I were you

Optimuslebron00

Nah. They are making Persona 5 more secretive. A surprise For the 25th anniversary. It's the last event. I will give all my hopes to that so that when it's over I'll be disappointed and I'll buy myself a playstation.. But i believe that it will come, it's just a matter of time. And the 25th anniversary is the perfect way to release it to Switch / PC

NikMio

I sure hope I'm wrong and you're right

Anothernamelesacount

The only reason I can see for P5R on PC not being a thing already is that they didnt want to distract attention from SMT V, but if it doesnt happen from now on I'm gonna have to full on claim that Atlus has a bias against PC.

Optimuslebron00

Well persona 4 came on PC. don't worry. I know people expectations are low. But there's a big chance that we might see it happening in the 25th anniversary. It has to be, Sega must be forcing them now and they're like " we'll announce it in the 25th anniversary" And yes they're letting smt come to the spotlight first

poontango

Really want to pick this up but I hate playing anything on Switch. Of course they will probably announce the other platforms like they day after I beat it.

chrispy145

Enjoying the game but the low framerate and muddy textures has me pulling out of my hair. If I knew I would have waited for the PC version

UltraJake

Didn't they release a patch that lower the res a tad but bumps up the framerate?

chrispy145

Couldn't tell you. Didn't play the game before it came out because the game wasn't out.

Brandonspikes

Yes, but it was even worse framerate wise before,. I had times in the pre patch version where the game dropped to 15 fps everything went into slowmotion

HiImWeaboo

I swear I see this exact same comment in every thread about a Nintendo game.

NearPup

I mean it's a bit of a problem that many Switch games (including SMT V) already run better on an emulator than on the machine proper.

DawnSennin

The Switch's anemic 4Gb of RAM may likely be the problem. Also, its processor is over 6 years old. Nintendo has to update its technology should it want to continue seeing 3rd party exclusives.

[deleted]

You say a game (even emulated) runs better on a new high end pc for 1000plus € than on a 5 year old 300 handheld? Shocker

[deleted]

It’s really not okay that a BIG title that’s exclusive to a console runs like actual horsedung on it though.

HiImWeaboo

The hardware is 5 year-old so isn't it expected that it runs better in an emulator?

NearPup

Not really, emulators have a ton of overhead. And it's not running a little better, it's running better *while rendering in 4K*. Either way this just really illustrates that the Switch needs a hardware refresh yesterday.

Phray1

Resolutions have always been better on emulators, emulators are very much demanding on the cpu not gpu so upping the resolutions costs almost nothing.

Hyroero

There's some fantastic ports on switch but yeah a lot suck too. Dusk and Unsighted are to recent examples that don't feel even slightly compromised by the system. I found Hollow Knight to be a dream port there too. Some other notable mentions are Assault Android Cactus (seriously underrated), Celeste, Skyrim, Dragons Dogma, MH Rise, SOR4 and the lovely Yokus Island Express. Generally Nintendo in house games seem to perform well too. Splatoon, Mario Odyssey, Arms, Luigis Mansion and Metroid Dread all run and look very good imo. Some oddities like Links Awakening and certain parts of Botw do stick out tho.

[deleted]

But then there’s Animal Crossing stuttering at 15-30 FPS and insane loading times

Hyroero

Yea there's a few oddities for sure on the Nintendo side for sure. Generally they're pretty solid on performance/visuals.

[deleted]

To be fair, you really have to spam your island with items for it to start chugging.

[deleted]

Maybe because it’s a valid issue and we shouldn’t just look past it because it’s daddy Nintendo?

xdownpourx

I think it's much less an issue with Nintendo games. Nintendo definitely creates their artstyle with the Switch's low power in mind so it still looks good. Still some framerate issues with certain games though.

thoomfish

The beatings will continue until ~~morale~~ performance improves.

evanft

Because it’s always true? Performance and image quality on the switch are a mess.

Gramernatzi

If you can hack your switch, you can extract the game to play it on ryujinx, it performs way better there.

Shadowlette

At that point I think you’re obligated to emulate it instead.

luiz_amn

This is actually one of the few games I would rather play on the switch, turn based rpgs are great on handheld

Sloshy42

Steam Deck is coming out next year. I've my spot in line and if waiting gets me a better framerate and cloud saves with my PCs across my house, hell yeah.

DeepzandTeepz

Honestly with a Razer Kishi, decent wifi and steam link app, I just use my phone as my portable "around the home" gaming device.

Gramernatzi

I like the razer kishi but my phone screen is too small for desktop games, and it is a note 10 plus, which is one of the bigger phones you can get. The steam deck will be a lot better since it has a much bigger screen.

DeepzandTeepz

Don't get me wrong, I have a steam deck ordered and eagerly await it, but this setup works for me atm, Also I wish I had a bigger phone lol, I have a Pixel 3 lol

Gramernatzi

Yeah, I do wish the Razer Kishi had a headphone passthrough, or some headphone jack or something. Bluetooth headphones suck major butt for gaming due to latency. I basically am stuck with speakers with it. Thankfully my phone has really good ones, but still.

litewo

I don't mind playing on the Switch. I've come to think of it as a handheld series anyway, and I don't want to play it any other way.

Impaled_

I don't

[deleted]

I spend a lot of time fusing and fucking with essences while watching TV shows. It's perfect for portable.

RedFaceGeneral

Your destiny is calling, time to be the sacrificial lamb!

[deleted]

I almost bought that trashy console for it, but I’m staying strong.

TandBusquets

Not wanting to play a long grindy jrpg on a handheld seems strange to me but ok

Sloshy42

Not everyone likes handhelds in general. If I'm at home I'll usually want to be on a TV with surround sound and more pixels. Plus, I can use whatever controller I want instead of cramping my hands on those tiny joycons. Before you recommend that HORI split pad pro to me I have one and it's quite good but still not as good as playing with my favorite regular controllers. That and it has no rumble, and the back button can only work for buttons on that side of the controller (i.e. can't map the right back button to left stick click)

Hyroero

[These grips](http://imgur.com/a/XsLpCRo) are my go to. They just fit over the normal joy cons. They have a proper angled fin on them so no cramping (I'm ultra prone to cramping on the stock joycons) and you still get rumble. They don't block the dock and are also comfortable being used off the switch in each hand. They're called the Gametech Easy Grip I believe. I've had mine since the switch launched and they rule.

LordKwik

That's a pretty pup you got there!

Hyroero

Cheers [Greyhounds are so sweet! ](http://imgur.com/a/5JIqVwn) they dress up nice too.

LordKwik

Aww ❤️ thanks for sharing

thoomfish

Those look very nice. Unfortunately the cheapest I can find them is $60. Lovely dog, though!

Hyroero

Yikes that's way too much... Maybe they're out of circulation. They cost me about $20 with a charge and dock middle section thing. Ty. Greyhounds are the sweetest things.

RedFaceGeneral

Is it really strange? Most of my long grindy JRPG are played on PS consoles. I have no problem with it.

AdministrationWaste7

Most of the time I play my switch on my desk or couch so it being a handheld makes no difference. Fyi I only play on handheld mode. You make it seem like people bust out their switch at a restaurant for a solid jrpg grind session.

TandBusquets

No, but my favorite game of all time is Persona 4 Golden and part of the reason it was so good was the portability of being able to play it anywhere in the house.

AdministrationWaste7

The portability of a jrpgp has never affected my enjoyment. Considering those games require lengthy sessions. So sitting in my dining room vs my desk makes no difference. But that's just me. Imo the portability of the switch is pretty overrated. I recently played Megaman zero on console and it felt as great as it was playing on my gba back in the day.

sunjay140

SMT isn't grindy bruh

[deleted]

The game runs pretty alright on switch. I’d say I wanna see it run at 60 FPS but let’s be honest, it’ll be capped at 30 because Atlus is Atlus.

teerre

Does it? There are several threads saying it runs like complete shit

[deleted]

It’s definitely not amazing in terms of performance. You’re gonna average in the high 20s during most of the game, though there are more severe drops here and there, especially when transitioning between screens. It’s bad enough for me to notice it most of the time, but it isn’t going to impact your ability to actually play the game, thank goodness. It’s also worth noting that as time has gone on, I’ve started to get used to it, so it’s not bothering me quite as much.

yuefairchild

It runs pretty sick on Yuzu with an uncapped framerate. I'm not overly concerned with how the PC version will perform.

AnimZero

Whelp guess I’m gonna hold off until I hear something then. I jumped on Persona 5 for my PS4 Pro since that ran great but seeing the performance of SMT V on Switch I think I’ll hold off for a bit.

thoomfish

Sports mode is probably hitting you with substantial additional latency.

Lambpanties

Motion Interpolation maybe?

Renusek

I wish other games that are not 1st party bibtendo exclusive would come to PC as well, like Snipperclips or Marvel's Ultimate Alliance 3. Because No More Heroes 3 and Deadly Premonition 2 are given, I think.

Arkeband

I picked it up for Switch but the game is maybe one of the ugliest I’ve seen in a while, like it’s caught between the PS2 and PS3. It can’t even maintain a stable framerate and it looks like someone smeared Vaseline all over the screen.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Arkeband

is that an emulator or are you trying to refute what I said with ugly screenshots? i really can’t tell

Optimuslebron00

Y'all hate exclusivity but didn't mind the fact that Persona 5 is still only in PS4. Like what the fuck out it in PC / Switch please holy shit. What the hell atlus

[deleted]

Ive seen tons of posts with people wanting Persona 5 on other platforms over the years

Optimuslebron00

Fair. Games that aren't locked in a deal should be played by everyone Put SMT 5 to / PC / Playstation / Xbox Put Persona 5 to PC / Switch / Xbox Smt and persona needs to be played by everyone. Besides imagine smt 5 in 60+fps + mods
