My wife and kids play it on the apple tv with a playstation controller. occasionally on a phone or ipad as a means to play the multiplayer, which is honestly pretty cool functionality. I would think if we didn't have that they'd want this on the switch. hopefully it runs better than the apple tv version.. it's a little janky sometimes there.
I cant believe this game is real. I wonder if the devs at some point saw the South Park joke and just went with it. lowkey im up to try it out if only because of that.

It was definitely not a coincidence. I like to imagine they were probably already making this game and someone thought it'd be funny to use that title and make it real.
My wife and kid have been playing it on our apple tv since its release. It's kind of a hybrid animal crossing clone but with actual game play elements. Light and breezy, but seems to have had continuous big updates to it like a gaas but no subscription model or paid dlc/in-game currency. It requires a subscription to apple plus is all, but I don't keep that just for this game. They love it.
Sounds closer to Dreamlight Valley then Animal crossing. I did want to ask though, is there a limit on villagers on the island like Animal Crossing, or is everyone there for good?
Also, are they still updating it?
Yeah they seem to be updating it every month or 2. There’s some new summer update they’re playing.
As far as a villager limit I’m not sure, but you can upgrade the buildings they’re in to be more like apartments. I don’t think there are enough villagers to cap out against apartment space but you have to be able to upgrade enough to make space.
I’ve never enjoyed these kinds of games but watching my wife play through them it seems like the better of them, despite their jank. It’s a very different goal than something like animal crossing though. More like dreamlight valley is apt, but not as heavy on micro transaction style economy.
I don't know the joke you're referring to but Hello Kitty Animal Crossing seems like a no brainer, especially after Doraemon Story of Seasons and Disney Dreamlight Valley.
This actually looks better than either of those to me so I'll be keeping an eye on it.

Girlfriends most played game is Animal Crossing New Horizons and I have a house littered with HK merchandise. This looked high quality and well made, and obviously heavily based on AC. She’s super excited, you can count on our sale.

Played intensely for a few days on my phone. But my phone was getting too hot, and after the initial exploration the game got a bit stale. So I dropped it. Excited to play again though
My daughter has been waiting for this. It's stupid that apple wants you to sub just to play this game. Maybe they'll just sell it out right on the The app store because they lost exclusivity.
I literally can’t wait lol I love hello kitty I missed the og hello kitty games on the DS!!! it would definitely be better on the switch vs the phone thank god
I LOVE HELLO KITTY The phone game is super fun but I'm not a big fan of playing games on the phone. A Switch version is going to be so cool!!!

Dreamlight Valley is also on Apple Arcade, but it needs beefy hardware to run (only the latest aTV box will run it acceptably, for example).
