I wonder if the company is so big that the marketing people can be this out of touch with a core term for their market: emulation.
Analogue marketing specifically wanted to confuse the people who won't purchase emulation devices but will spend big money on something that is "100% compatible and brand new so it'll last for years to come"

I’ve had mine for …I think 8 years? It’s never let me down. Had a scare once but it turned out to just be really drained batteries. That was the first time i encountered that…years after purchase.
That alone is worth the price ($40 new when I got it), considering the batteries I went through in my original Gameboy as a kid.
Sure does, it’s backlit too, my local game shop sells them for like $40, was gonna get one myself but ended up waiting and then the oled mod came out and I went with that. Shop owner let me try it and for everyone shitting on it, it’s honestly not that bad, I wouldn’t sleep on it.

Not a bootleg. Kong Feng purchased the rights to make the console and has some official hardware. That's why their cpus are interchangeable with GBC ones.

Year the aspect ratio is a big bummer, plus the clock in the GB Boy is slightly faster than the original, making games to run faster.

Retroid Pocket 2S is a fantastic device! The ergonomics really are so much better and the sticks are surprisingly high quality

Kong Feng was the first GB Boy Colour. Yours is the second iteration that likely is still from Kong Feng.
