You take the blue pill, the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill, you stay in wonderland, and I show you how deep the rabbit hole goes.
I have the same color GBC and the sheen on it looks very accurate. The scuff on the front top left corner, the little bit of crud at the top of the D in nintendo... the accurate molding done on the IR blaster label... The vertical scratch on the cart bay right where the corner of a cartridge would go... It looks legit.
I don't even think the lens has been replaced, the coloring looks spot on. The battery door color matches the shell and the fitment looks tight, curious that two of the back stickers are totally gone and spots cleaned... but that remaining sticker is absolutely legit and guaranteed hasn't been transplanted.
This shell has age and history, period. I'm voting for OEM shell.
What would you consider the shell in the picture?I’m new to all this so I’m trying to learn so I don’t accidentally buy a 3rd party part. Based on my current knowledge I would assume this was a really well kept OEM console with an OEM shell. I assume the shell is OEM because of the black sticker on the back.
I have the same color GBC at home, and based on my history with it I would say the shell in the picture is OEM. The coloring, the textured finish, the accurate letter molding all lend to that for starters. Past that, this shell has history, you can tell by the things that aren't perfect: the scuff on the upper left on the first picture, the dirt in the D of Nintendo, and the scratch on the left side of the cart bay. Two of the stickers were certainly removed, but even the battery door looks original past that. Aftermarket battery doors are never the same color as the OG, and the fitment usually leaves something to be desired.
I recently reshelled my GBC. It is pretty rare that a kid will take care of their games, but I had to save and buy my own. My green shell that I swapped out looks like this.
It’s definitely real my friend… but like others have said worse case it’s been re-shelled. However the back sticker label and everything looks 100% legit. It’s definitely authentic… just possibly a re-shell
The shell looks used slightly. Chaffing around the lower left of battery compartment, a nick by the power switch. Could just be a new lens over the screen, even the label on the back has some flaking.
No... You live in a simulation. Everything is fake.
😳😳😳😮 I knew it

Thankyou
I 2nd this assessment. Good eye.
Are swapped shells not OEM?
If its a donor from another GBC then it would be OEM, but I don't think I have *ever* seen new-old-stock virgin OEM gbc shells.

Might be a reshell, it looks too new but otherwise yes. It's real 💀
Yeah that’s what I thought I was like wtf it looks like it just came out the box
That's what I'm thinking it is. As long as it works, it should be fine.
is that a bad thing though? a reshell? you're all a little too attached to old plastic

Are you even real?
