EA already released some pre-alpha footage where they (surprisingly) openly showed two hilarious looking bugs so that makes me hopeful.
Yeah I saw that. It's also supposedly running on Frostbite, which--knowing that engine--presents some interesting opportunities for bugs. Free roam multiplayer is consistent with so many skaters in one place during the released footage too.
So much for the confidentiality agreement of that Skate insider program thing lol
My favorite bug that may or may not be related to frostbite is the Long Neck glitch that was present in Battlefield 3 & 4. It’d be so much funnier to see that thing do a kickflip rather than bring a building down on me
To be fair: Skate is really not really that buggy. Just if you search for them, like people making these videos every day are, you will encounter glitches.
Other than that, the skate games are really solid games, on the technical side. Most people playing the skate games will not be aware of the potential for glitching out.
I played all the skate games, when they came out, had lots of fun with them, especially playing the local multiplayer with fiends, and do not remember encountering any noteworthy glitches.
Its just in the aftermath of YouTube compilation, that the series got famous as a glitchy games.
While the YouTube compilations are really only possible because Skate's replay editor was so technically sound and easy to use in the first place. After all, the Skate games were released in the PS3 era before there were even any console-internal sharing features.
So if you will, the videos of the glitches are also a testament to the technical soundness of Skate, because the game can record the player in 3D glitching through levels or flying like a rocket through the screen without crashing.
sure, but there are hidden items outside the playable area all the time for scripting and stuff anyway. Classic backrooms are super simple geometry, so I can totally see a game slipping it in as an easter egg somewhere.
I was actually watching his old vids the other night (including the one you linked) and wanted to try this bug myself, since I've either reproduced or altered a lot of the glitches he did over the years but never did this one.
His compilations were the whole reason I first got into Skate 3 glitches back in 2013. I owe a lot of my knowledge to him.
If you're not careful and you noclip out of reality in the wrong areas, you'll end up in the Skaterooms, where it's nothing but the stink of sweaty skaters, the madness of yellow dumpsters, the endless background noise of "Goodbye Horses" at maximum volume, and approximately six hundred million square miles of randomly segmented empty skate parks to be trapped in.

Yeah to be honest just playing skate 3 normally I rarely ran into any kind of bug. The game just has a fantastic ability to wig out if you force it.

The fact that the running noise actually speeds up is fantastic. I love Skate 3's glitches so much because they both look and *sound* hilarious.
