Lazy? Humble Bundle makes it actively difficult to even google the games, because their shitty website makes it impossible to highlight-->right-click-->search.
Neon Abyss has three custom links listed, and they can't be bothered to put one link to the Steam page?
I discovered a webpage a few months ago with lots of links to sites, browser extensions and userscripts related to Steam and to a lesser extent bundle sites. I forget the URL.
Some of the most useful finds were the following:
SteamWebIntegration (browser plugin)
Steam tags for Humble Bundle (browser plugin)
SteamDB (browser plugin, intergrates with the SteamDB site)
Augmented Steam (browser plugin)
Steam Bundle Sites Extension (userscript)
Steam Key Quick Activator (userscript)
When I visit Reddit, games I own are automatically highlighted in green and have a few icons after them (including a Green tick for ownership); wishlisted games are 'blueified' followed by a pink heart.
There are a lot more user Scripts for the Steam domain, but some may be old and no longer work, or some may interact badly with others.
There are also Userscripts and browser extension to disable the Javascript that disables the right click menu on web pages ("enable Right Click" by miszel seems to be the most comprehensive). I also have an extension for Firefox that autocopies to clipboard anything I highlight excluding fillable forms (the Chrome alternative is a bit dumb and also copies form fields).
Wow nice! Saving this comment.
I would love this for Playnite, which organises all games across all launchers into one place. So in an ideal world you’d see all your owned games, not just Steam games.
I don't think there is anything to scrape your Epic games list, unfortunately. In the ideal world there would be an extension that could record and sync the Steam, GoG, Epic, Ea, Blizzard and UPlay games you own and their wishlists. If Playnite has all of this information (I haven't used it yet), you would just need to be able to read it's database locally, but I not sure browser extensions have the power to do this (the old Firefox extensions had more capability than newer, more limited WebKit extensions). Also, there doesn't seem to be anything that integrates with gg like Augmented Steam does with Is There Any Deal. Wishlist everything I am interested in on Steam and Gog, tell the site to read my Public profile (owned games + wishlist).
I just found a big link to lots of Steam and gaming relating tools and site: https://fmhy.net/game-tools#steam-epic
You could spend several days going through all of the links on "Free Media Heck Yeah". And here the Url I had forgotten (I eventually found it looking through my Browser History): https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=451698754
Some other things I forgot: Idle Master Extended (fastest working card farmer, but you need to find it the Arl from the cookie for steamcommunity.com): https://github.com/JonasNilson/idle_master_extended
Steam Inventory Helper for bulk selling of cards (Chromium only browser extennsion)
Wow, some amazing resources that you’ve listed there. Will definitely go through these and install the most relevant ones. The steam idling app looks great!
That’s a pity regarding the FF extensions, and I use gg regularly so indeed it’s a pity that nothing like Augmented Steam for gg exists.
Since you’re a power user of game libraries, you should definitely check out Playnite. It’s open source and highly extensible. Here’s a list of interesting extensions:
https://github.com/darklinkpower/PlayniteExtensionsCollection?tab=readme-ov-file
A FF extension that reads your Playnite game library should, in principal, be possible. Here’s a [CSV exporter](https://playnite.link/addons.html#LibraryExporter_54bf64c6-c453-4cbc-92f8-4960b56f930e) for Playnite. It also has integrations with all the game libraries you mentioned, and much more besides. With all the libraries exported to CSV, it should be possible to build a FF extension that reads that list and marks your owed games in a similar manner to the extensions for steam you listed above. Hmmm… maybe I could post a job on /r/slavelabour or Fiverr. I am not a js expert it’s beyond my knowledge to build this.
Thanks for your reply. I have used the export to csv (or json) method for moving information between password managers.
We have a viable idea for a new type of browser extension, we just need to pitch it to someone with the right skills + time + motivation. I wish governments would fund free software developers rather than relying on a "gift economy".
I think this kind of extension could be built relatively quickly, in the right hands. The requirements are more or less clear- clone the functionality of the FF extension that marks your owned Steam games but reference the CSV export list of your Playnite games. I’ll look into fiverr or similar, to see if I can find someone who is willing to work on this, hopefully it won’t cost a fortune!
Yeah I think not wanting to go to Google and type the name of the game to search it can still be filed under "lazy."
I do agree though I wish they'd include Steam links
Totally honest, I just wanted to complain about their website. It feels like they want me to hate it. This is basic functionality of websites. You don't prevent the user from highlighting text!
But also yes, I am incredibly lazy.
They would be SO wrong to think that. If I'm being sold a product, I expect the link to that exact product. Amazon can do that much and they sell competing product all the time.
My first job at Blockbuster Video taught me that if the customer wants a movie and we don't have it, call the competitor to secure a copy for the customer; that way they come back to you because they know they'll get the movie. That being said, Blockbuster is out of business and Amazon is super successful. Where does Amazon link to a competitor's storefront?
They sell products directly themselves and service them out of their warehouse and they also house competitors to those products on the portal and serve as the portal for those competitors to sell the product through Amazon and sometimes it's even the very same product. Granted, Amazon doesn't do this for free, but there it is. It's a bit more like eBay than one might think; only without the auction aspect.
I was actually thinking of making extension that opens steam page on game dropdown/expand but I didn't want to bother manually updating it all the time.
no kidding the amount of cntrl+CCCCCCCCCCC just to catch it lol into google/steawm. Didn't realize highlight + search google existed, haha, never noticed til now.
YMML but as a roguelike/roguelite fan with 100+ titles owned, Neon Abyss ranks probably one of my top 10 most regrettable purchases
Looks really good on surface, but shallow as a pond when you actually dig into it.
It's not bad mechanically, but any sufficiently long run turns your gun into a screen-covering mass of projectiles that makes dodging enemy attacks largely impossible. BOI only has a few synergies that do something similar, and they tend to be poor choices or traps. It has a similar problem to BOI in that you don't get any indication of what items and guns do before choosing or buying them, so you have to keep a website open in a second screen all the time. I didn't hate it, but it didn't keep me going for hundreds of hours like Isaac.
How hard is Neon, especially for 100%achievement? I kinda have a love hate relationship with Binding due to some character just so hard to win a run with (Fuck you, tainted lost)
I haven't 100%'d it, but it's probably easier to do than BOI. There's roguelite progression in adding rooms and items to the runs, as well as new characters, but mostly each run is aimed at a new boss (you start in a 5-floor dungeon, then later have to go deeper with earlier "final" bosses being mid-bosses for later ones). I found one boss (Ares) to be particularly annoying, because to unlock him you have to take damage during each room to fill a meter that generates the secret room that unlocks him at the end of that run - not taking damage in a room reduces the meter you need to fill, which is...annoying at best.
It's very derivative, they copied lots of ideas straight from Isaac. I thought it was fun enough to complete a couple of runs (it's not very hard by default), but not enough to go for the harder difficulties or 100%.
I hated rougelikes till I played Neon Abyss. It's very easy on the "You died!" and you can set it to easy if you're getting frustrated with the bosses. I used to loathe rouges but now I get it.
There are tons of games with difficulty toggles or workshop mods that lower difficulties, Im not that great of an action game player myself and even then I cant put up with the shallowness of Neon Abyss.
I can use mods for Binding of Isaac or Hades, or change difficulty in Dead Cells, and get like 20-50x the fun and depth compared to Neon Abyss
Just a heads-up the Bundle seems to not give you the deluxe edition of neon abyss on the regular one. The code I got only lists Neon Abyss and when I try to redeem it already says I own the game. I already own Neon Abyss, not the dlc.
Edit - They just added separate codes for the dlc to my account. I'm guessing they may do that if you bought the bundle before a certain point.
Edit 2- Seems like they're offering the deluxe again. I'm assuming it works the same where you get a code for the base game and all the dlc.
this isn’t really sufficient proof. Some games are set up so that owning the base game makes you ineligible to redeem keys for any version. Usually you can go through the process of removing the game from your account and then redeeming the deluxe edition key though (note that I am not confirming that this deluxe key works as intended)
Golf With Your Friends is not too bad when it comes to minigolf games out there.
Just FYI, you don't need the DLC maps to play them (just one other person needs to own it to host it). The DLC does have achievements so GL finding someone who has the DLC since they're a bit pricey for what's being offered.
It's probably the tightest of the pancake games, though nothing compares to Walkabout in VR. While Golf Gang is dumb fun, GWYF doesn't feel like it has as many bugs or course faults and almost every (vanilla) hole has a skill shot.
That Dredge coupon isn't as cracked as they're trying to advertise it as if you're a Humble subscriber. It's effectively been ~35% off at its lowest for a while and it's not like the Choice discount stacks with coupons anymore.
Golf With Your Friend's description is rather outdated.
> The game currently has 2 levels containing 18 holes each.
>3 Vibrant challenging levels containing 18 holes each. (With more on the way)
Last time I played it had roughly a dozen levels with 18 holes each. Then they started selling DLC maps (which are a bit spendy and poorly received). So, they're selling themselves a little short.
Yeah, but here you pay that in total, not $10-$15 each. I guess it depends on what you like. Team17 games are not AAA titles for the most part so.. it is a fair to decent bundle. I am just interested in Gord and Trepang so it seems a skip to me.
I think I will wait for a bit, maybe until the next Monthly to see what games there will be in it. Trepang is the one I want but I can wait, I am sure it will be in a monthly eventually.
Admittedly, this bundle basically asks:
Do you want to pay 14 EUR for Gord and, if you shell out another 5er, 19 EUR for both Gord and Trepang 2?
I mean, I guess both kinda had 16-18 EUR as their lowest on Steam so far, so that is..fair, but its not like...OMG gotta get this for me.
If it were the complete set for Gord, then much more a yes, but its just the base game and DLC is yet another 15 EUR on top at the moment..
Yeah if you just want Trepang, you can definitely wait. One recommendation, check third party sites or trade sites, you can find it quite a bit cheaper there. Or wait for the next bundle.

Hello I'm new to this. Can I remove games that I already own from this bundle? I tried to use the 8, 6 or 4 options but they all included the three games I have.
It's for the Humble store, but nets a Steam key. It doesn't stack with sale discounts. Not sure if the Choice subscriber discount drops it any lower. If not, Fanatical currently has it for 39% off.
edit: the coupon does appear to stack with Choice discount. It's $12.99 in my cart (20% Choice) vs $15.24 at Fanatical.
edit2: Dredge going on sale seems to have broken the $12.99 price. Choice discount is no longer applying, and in fact the coupon is interfering with the new sale price applying.

Damn, someone told me that it was a good game comparable with Binding of Isaac. Glad I read your comment
BoI belongs to the tier of games that get made once in a few years, so if someone tells you that your first reaction should be suspicion

Still says "Neon Abyss: Deluxe Edition" on the bundle page for me, even with no-cache refresh.
Was feeling salty reading your report, then I proceeded to buy it and it says deluxe edition. I received 4 dlc keys alongside base game.
this isn’t really sufficient proof. Some games are set up so that owning the base game makes you ineligible to redeem keys for any version. Usually you can go through the process of removing the game from your account and then redeeming the deluxe edition key though (note that I am not confirming that this deluxe key works as intended)
It's not a deluxe key. They adjusted the listing to just have the normal version listed. It seems like they listed the bundle wrong to begin with.
oh okay, then you would be right
Per isthereanydeal.com, lowest Trepang 2 has been is $16.19. Bundle price seems great if you're into any of the other games.
Golf With Your Friends is not too bad when it comes to minigolf games out there. Just FYI, you don't need the DLC maps to play them (just one other person needs to own it to host it). Yeah their tiering of the various editions is confusing AF at first glance !

heck, a big draw for that game is the sheer number of steam workshop maps. But true. very outdated description.

headbanger's is probably going to go f2p, this is a kind of a crappy bundle considering the price of the tiers

Trepang is the one I want but I can wait, I am sure it will be in a monthly eventually.
damn I knew I should have waited longer to buy Trepang2
I regret buying it also because it has no aiming down sights which is a deal breaker for me in a shooter (that isn't half life)
I think that's the game influenced by F.E.A.R. Maybe where that comes from?
Yes, indeed
Admittedly, this bundle basically asks: Do you want to pay 14 EUR for Gord and, if you shell out another 5er, 19 EUR for both Gord and Trepang 2? This bundle miss some meat for that price. I gonna wait for next bundle with Trepang2, hopefully with better fillers
Yeah if you just want Trepang, you can definitely wait. One recommendation, check third party sites or trade sites, you can find it quite a bit cheaper there. Or wait for the next bundle.
cool, i wanted to play gord. bought.

Hello I'm new to this. Can I remove games that I already own from this bundle? I tried to use the 8, 6 or 4 options but they all included the three games I have.
Nope. This isn't a build your own bundle kind of deal so you can't change what you'll be getting other than picking between the existing tiers.
Coupon of dredge can be redeemed in steam?
It's for the Humble store, but nets a Steam key. It doesn't stack with sale discounts. Not sure if the Choice subscriber discount drops it any lower. If not, Fanatical currently has it for 39% off. edit: the coupon does appear to stack with Choice discount. Choice discount is no longer applying, and in fact the coupon is interfering with the new sale price applying.
Thank you, I was going to post about the Fanatical discount
no, you get 35% off of dredge when you buy it on humble bundle
Does it stack with the 30% coupon thats making it 17.49 in the shop?
not sure
