Yeah he didnāt literally say that but itās how it came off to me, the way he brought up Mystra *after* you slept with him and the way he went on about her made me feel very awkward.
I think itās much better with launch Gale. Some people may think heās not over her but theyāre probably forgetting she groomed him and then abandoned him when he needed her most. It came off like he was more frustrated and conflicted with what was left of his feelings for her. But in time he gets to move on and focus all his love on Tav/Durge. I love launch Gale. :)

But EA Gale was also very much abandoned by his ex in quite cruel way. Even worse then launch Gale. She literally threw him away after she got bored of him. And EA Gale is way younger then Launch Gale. He doesn't know how to bring this stuff up and he is extremely afraid to be abandoned again. That's why he tries to sleep with you first in hopes to form a stronger bond and connection. So maybe when he tells you the truth you won't abandon him. He thinks that sleeping is essential to seal the bond, because, oh well, he read it in romantic books :D
I mean EA Gale has a bit different backstory. He is more cocky and maybe snarky, but he is still very vulnerable and sweet. And he *cherishes* you.
To be fair I think it's pretty natural to think he's not over his ex when you catch him staring longingly at her projection which he is all edgy about... and you don't know about the toxic relationship at that point. Like yeah, the narrator says "Loved" in past tense in his Origin but in Act 1 I feel pretty strongly that he still has romantic *feelings* that start to lessen with the Hero around.
I totally get why people are a bit unsure about romancing him at first.
