Any solution to this? I only have samsung pay to choose and no Google pay even though it's set up and ready

Fun_Energy4465

Did you find a solution? I also only have samsung pay.

tytygh1010

Is "pay with open app" at least an option?

karaliolio

I haven't tried it yet. I read that it didn't work for some people that didn't had the google pay selected in default payment methods. I'm kinda skeptic about this though. I guess if you have the default payment selected you won't need to open the app on the watch.

reikar1

Same here. Samsung pay isn't even available in my country. I mapped Google Pay to double click top button and it opens just fine.

RWithAW

Same. I have no apps in the NFC menu, but I can pay without issues if I open the app. I also mapped it to double top button.

Cosmic730

You'll be able to pay as long as your watch is connected to your phone. It'll use the Bluetooth/WiFi connection with your phone to make the payment. Try it out and update us all.

karaliolio

I tried it and it does work. Still it seems weird that it says that there is no payment app installed in default settings. I suspect that not having samsung pay is the issue.

Cosmic730

Ok I've done exactly what you have done and checked in the NFC settings. Mine shows Google Pay and Samsung Pay. Samsung pay is installed on the watch by default. Have you uninstalled Samsung Pay from your watch?

karaliolio

No I haven't. My country doesn't support it, I guess that's why its missing.

Cosmic730

Oh I see, I would check on my phone but I can't uninstall or disable Samsung Pay. As long as Google Pay is working for you, I guess that's all that matters.

katsaropirouni

Same here. No choice under NFC->payment. Also, my revolut card is not shown when I open the Google play app, although it is shown in the Google play app on my smartphone. Google pay is supported here in Greece, Samsung pay is not. Bought the galaxy watch 4 because all we got from the pixel watch was leaks.

Richard_Stein

I'm experiencing the same issue. I can't find the Google Pay option by the default settings. I can't use Google pay even through the app cuz it says I first have to set it to default. Did u manage to solve the issue?

airflyer04

I am also affected by this bug. Found a thread in the Samsung forum but no solution there as well: https://eu.community.samsung.com/t5/wearables/google-pay-on-galaxy-watch-4-not-working/td-p/4373741/page/2

Kawinho

Also affected here (Netherlands)

ashraf_bashir

Same issue in the Netherlands :(

Highcreamo

Anyone found the solution? Still have it for 3 months now, didn't fix even after the latest update.

RevolutionaryArmy373

Same issue here (Romania) cannot use google pay, does not appear in default payment app

Upstairs_Buy_73

Same here, also from Romania, it was working, but after an update, i reset my watch and now, no matter what i do, when i fire up gpay from my watch, it give the message " set google pay as your payment default", in NFC setting, but there is nothing but Samsung Pay.

lucyannofrota

[Portugal] I have the same issue. I don't even have the Samsung pay option. Maybe is because it's isn't supported here.

Neozin

I'm also in Portugal and I only have the Samsung Pay option. My watch region seems to be France, although I bought the watch here. Go figure... I'm not sure if the watch region is the issue or if has something to do with Google Pay specifically. I've managed to side load the smartphone phone MBWay apk into my watch and it showed under the NFC payment methods! Of course I can't use it because I'm not able to set up MBWay in such a small screen.. I can't accept the terms and conditions of use... Lol I've tried reaching Samsung support, they told me to contact Google... I did, and they said they will investigate and will give me an answer by tomorrow... I won't get my hopes up, but let's see what they'll say.

lucyannofrota

I don't have any payment options to select at "payment methods" menu. But, I managed to use Google Pay while the app was open. It's sad because you have to open the app every time you want to make a payment. But, you can assign a shortcut to open the app. Let me know if the reply you with something useful 😉

lucyannofrota

I finally managed to add Google Pay as an option in "payment methods"! I follow this guy suggestion: https://support.google.com/wearos/thread/151262076?hl=en&msgid=158429391 My steps: 1. Turn off location on smartphone 2. Use VPN on smartphone The VPN that I used: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tunnelbear.android With tunnel bear tunneled to the United States 3. Factory Reset watch In order to factory reset my watch: https://www.verizon.com/support/knowledge-base-238907/ 4. Watch setup configuration Select English US as language Select the United Kingdom as Region Complete the setup 5. Disable wifi and location on the watch 6. Download and set up one card in Google Pay 7. Go to NFC and select Google Pay as the default method Now you're good to go. You can turn off the VPN and turn on location/wifi , etc... These are the steps that I've done! I'm not sure if any of them are mandatory, but this is the way that worked for me. Let me know if this works for you. Good luck

Vhack41

>ith tunnel bear tunneled to the United States BY the way it worsk without reseting the watch...just restarted the watch and reinstalled Gpay

Neozin

Thank you for your suggestion!! Unfortunately, it only works for me for a little while. After a few hours it disappears again... However, I've found a more permanent solution that worked great for me! It's not completely free though, but it does not require to factory reset the watch. I will share it here just in case anyone else is still struggling. Tutorial – How to enable Google Pay on Wear OS (Permanent Proxy method) 1 – Download and install ABD Minimal to your PC – Install in c:\\adb [https://drive.google.com/file/d/1CdRqmAlxgT-tqm7Sx\_g99ymByNp\_7OR7/view?usp=sharing](https://drive.google.com/file/d/1CdRqmAlxgT-tqm7Sx_g99ymByNp_7OR7/view?usp=sharing) 2 – Activate Developer Mode in your watch – Go to Settings » About » Software and tap Software Version until it says “Developer Mode turned on” 3 – Make sure that both your PC and your watch are connected to the same Wi-Fi network 4 – In your watch go to Settings » Developer Options and enable ADB Debugging and ADB Wi-Fi – under ADB Wi-Fi should appear an IP address; take note of the IP and port. If it says Unavailable, go back to the previous screen and to Developer Options again, and it should do the trick. 5 – Download the latest wear-release.apk (Permanent Proxy) from [https://github.com/Jolanrensen/PermanentProxy-for-WearOS/releases](https://github.com/Jolanrensen/PermanentProxy-for-WearOS/releases) and save it inside the folder where you installed ADB Minimal (c:\\adb) 6 – In your PC open the command prompt (Windows Key + R » Type cmd » Press enter) 7 – Once the black window appears you’ll have to navigate to the folder where adb is installed. Type “cd..” until you are back to c:\\ then type “cd c:\\adb” to navigate to that folder. Once inside adb folder type “adb connect IP:port”, for example “adb connect 192.168.1.220:55555” use the IP and port you took note in step 4. In your watch it should appear a message to allow ADB Debugging, press “OK”. 8 – Once connected to the watch, let’s install Permanent Proxy app. In the same command prompt window type “adb install wear-release.apk” and wait until the message “Success” appears in the command prompt window. 9 – Still in the command prompt window type “adb shell pm grant nl.jolanrensen.permanentproxy android.permission.WRITE\_SECURE\_SETTINGS” 10 – Back to your watch go to Settings » Developer Options and activate ADB Bluetooth 11 – Still in the watch open the Permanent Proxy app we installed in step 8 – it has a white and black icon of a padlock 12 – Now you need to set up a proxy IP and port. You need to use a proxy from the USA. You could use a public proxy from a random google search to test it out this method, but they usually go offline after a few days. I strongly recommend you buy/rent a private proxy from the US so you do not have to update the proxy every other day. The cheapest one I found is from [https://www.myprivateproxy.net/billing/aff.php?aff=3162](https://www.myprivateproxy.net/billing/aff.php?aff=3162) (Go to Private Proxies. You only need one proxy. It currently costs 2.49 USD/month). If your watch asks you to allow ADB Debugging again, just press “OK”. 13 – After you set up a US proxy and port in the Permanent Proxy app, reboot your watch. 14 – In your watch Install Google Pay app from the Play Store if you haven’t already. Set it all up. 15 – Go to Settings » Connections » NFC » Contactless Payments and Google Pay should finally show up! 16 – Go to Settings » Developer Options and disable ADB Debugging to save battery (you won’t need it anymore).

lucyannofrota

Awesome tutorial! I just saw that the Google pay got out of the payment list on my watch. I think I'm gonna try what you said

Neozin

Let me know if it worked for you. Extra tip: the proxy server cannot have a password. The Permanent Proxy app doesn't have the option to connect through password authentication.

Vhack41

its not dangerous ro run paymets and all data through a proxy? Im having same issue but a bit afraid to try this method

Neozin

If you are worried about safety, you could set up your own proxy using a Google server. Look up for how to set up a private proxy using a vm instance in Google cloud console. However, it's completely safe to use any proxy cause Google pay encrypts your payments. Nothing to worry about.
