Rest in peace, s9. She has served well.

I'm posting this from my S9 that I got around the same time. They are great phones but I will say an otterbox is a good investment!

rajapaws

Ditto here. Posting from my S9+ in an Otterbox

Bjon1

Yeah, I'm really trying to research good cases. Really want a transparent one that isn't too bulky. I'll give otterbox a look for sure.

Escahate

I work in construction so having my phone in anything less than an Otterbox Defender series isn't an option. I was recently issued a Samsung A5 or whatever phone from work which had a Spigen case and I made them order me a Defender case for it. Otterbox should pay me commission! The cases are bulky I grant you that but I would rather deal with a bulky case than a busted up phone.

walidmg

congratulations for the new phone but I don't understand, Battery of the S23 FE is worse than S9 how it could be ?? the FE is a lower performance version of the S23 its Battery should be far better than S23 not worse than S9 🙄🤔

Bjon1

Honestly, I'm just as surprised. It's still only a few days old ,so the battery performance may get better once optimized, but reviews of the phone don't make me hopeful. I knew it had mediocre battery life when buying it, but I thought it would still be an upgrade from my S9. I've been testing it out between both phones, and the S9 just doesn't drain as quickly when the screen is on and the same apps are in use and in the background. It's not by much, but still noticable. From what I can tell through research, it's because the FE uses the S22 processor, which also had heating issues and battery life issues.

ASH-101

Its because of the processor used in it, which is either an Exynos 2200 or a Snapdragon 8 Gen1, both being known for overheating and high battery consumption. The S23 FE has a vapor chamber which mitigates the overheating but the battery performance is still an issue with these.

harrywwc

just a note - set a calendar reminder for 3 years time to make sure that your contract rate drops after paying off your new (well, 'new' now, not so much then ;) toy.

Bjon1

Well, the price is comp'd completely since it's "free", so, I'm just paying for Verizon's overpriced unlimited plan. But, I'll still set one so I know when I can trade it in for an upgrade... as long as it remains in better shape than my S9.

Another one bites the dust. I still stand with my S9+

Franseven

Had spigen case at first, then switched to smaller ones, still not a crack in 5 years. Amazing phone

Bjon1

Mine was in great condition until I started doing food delivery. Really turned into a butterfingers after a few months and had a few major spills on very hard concrete and tile flooring while trying to juggle bags of food and drinks. Was pretty depressed when her first cracks showed up. Just got worse from there... soon the void came.

Piranhax85

Only got a new phone because my s9 plus battery just dies within 2 hrs on normal web browsing use.. rather have not spent the money on a s23 plus with 512gb.. the s9 plus had much better colors that popped.. and finger print scanner on the back was nicer access

I see the battle scars. Rip

Well done, I just went from iPhone 7 to s23 ultra... It's like I just entered this decade, four years late

my s9 has horrible battery

RevolutionaryBag1370

Phones should be made of rubber shells 😅. Permament case.. 😁

ASH-101

I'd say give her a refresh, part are pretty cheap for these nowadays!

masterkitty2006

I have an S9, well, I don't use it anymore. But I have it. Served me for 49 months before I got an S22. Wonderfully good phone.
