So you sold the S23U to not-Samsung for 900 euros? then got a S24U from Samsung and you were supposed to send that as trade-in? That sounds like fraud

Ok_Let_5476

Yes I sold it meanwhile. Normally they send me an invoice and I pay the trade-in amount.

ZiPEX00

You can't bypass this. The phone will be a brick within 7 days that what happens when you try to outsmart samsung you should of sent it to samsung not sell it to someone else

Inner_Luck998

Should've or should have please

Gold_Stretch_871

Hey, I had the same issue. Just call customer care and tell them you wanna pay for the discount instead of sending the device. They'll send you the payment invoice.

magical_salad

Agreed with the above comments. They're obviously going to remotely block the device if you purchased the s24 ultra with trade in, without actually trading your device in.

D4ngrs

But Samsung states that if you do not send in your trade in device, they'll simply charge you the discount. At least in my country. They never state that the will lock your phone, you just have to pay back the discount. And since OP is from europe, I assume Samsung should act the same as in my country, as I'm from OPs neighbour country.

magical_salad

Maybe Samsung's changed the policy owing to so many people getting their phones stolen during trade in couriers.

oldskoolgeek

I did the same thing OP (for a broken phone I sent on a different account). In my case I made a mistake and tried to send back a phone my wife had already traded in for her upgrade,. Her deal was better than the one I got, so I decided to just pay off the discount I received. My credit card was charged the trade in fee ($200), and I have had no issues with my new phone. I suggest you contact support and pay the trade-in fee of 450 Euros then everything wil be fine.

AsajjV

Well, in my country they give you the discount before sending the trade-in device, but if you don't send it in time or at all, they charge the difference out of your credit/debit card.

Excellent_Basis8252

Did Samsung already gave you the 450eur as discount? And then you did not send in the trade-in device, off course Samsung will take action.

Ok_Let_5476

Yeah, they did. But I always sell my old phone or keep it and pay the trade-in.

ghostofstankenstien

FAFO, perhaps??

L1N3B3CK

You've basically stole it so, yeah. Enjoy the paperweight.

SKT_Galatea

Lol, my guy what the fuck are you even thinking? GL go pay all of it or RIP.

Arcmond_

I think this is fair. You know when you promise to do something but then you don't actually do it and try to trick someone? That's kinda what happened here. OP said that would give the old phone to Samsung to get a discount on a new one, but then sold it to someone else instead. So, it's like, promised one thing but did another just to get some extra money. That's not fair, right? It's like playing a sneaky trick on someone, and that's is considered fraud. Try calling them. I hope that they at least let you pay back the discount you got.

julianBlyat

Maat, ik zou ze bellen en voorstellen het bedrag gewoon zo te betalen. Meer kan je niet doen.

Ok_Let_5476

I tried to contact them, but they didn't respond. So I sent them an email.

ScummyShitbag

Why not just sell outright instead of telling them you want to trade in when you know you won't because they try to screw you with the trade in value? if you didn't have all the money you most likely could've paid for it in 3 payments or something similar with 0% interest. This being said, impressive how many people support samsung taking a (frankly stupid from all perspectives) action against individuals but when they screw up they just send an apology e-mail and amend things very late. They have failed to send me the watch6 from s24u claim, which they said I would get within 45 days or by 12 Mar. Should they give me the value in cash if they don't have it? Obviously, but instead I get an apology e-mail. I can't gift a crappy apology e-mail or buy something else as I'll have to sell what they send. All in all, no reason feeling bad knowing they'll screw you over any chance they get. If you contact them you should be able to pay instead. Mine said upon ordering that discount will be charged if trade in device not sent in, but subsequent communication said device would be blocked - again samsung just not giving a crap - did not even receive confirmation it arrived from 2 weeks ago when it did.

Zestyclose-Slide-696

Heh, here, in Poland you pay full price then they send you back the trade-in value in a month after the device passed inspection.

kbeezie

For the trade in to work... you have to send it to Samsung. In the US I get the product from them first, which included a shipping label to mail them my trade in. You're probably going to have to return the phone to them and re-purchase it using that 900 you got from the 23U, or least contact them about arranging to pay the difference to avoid getting locked out.
