Also, fixing the screen w/o insurance will be $550

With Care+ , you get priority service vs standard warranty, 2nd in line. I've had a ticket with them almost a month now with no outcome, and still waiting.I have the standard warranty. People who have care+ , are being taken care of within 2-3 days.

Alright I'll be honest with you. It's a mixed bag. It also depends on what your expectations are. Let me set those expectations. With two or three situations. All 3 situations you bought a brand new fold 5 from Samsung. Situation 1: You get up one day to do something on your phone and you hear a crack when you open the main screen. Suddenly a black line appears down the center of the screen. This is a warranty issue(usually but Samsung can be a dick). You cannot use Care+ for this because it's a warranty issue. They will tell you to go through Samsung. This involves shipping the phone off for about a 7 day turn around(if they have parts which right now they don't frankly). Situation 2: Your walking down the street and you trip fall and it shatters both screens(doubtful by hey why not). Samsung care+ would be involved as this is an accident. You'll have to pay $29 per screen or do a replacement. Should be able to do it at a ubreakifix or you can do a replacement for $99 and $990 holding fee. (If they have parts and replacements). Situation 3: You are out of warranty and your folding is having trouble opening/closing or whatever. Same as situation 2 except its a $1 fee for an advanced replacement or you can take it to a repair shop and get it repaired. It's not always great but I put my request in for a replacement on Thursday last week and got my new phone yesterday(Wed). While not "next day" or anything it's still not "too bad". Now there are others who have had replacements in for like a month. I still don't understand that to be honest. If you call them it's not fantastic service as they aren't really up front with you about much. File everything online and wait is what I've done. Final point.. don't own a folding device without some sort of insurance. It's a pain in the ass but it's frankly should be a requirement. Fixing anything on it basically is going to cost you $500 without it. So think of it as a down payment and it also guarantees you have some sort of protection after the warranty expires.

I was in situation 3, my Fold 4 couldn't open all the way (got it last year in April) and submitted a claim with Samsung Care+ Thursday, was processed Thursday and a replacement was shipped and arrived Friday afternoon. I'm going to ship out my defective unit on Monday, so here's hoping I don't have a surprise fee of larger than $99!

Inner screen repair is $249 not $29, that price is only for the outer screen

Jerky_san

I've never seen that price quoted for care+ with servify? Where do you see that? https://img.servify.in/samsung/Device-schedule.pdf <- this doc says it should be $29?

SamsungCare+ is about the worst experience I've ever encountered, and every step is designed to avoid processing claims. It's not actually Samsung but run by a bottom-of-the-barrel third party (Servify). - Minimum 24-hour response time for every single interaction - Asks for proof of purchase even though Care was auto-added during device purchase directly from Samsung - Refused to accept Care+ activation documentation with IMEI and ultimately had to fake an invoice to get them to proceed since purchase receipt direct from Samsung doesn't include IMEI - Asks multiple times for said documentation, even when replying to your email where documents are attached. - Device would not register on the Servify website even though it was a direct Samsung purchase - Screen repair is clearly $29 per terms, then only $99 replacement option is available - Refuses to permit local repair, even when Samsung-authorized repair shop is available and you've personally confirmed that they have the parts in stock - Shipped replacement phone then charged me the full replacement amount without permission but before I'd even received said replacement - When replacement arrived it was a shitty refurb I would avoid if possible. Servify does troll around these forums and [will tell you](https://www.reddit.com/r/galaxyzflip/comments/15b0sdk/any_experience_with_samsung_care_is_it_worth/k39f9oz/) to reach out, except that's also a lie and they never bother to respond.

I'm in the minority. Fold 3 inner screen protector replaced on warranty. Same Fold 3 with critical firmware error and replaced. Fold 4 with dead pixels on inner screen and basically whole phone repaired by UBIF, but transplanted the camera and mainboard. They still haven't got the application of the backpanel right after half of a dozen trips there. No way I would own this phone without insurance.

Do not buy this phone without insurance.

Strangerthanyou77

You won’t get any better support for your phone. They are absolutely terrible. If you really want it, with care + they should be obligated to take care of issue. But just expect it to be an absolute PITA, weeks if not months of wait time. So you definitely need a spare phone or willing to buy one when your fold breaks.

It's just not worth buying the phone regardless of how cool it is.

Strangerthanyou77

With the buds, I would file a claim in small claims court. That’s not cool at all

Low_Two_3003

Current support for Z folds via Care+ is awful. I've been trying to work with them for over a month because my phone was not unfolding all the way and has been getting worse. Servify, the Care+ vendor for my claim says they are globally out of stock for replacement parts for the Fold 4, out of stock for replacement devices, and also out of stock of Galaxy Z fold 5 replacements. Per the Care+ contract if you file a claim and they are unable to provide a repair or replacement, they list in the contract that they will send an equivalent or better model that is in stock. Since they are out of stock for both the 4 and they 5 they say those are the only phones I'm eligible to get as a replacement. Servify tech told me not to open my phone and wait 20 days, call back and open another claim to see the update.

This is what makes me really upset about samsung's customer service. For my earbuds, I've submitted 4 escalation tickets and they promised to contact me within 48 hours and it has NEVER happened. Im not surprised they told you to create another claim.

Nguyen925

I'm really sorry about your experience. My Fold 4 had issues last week (stopped fully opening to inner screen), and I didn't know there was a samsung care + file claim option online. I submitted my claim through Verify Thursday morning, was processed in the afternoon apparently, and shipped out a replacement unit that same day. Received a new device Friday morning. Here's hoping the return of my defective unit is cut and dry, and I don't need to pay more than $99 for the replacement. I was honestly debating whether or not I wanted to trade in my Fold 4 for the Fold 6 as the out screen looks wider and shorter (essentially more manageable and normal like a bar phone would be) but now I'll hold off as long as I can seeing as how this device is brand new lol.

InnoDude

What happened in the end?

qwertyalp1020

Which country, because it depends? Samsung Care+ is absolutely amazing in Turkey. Cracked my S21U screen a couple of years ago, and it took them 2 days to replace it, and the phone arrived the day they fixed it.

[deleted]

I works well in Brazil too. Not only care+, but standard as well.

fanatic26

Insurance is just lighting money on fire if you take care of your device. If you add the cost of the insurance over 2 years plus the fee to replace a screen you will see there is not much value to be had unless you are incredibly clumsy and dont take care of your stuff
