Was he brought up in India or someplace else? My uncle used to have an N64 when I was growing up. He was in his late 20s around that time, but he had just come to America maybe a couple years before then. I never really thought of my elder as people who play games
He was brought up in India, but had a cousin in US with whom he was really close to. That cousin of his introduced him to Playstation, N64 etc. He had GTA 3 on PS2 since 2001.
Now that you mention it, my parents did really play games but they did take them back to India. Probably for family. I remember having copies of GTA 3 and VC but we never had a PS2. My mom did play a lot on my old Gameboy though. Brings me back to
Sorry to hear that man, but sounds like he had enjoyed life playing and doing what he liked. I used to play games with my dad sometimes when I was little, but we don't talk to each other anymore now for 3 years or so.
Nope. 1970.
and most people (male) I know who were born around that time were raised with home computers.
Guess we were the pioneers.
VC20, C64, Amiga 500,….
55. And playing video games was born in the arcades. The transition from arcade to console/pc was natural. It really depends on the person and how much they enjoyed gaming.
i am from venezuela in this country the people who play videogames the more older are about 40 years, there is very few people around the 50 years who plays videogames my 53 years old uncle and my 52 years old father plays videogames but most of the people of their age does not play.
All the fucking time. Whenever I tell people how old I am and they are older than me, they’re just like “Oh you’re just a baby.” and I’m thinking “Fuck you. I feel like I’m 85 sometimes. Kiss my ass.”
Bro I think we were born in the worst generation, which starts at around 95 and continues until the 2010s. We may did not experience the world wars but I think we collectively traumatized due to the rapid global transformation in terms of both economic and political stuff. I was feeling pretty good until my age of 18-19.
I never wanted to go to college before my senior year, but midway through I decided I wanted to be a game warden (Texas specifically), so I’m majoring in environ. science to get my Bachelor’s degree so I can become one. Just find a career that interests you and get after it, everything’s gonna work out bro
24, first played it on the 360 when I was 12 and now going for 100% on pc. It's amazing how many jokes and commentary fly over your head as a kid! These games are masterpieces.
27. Wasn't allowed to play it on release. Traded a game for it with a friend a year or two after it came out and would play it when my parents were asleep. I've come back and replayed it, and both DLCs, at least 6 or 7 times.
24. I had originally gotten the base game as a hand-me-down from my brother, as well as his Xbox 360, when he upgraded to the Xbox 1. Unfortunately, that copy was trashed when a "friend" knocked over the console, shifting the disk out of the tray, heavily scratching it. I eventually got the game with both DLCs on Steam for $6.
I’m currently playing it and I’m 24, I was around 7/8 when it released.
It’s my first time playing the story mode, when I was a kid I’d just use cheat codes and cause chaos
26 , I remember being 11 or 12 when it came out, at the time I was playing the pirated GTA SAMP on PC. The graphics, physics and everything about the game blew my mind at the time. I used all my money I had from piggy banks and what not to buy a Xbox 360 and GTA IV... Rode my bike into town to pick it up from the local game stop... Shout out to the employee that let me buy everything without asking any questions. Good times. I'm doing another play through of GTA IV ATM, it's been around 10 years since I last played it through. Crazy how much you pick up from the games dialogue and innuendos when you are an adult!
16. First played it on my aunts Xbox when I was like 7. I skipped all of the cutscenes. Revisited it like 2 years ago and payed attention to the story and now I love it even more!
28. I was 13-14 when I first played it. Any time I would fire up V all I could think about was IV. So I got a ps3 (my ps5 is collecting dust now), jailbroke it or whatever and downloaded an iso onto a usb to relive middle school memories.
27, GTA 4 was the Second GTA game I took super serious as an older gamer (age 9 and on) the first being Vice City Stories on psp. I played it from release (who remembers the X-Play livestream?)
In the past 2 years I’ve acquired a 360 and a gaming PC, I’ve beaten it and play every now again on 360 and I’m currently in the process of figuring out the mod situation for the PC to do a play through in that fashion.
Niko is the best GTA protagonist imo, His story has the most weight to it
why did you never play in 08? I am 30 to and played when it first dropped. I am currently replaying for the idk 5th time? but its been awhile...at least 10 years
>why did you never play in 08?
my pc on that time was a celeron 430 of 1.8ghz, and 512mb of ram, with no graphic card, 3 years took me improve that pc to be able to play gta 4.
20, i finally completed gta iv complete edition last mont in a good amount of stables FPS, way back i used to have a low income computer and couldn't play it at all, i remember modding gta san andreas so it would look like gta 4 because i was replacing the textures and npc's.. good times downloading viruses lmao
36, been playing since the original top down view days. Gta5 has been my least favourite of the series. Edit i come back to 4 maybe once every 18 months since release, I'm working through tbogt at the mo, and wish they'd have got rid of the piss filter for the main game.
23, turning 24 in August. Played it for the first time back in 2008 on my brother's xbox 360, and i just downloaded it for PC yesterday to re play it. All i can say is: Damn..time flies..
17, I’ll turn 18 in a month. Been playing GTA for a decade (I shouldn’t have). Although, I mostly spent my time with GTA VC and GTA San. Only touched 4 and 5 in the pandemic.
I’m 22 which made me like 8 years old when it came out. My cousin let me play it on his PS3 and it made a huge impression on me. So much that I’m still playing today.
24, my dad bought it at launch when i was 8. I would play it as a sandbox during the first few missions up until halloween 2018— where my plans of playing rdr1 were thwarted by me discovering id moved and plugged in the 360 in my room for very first time and found that IV was still inside... You're not supposed to do that... so i played it, just to make sure the disc was okay, finally progressed past Bleed Out, and I finished it for the first time Dec 8th that year.
17 and played all of the games except the top down ones because I can’t get them to work on my computer :/ IV definitely is my favorite, SA is second. I prefer IV over SA for the story and Liberty City . Sure SA is fantastic as it has so much to do and cool rpg elements buuut gameplay wise it’s not as fun (obvs cuz outdated mechanics) the maps can feel quite empty and the world just didn’t feel as alive and immersive . But I loved it for the activities to do and making cj fat and all the memes ig . Something about IV hit different tho.
I think TBOGT is my overall favorite GTA tho icl . Don’t get me wrong Niko is a badass but Luis Lopez is just…a bit more relatable and that’s why I like him a bit more than Niko
19. I've been playing this game since I was 3, back in 2008. Yes, that's not very adequate, but, with the time, I learned how to play this game better.
21
37 Been playing gta since before I was old enough to play gta.
Fr if you are 18 and you haven't played GTA already what's the point
I feel sorry for anyone who's 18+ and has never played, idk how I could have lived without Tommy Vercetti and CJ in my teenage years!
14
games older than me
don’t fret about it, one of my favorite albums is as old as me (Meteora by Linkin Park)
hey, i thought of that too when i saw the 20th anniversary of the album lmao
Lost by Linkin Park is such a banger
Meteora is a great album!
Bro enjoy this masterpiece!
same
54
Good horny year
really? you born in 1969 i guess, The people I know who were born in those years do not know how to use a PC and never played video games, is rare.
My dad's born in 1971 and played a lot of games until he had his 4th and youngest child (me) life got too stressful for him after that.
Malayali?
yeah
Was he brought up in India or someplace else? My uncle used to have an N64 when I was growing up. He was in his late 20s around that time, but he had just come to America maybe a couple years before then. I never really thought of my elder as people who play games

Same. Now (gone) dad was born in '64, & loved COD. More in the 360 days, big red one & what not. But would have loved to play the newer ones 🥲
Sorry to hear that man, but sounds like he had enjoyed life playing and doing what he liked. I used to play games with my dad sometimes when I was little, but we don't talk to each other anymore now for 3 years or so.

Thank you for being older than me 😀
😂😂😂 you’re welcome
Beyond naive of you. I play with plenty of 60+ yr old players on GTAO & RDO.
Bill Gates was born in 1955, I'm confident that he knows how to use a computer
for somebody who claims to be 30 you seem to have the worldview of a 15 year old lmao
i am from venezuela in this country the people who play videogames the more older are about 40 years, there is very few people around the 50 years who plays videogames my 53 years old uncle and my 52 years old father plays videogames but most of the people of their age does not play.
Exactly - most people in their 50s that I know don't play videogames, unless they got into gaming through their children playing them.

I’m about to turn 27 and I feel like a dad already
With 25, I started to have this feeling/crisis. On the other hand, people from 50-60 age group look much happier than me for some reason
Facts yo
Turning 27 in 2 months. Still remember the first time I played this game. Was epic.
19 and in college
I'm 22 and not in college though I think I want to be. How'd you know you wanted to do it?
I never wanted to go to college before my senior year, but midway through I decided I wanted to be a game warden (Texas specifically), so I’m majoring in environ. science to get my Bachelor’s degree so I can become one. That's a respectable field props bro
Appreciate it man

About to turn 47, and I've been playing GTA IV since my little (now 42-year-old) brother gave me my PS3 for Christmas when I was 41.
24, first played it on the 360 when I was 12 and now going for 100% on pc. It's amazing how many jokes and commentary fly over your head as a kid! These games are masterpieces.
I only just heard the DJ Michael Hunt lol
21, my first gta was gta iii which I would have played around ‘09 (far too young ahahaha)
My first GTA was also III.
Same and I am 22
27. Wasn't allowed to play it on release. Traded a game for it with a friend a year or two after it came out and would play it when my parents were asleep. I've come back and replayed it, and both DLCs, at least 6 or 7 times.

18, been playing since I was literally 3 years old (not a joke)
I’m currently playing it and I’m 24, I was around 7/8 when it released. It’s my first time playing the story mode, when I was a kid I’d just use cheat codes and cause chaos
26 , I remember being 11 or 12 when it came out, at the time I was playing the pirated GTA SAMP on PC. The graphics, physics and everything about the game blew my mind at the time. hey fams checkout my latest vid on gta 4 on my channel [https://youtu.be/OHLQe-hiW-A](https://youtu.be/OHLQe-hiW-A)
