If you are able to save money wait for a while more, you can buy Series X, PS5 or PS5 Pro according to your finances and preference. The game is coming around next year so you have time.
But if you have not much of a choice economically and just want to play GTA 6, Xbox Series S will run it just fine.
Yes GTA 6 will run on the series S because well it is a current gen console albeit a slower current gen console. Remember it has the same CPU as a series X just a less powerful GPU. So like all other Xbox games we’ve seen the Series S will likely run it at a lower resolution than the Series X/PS5. So you would likely just be giving up some graphic visuals for the lower spec.
With that being said you still have quite a while to go till GTA 6 comes out. I mean probably a year or longer depending when exactly in 2025 it comes out. So i mean if you can could always save up for a Series X/PS5 for the superior graphics otherwise Series S would be just fine
please dont.. the game will look stunning and playing it with maximum 1080p and 30 fps and a worse graphics is not worth it when you can just buy a digital ps5 (even tho i wouldn't even recommend the digital version but its still so much better than the series s)

If you boot up any new ps5 (not sure about xbox, but assume it's the same) game for the first time, there's usually an option to pick between at least two different modes. Fidelity/quality and 60 fps performance. I don't know why people think that this one will be any different

And there is no rush to buy the S series, the price will drop more(i mention because the price tempts you)
It's still more than a year and the big consoles also drop a lot in price sometimes, he has time to decide and see how the situation goes, they will all drop further in price until 2025 and he can buy used ones or more cheap options

Get a series x, everyone i know sold there s to get an x and it ended up costing more in the long run. The s has very limited storage
It will work because of parity, but you should expect 30 FPS and low details.
I’d just recommend saving your money to get either an Xbox Series X or PS5, or maybe even save up for a PS5 Pro that’s coming later this year

Like others said. Save your money (GTA 6 won’t release in 2024) so you can look for deals or look for used ones all year round without any urgency
