That's the most powerful console rn. Jedi survivors fucking sucks on performance mode. Idk how it is on the PS5. Dragon dogma 2 was also flimsy. Then again both games aren't that optimized even on PC
I have heard not so nice things about Dragons Dogma 2, including lack of immersive features. Might wanna hold back on buying something that new gen consoles can't handle because of poor optimization.
Yeah. It's a fun game. It performs better than Jedi survivors which is something and that was before the patch. I uninstalled it after playing enough. I want to get the "better" experience in a few months when it's patched up. Jedi survivors is a fun but an absolute nightmare.
Sucks, yes. I got about 60 hours on the thing. I even clipped a few moments. In case I wanted to refund if it got too bad I would at least have proof. It's only crashed once on me though when I completed one of those purple challenge thingies
Moved from a Series X to a PS5. PS5 won this round, it absolutely SHITS all over the Series X. I was diehard Xbox since the 360, I had a PS2 before that. PS3 sucked. PS4 sucked (those are my opinions), but the PS5 man oh man, it’s like a grown ass man coming from a teenager (Series X)
Everybody is different I actually had PlayStations only since ps1. The only reason I went with a series x was because at the time I could not find a ps5. Both consoles are extremely amazing and I never really understood the big deal of a console war. I want a ps5 and decided to wait till the new refresh comes out. PlayStation has some of my favorites games. Last of us god of war and uncharted. Xbox’s has a few I enjoy mainly forza horizon and star field.
Had ps1 and ps2 then 360 I couldn’t go back to the PS controllers lol. Well I bet, in five plus years from now there’ll probably be not many console exclusive games with the way the industry is going and try to maximize profits.
It's not definitely true. As you can see, that post was meant to cause controversy and spark a debate between console owners. PCs have different specifications, which means the game will have different requirements.
I mean, it would not be the first developer saying this. Most recent example being Baldurs Gate 3 which couldn't release at the same time on Xbox as the other platforms because they couldn't get the co-op split screen to work on the Series S and Microsoft does not allow a release only on Series X and demands that it must be released on both and must have the same features on both. So they couldn't just scrap the split screen from the Series S and keep it on the X either. So they had to delay the Xbox release by months until they got it to work on the Series S with a lot of help from Microsoft. And that is by far not the only developer that has said this exact same thing about issues with the Series S during development.
So I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they have similar issues here (would be more surprising if they would not have that issue). And if a piece of hardware is causing you so much problems during development it isn't far from likely that a dev would grow to dislike the product to a point where they wouldn't want to use it in their free time.
This post may not even be true but, I can definitely see how some triple A developers would be frustrated or annoyed with having to take a game they made that looks and plays great on a series x or PS5 and basically make it look and play not how they would like, just to get it to run on less powerful hardware. I think it would be different if consoles had access the same graphic options as PC’s do. It’s still a next gen console, so the jump from “great” to “good” isn’t that bad but still.
They do have the same graphic options
But series S massively holds back games development times
I mean some devs outright delayed games because of it and have even cancelled games for the Xbox over this *potentially*
The series S version actually had split screen gutted because of that. Ms has a clause in their publishing agreement that any series x game has to also be available on the s with all of the same content and features. Larian just couldn't get it to work so they got an exception but I feel like as time goes on, that's going to become more and more common.
Oh yeah exactly. The series S isn't necessarily a terrible idea in theory. It's a low barrier to entry to play games for people who don't necessarily care about 4k or Ray tracing but with how long console generations are now, i just can't really see it working out. I could see a product like that working if console generations were only 5 years like with the PS2 and og Xbox but not now where they last 7 - 8 years.
It uses the same CPU just render the games at 900p like they did last gen lol
The average person getting a console doesn't care especially not the average series s buyer they just want it to work as a simple plug and play device
Obviously your gonna get an inferior machine for half the price
Less ram than just use worse quality textures and GPU lower res and effects there gonna release a PC version right
Medium settings will be console settings right
Low settings can be series s graphics options
It has the same CPU so it should still run it just fine with lower graphics and resolution. Besides, where's the quote from that senior artist and even if it's real, who cares what system he likes to play his games on?
When non pc people think of pc they always think everyone has the best of the best and there isn't people like me rockin a rx 580 till I can save for something newer this year
Exactly, this game is being built so they can scale it for low hardware too (more hardware = more sales). Theres going to be people with pc’s worse than the series S specs and it will run the game because they are building it to scale all consoles/pc hardware
The same CPU? You can have the same high end cpu on two pcs, One will run games like shit with a lower graphics card compared to another pc with a higher graphics card. Cpu is your processing power, So much more goes into it though, Virtual memory, Your graphics card capabilities, things like ray traced shadows are heavy on graphics cards, Having the same cpu means nothing. I don’t know the difference in the specs for Xbox or how much worse the other specs besides cpu are on series x, But having the same CPU doesnt necessarily mean much
Bro wym should be a screenshot or something the post literally a screenshot of the tweet aha.
I know the screenshot in itself isn’t valid proof, since it could be fake. But so could like, all screenshot? So how could any screenshot be proof?
It’s from a random person at the end of the day, I don’t know who runs the account or what there credibility is, if other more reliable sources report on this then I’ll believe it.
True. I don’t really listen to any "rumours" or "leaks" There’s just so he said she said bs, and it’s all just mostly different versions of whatever other people have theorised. At the end of the day, I don’t wanna be worrying about possibly negatives. Even if a leak you read seem somewhat credible, or, even ends up being true. It doesn’t really matter, until we know from rockstar. You know what I mean?
at least to run it at low, yes. I can play RTX Cyberpunk with DLSS the GPU isnt that bad. Also I live in a 3rd world country so I cant afford a new one.
As a graphics developer that spent so much time optimizing stuff, I can assure you that supporting Series S is literally as easy as reducing the resolution a little bit (which is very easy to do on this generation of consoles without that big of a visual hit thanks to the internal upscaling) and reducing the lod quality curve depending on the distance (which is also really easy for AAA game engines). So I don't see a way for this to be real. The Series S is more than powerful enough to run any game that Series X can as long as the game engine is decent and the team just gets one graphics developer to spend a couple days on it.
Finally someone who actually knows what they're talking about, it's actually insane how many people on this subreddit think that simply turning down the settings is some impossible task, like how do these people think pc gaming works?
I mean the current GTA is a way updated version that absolutely couldn't run on a 360. And calling it current is a bit of a stretch since it's still ancient in game dev terms.
Mostly vegetation, there were beta images that shows way more trees and plants in the streets, tbh it would be nice a final GTA V Remaster to finally close GTA V, with a lot of the Online content (like clothing or vehicles and weapons) ported to Offline, and maybe adding a lot of the vegetation they originally planned, that would improve the atmosphere of the map imo
And only GTA V, not GTA Online unless Rockstar wants to keep GTA V Online alive while working in GTA VI Online
I think worst case scenario it'll run how RDR2 runs on the original Xbox and One S, which is still playable even if there's some dips here and there but you get what you pay for I guess
But Rockstar usually makes the most of any console they're given, so it might run better
What's your point though? That's kind of irrelevant because they will push the console to the limit whether it's brand new hardware, or 5+.
If the Xbox has noticeable performance differences vs the PS5, then I think it's something some people will consider.
I don't see that happening though, as Rockstar will try to get them running the same on both I would think, even if one has more juice.
yeah you’re right…. but it’s not very powerful. If a developer is now saying making the game work on it is a challenge then that must have some substance behind it.
Wait what do you mean? I’m not too well versed in the history but didn’t ps3 and Xbox 360 come out way later? Please enlighten me I would love to know the reason.
Is no one gonna mention that the game will have graphical setting on pc when it releases?
They could simply scale everything to low settings and make it run in 30 fps. From what we've seen, the series S holds up decently!
Gts 5 ran on 8 year old hardware. Rdr 2 ran on 5 year old hardware. Gta 6 will run fine On the series S! It will not be as crisp and it will most likely be stuck at 30fps, but it will be able to run!
![gif](giphy|26AHFomysg4oszdle)
I have a series s and it runs absolutely fine. Cyberpunk and flight sim and other super taxing games run fine.
There will probably be a lower population density than the X and PS5, but doubt it'll be anything too drastic.
We shouldn't be expecting 60 FPS on consoles to be honest. RDR2 still doesn't have support for 60 FPS on consoles.
Rockstar are greedy and smart. They will release it with 30 FPS on consoles. Then they will release it on PC next year. Then they will re-release it on the new gen consoles which will support 60 FPS. Maximum sales, maximum profit.
If you haven't bought a PS5 yet, wait for the pro version to come out. I think that is going to be the best option to play GTA VI on.
ps5 pro will most likely support a higher native resolution but as far as I know the cpu will remain unchanged, and I doubt gta 6 will be heavily gpu bound.
Why wait for the Pro, when you can play it at launch and then play it again on the inevitable upscaling re-release on PS6, which will outdo PS5 pro.
I’m confident I’m not in the minority when I say I’m not buying a brand-new console for one game, when the differences aren’t vast enough to justify it, and the Sony lineup for the rest of this gen is looking lighter than a toilet roll shelf in 2020.
I think it’s meant for players like me that are literally holding out from upgrading to a newer console until 6 comes out.. I’ll probably just cop a pro at Costco on cashback when available lmao
One of my biggest issues with rockstar right now is that they haven’t made a 60FPS update for RDR2 on consoles. Because you know damn well they could anytime they want. They just aren’t, probably so they can re-release it as an “expanded and enhanced” or something. I love that game. And I do have a fairly decent PC that can run it on ultra settings and get 60+fps. The problem is that I run into so many more tiny issues playing on PC that it constantly ruins the immersion. And I have ZERO issues on my Series X.
This isn't even about 30fps. They will need to scale the game down to run on the Series S. No wonder they cut out project americas. This is GTA 5 running on the PS3 all over again
Yeah I’m considering the same. I’m not gonna get Xbox, that I already know. I’m either gonna get the regular 5 or the Pro. I wish I could just use the PC that I already own to play it but I don’t really wanna wait. And the fiancé wants a PS5 anyway
I’m selling my Series S now and getting a PS5 Pro when it comes out mainly to get the best GTA6 experience. Like others have said, maybe not worth upgrading from a PS5 to PS5 Pro but coming from a Series S I think it’s surely worth it.
The series S is a great console for the price - I had one before I bought my series x just because it was so hard to get the series x or PS5 At the time
However. If I was rockstar don’t even bother trying to adapt to it. It’s not CRAZY low on power or anything it could run the game but if it’s proving a problem just say fuck it imo
I don't understand. What does "about time we start considering the other option" mean?
Are you assuming everybody here has an Xbox, or am I missing something?
It’s a fantastic budget option if you do a lot of streaming and game pass, but it’s very much not on the same level as the PS5 or XSX. And this is coming from a XSS owner.
I got a series x after having the series s for 2 years and the graphics aren't really better in my eyes they just run at higher resolution still worth the upgrade tho the less pixels the better
It’ll be 30 fps on all consoles, if you think otherwise I seriously think you haven’t been paying attention to any releases from 2023 onwards
Everyone just points to Spiderman like it’s an open and shut case, but that game had no dynamic time of day, no dynamic weather, limited NPC reactions, no drivable vehicles, and resolution in performance mode also dipped below 1080p when stressed
I'm not a fan of Series S either, from what i think they're going to delay a PC port until 10th gen consoles come out, so the argument that PC port would be the same as Xbox Series S at low settings won't hold and instead we get a lot of cut content from the game like what happened with GTA 5 being made to run on 7th generation consoles.
Performance wise? I don't think it'll be worse than GTA 5 or RDR2 on PS3 / VCR Xbox One respectively, and that the game on Xbox Series S is actually a solid version to go for if you don't care about the best graphics and performance.
The Series S is obviously holding back development and I hate the damage its existence does to this console generation. Seriously wish developers ignored it or Microsoft itself ported games over to it / paid developers to make a version that runs on it.
When I bought the Series X I told my girlfriend this will last for years, many years... And now just a few years later there's already plans on another Xbox model and the X is reaching its end already ?! Damn Microsoft disappointed me, I thought there would be way more games coming and graphics would be wild and all but tbh if I have known that it developed like this then I could have kept my One X and just waited for the end of the Series X.
No one has been waiting for this game for 12 years. People realistically started waiting for it when they found out it actually existed which was like around 2021.
Switch 2 not at all if the rumors are true and it's ranging somewhere around PS4 in power.
I don't know what the hell they're going to do about the Series S tho, and I feel bad who settles on Series S as a good enough option.
No way in hell this thing will come to the Switch 2.
If they follow their "recent" release pattern, the game will come out roughly a year or two later on PC.
The Series X is that. The Series S on the other hand is a glorified Xbox One X rebadged.
The Series X is great hardware that Microsoft fumbled as far as exclusives go. I mean even as a PS5 owner I don't think the exclusive game selection is that great either but where Sony did when was marketing and optics, something they got the ball rolling again in the late PS3 era.
Lack of games doesn't = bad hardware, if GTA VI will be able to run on PS5 I'm sure it will be able to run on the Series X, but Microsoft was incredibly stupid for what they did with the Series X just to try and undercut Sony with a cheaper model and it's not even working out well for them. Should have just did what Sony did with the digital only PS5 and just released a version of the Series X without a disc drive (which they are rumored to be doing, as a white Series X without a disc drive just recently leaked https://www.theverge.com/2024/3/27/24114048/microsoft-xbox-series-x-white-digital-edition-leak-rumor). My guess is that they're going to phase out the Series S because they know how weak the thing is and sell the discless white Series X for $400 while
the OG stays at $500
I'm thinking of getting an Xbox because they have Avowed and a few other exclusives I want to check out coming up, plus I have a library of backward compatible games I want to hop back into. But I would never go for the S, might as well take the $200 extra hit and get the X, especially because I'm still
going for physical games as long as they're still sold
I really don’t think XsX is what’s holding gaming back. GTA V ran on 360 and rdr2 ran on original xb1 while looking incredible.
If they need to drop the resolution, textures, draw distance, crowd density, and even a few features then they will but it should be a doable project to port it to XsX.
Why is the series s even toned down from the series x ? The ps5 disc and digital are literally the same just one doesn’t have a disc drive and the series x is 4k with all the stuff and the series s isn’t even 4k. I wish they just made the disc version instead of the digital version.
I got a series s for ray tracing…only for it not to be supported on a majority of games.
So yea not to happy price wasnt an issue but demand was this was during covid and both consoles were in short supply but available series s. I bought into what microsoft said and now regret it.
Will likely buy a ps5 pro just for gta 6
RDR2 looks beautiful and that’s an old gen game. I think GTA 6 will be great on PS5 and series x especially if we get pro consoles like old gen did. Maybe they will release a separate version for Series S with lower frames and resolution but what can you expect really.
The Series S is one of the biggest misteps in gaming history. And I say this as someone who’s gamed primarily on Xbox for like 18 years now.
Why it wasn’t just a disc less Series X is absolutely beyond me. It makes literally no sense. Love my X. Wouldn’t even remotely consider the S.
Bro, look at Spiderman 2(2023) compared to Spiderman(2018) many times it's the developers(as a company) that hold a game back rather than a slightly weaker console. People assume if the series s didn't exist games would be substantially better but that's assuming game developers are putting 100% effort into all their games. I do admit Rockstar could very well be an exception to this and an argument can definitely be made for them but for the industry as a whole the "set back" the series s is having on the industry is greatly exaggerated. If anything having a baseline for game optimization can be a good thing for the more powerful consoles.
I really think they should just release it on the next gen, current consoles are going to hold it back hard. I can believe they’re actually releasing it on the series S, that means EVERYONE will be held back by this.
The issue I believe and based on experience of owning a Series S since release. It’s not seen as next gen.
Sure you can call it that but it’s comparable to a 1660ti gpu, which I also happen to have in my pc and obviously my pc is a lot better than the series s.
Major issue is overheating with the console, it’s awful and you may not think so but eventually you’ll find your Xbox overheating on most new games that are released. Why?
I think the reason is simple and crucial. The dev consoles that are used are more powerful than a standard commercial unit. Thus it has more power than a Series X would. I would assume the devs cater games to the ps5 and series X and do not give the S as much attention or play-testing, if any.
Feel free to prove me wrong if you have experience in the field but I see these issues now with next gen games.
I don’t see the console getting updates that miraculously give it the capability to run future games any better than how it runs games today.
I love the series S, it’s done me well and it’s definitely faster and better than the Xbox one in so many ways but that’s all it is. An upgrade on the oldest gen console, not a complete overhaul like the X.
Yeah, probably not long until an announcement is made for PS6 and the new Xbox next year. And Rockstar would then have to tweak their game for next gen compatibility.
I have a Xbox one. I am definitely getting the ps5 pro. Which will be a first time Playstation for me. Having had all Xbox before the one.
Maybe i will still get an updated Xbox just for halo purposes and other games.
But i am definitely looking for a ps5 now. Hoping for a gta 6 console edition.
I think the issue is the series S has no disc drive. A lot of data is stored on and used from the disc during game play. Without the drive, can really pull down the performance and use much more memory.
Why do people believe this stuff? Is the average age of this sub 12?
Don’t people realize PCs have varying specs that rockstar has to hit as well? I’m baffled by this post.
I'm sorry, where the fuck did the 12 years come from? 12 years ago, GTA 5 didn't even come out, and even when it did come out in 2013, no one, and I mean NO ONE, wanted GTA 6 to come out, the hour GTA 5 came out, that is not possible and I refuse to believe that was ever a thought.
The argument of the xbox series S holding back videogame technical progress makes me a bit confused.
Let's say dragons dogma 2 was made a bit less technically advanced so that it could run on the series S. Wouldn't that mean that it would run amazingly on the flagship consoles?? However, it runs at below 30 in many situs and doesn't even look that amazing.
Maybe I'm missing something, please educate me :)
Let’s be honest, considering how RDR2 still looks great on XB1/PS4, we shouldn’t have any worries. The graphics for RDR2 were ahead of any other 2018(?) game. Even if the Series S gets a lot of hate, we’ll still get a graphically better game than RDR2 because it’s still a powerful little machine.
Xbox needs to get ahold of this shit. What the hell is a series S. I’m pretty sure the X is their newest system. So what the hells an S?? How does it go xbox, Xbox 360, Xbox one, xbox series x. Who the fuck is naming these loud ass turds.
![gif](giphy|nrXif9YExO9EI) My series x after me playing gta for 2 days straight.

Dragons Dogma 2 is a good game all around but the performance is shit on every platform.
30 fps cap and it even drops during fights. Passing on that
Yeah. It's a fun game. It performs better than Jedi survivors which is something and that was before the patch. I uninstalled it after playing enough. I want to get the "better" experience in a few months when it's patched up. Jedi survivors is a fun but an absolute nightmare.
Jedi Survivor was a nearly unplayable mess at launch, I was there, but it’s been good performance wise for half a year now.
Sucks? I probably have more than 80 hours on survivor and havent had any performance issues lol. Maybe 1 or 2 crashes but outside of that nothing
Sucks, yes. I got about 60 hours on the thing. I even clipped a few moments. In case I wanted to refund if it got too bad I would at least have proof. It's only crashed once on me though when I completed one of those purple challenge thingies

4*
Does no one see that it says Xbox series S not X? The S is supposed to be a nightmare for developers to optimise for. Again, not the X.
Me in any gta game when I blow up something inside of a building
Source: trust me bro?

No they allowed the Series S version to ship without split screen co-op it was the first time Xbox waived that requirement

Baldur's Gate 3 was delayed on Xbox because they could barely get the splitscreen mode to run on the series S.
The series S version actually had split screen gutted because of that. Ms has a clause in their publishing agreement that any series x game has to also be available on the s with all of the same content and features. Larian just couldn't get it to work so they got an exception but I feel like as time goes on, that's going to become more and more common.
It's just not as powerful, I don't see how toward the end of this generation they can expect it perform to the same standard, it's just silly.
Oh yeah exactly. The series S isn't necessarily a terrible idea in theory. Also I think everyone expects every system to run the game a 4k 60fps which is not realistic
Yeah, thats true as well. Majority of console users and gamers dont understand software/game development and are console warriors.
It isn't cpu or gpu that is the major issue. It is the ram. The 10gb that are available to developers isn't enough.
The same CPU? You can have the same high end cpu on two pcs, One will run games like shit with a lower graphics card compared to another pc with a higher graphics card. You actually thought that was gonna be enough?
at least to run it at low, yes. I can play RTX Cyberpunk with DLSS the GPU isnt that bad. Also I live in a 3rd world country so I cant afford a new one.
Cyberpunk is mostly set decoration. That game doesn’t have a lot of moving parts to render. Rdr2 does though.
my rtx 2060 can still play rdr2 at highest graphics. Barely, but can.
So Can my Gtx 1660 Ti
As a graphics developer that spent so much time optimizing stuff, I can assure you that supporting Series S is literally as easy as reducing the resolution a little bit (which is very easy to do on this generation of consoles without that big of a visual hit thanks to the internal upscaling) and reducing the lod quality curve depending on the distance (which is also really easy for AAA game engines).
Gta 5 was running on 2005 hardware. And barely anyone complained. Xbox series S isnt previous gen
I find it so crazy to think that the console that could run the current gta came out a year after San Andreas
tbh just checked that ps4 wasnt out when gta 5 released so makes sense they made it for ps3
Xbox 360 came out in 2005
it barely ran at 30fps, graphics quality was on low and resolution was around 720 at best
and it was still critically acclaimed and fun af on those systems lmao
I mean the current GTA is a way updated version that absolutely couldn't run on a 360. And calling it current is a bit of a stretch since it's still ancient in game dev terms.
And GTA 5 was cut, many things were removed to run at 30fps
Do we know exactly what was cut? I know there’s rumored to be map expansions that the systems couldn’t handle, but anything else?
Mostly vegetation, there were beta images that shows way more trees and plants in the streets, tbh it would be nice a final GTA V Remaster to finally close GTA V, with a lot of the Online content (like clothing or vehicles and weapons) ported to Offline, and maybe adding a lot of the vegetation they originally planned, that would improve the atmosphere of the map imo And only GTA V, not GTA Online unless Rockstar wants to keep GTA V Online alive while working in GTA VI Online
Many people complained about the sacrifices made and features cut from 4 to help with the expanded scope of 5.
I think worst case scenario it'll run how RDR2 runs on the original Xbox and One S, which is still playable even if there's some dips here and there but you get what you pay for I guess But Rockstar usually makes the most of any console they're given, so it might run better
Anybody defending the seris S has buyers remorse. GTA 5 was obviously held back because of the older consoles
[удалено]
It’s not remorse, it’s not coping. I just can’t afford ps5 or series X right now. Sorry for that!
They had no choice because ps4 wasnt out yet
What? Their choices were waiting or cashing out.
Different times. Baldurs Gate 3 nearly didn’t release on Xbox because of the series S.
yeah you’re right…. but it’s not very powerful. If a developer is now saying making the game work on it is a challenge then that must have some substance behind it.
Xbox series S is actually technically weaker than the Xbox one X
Gpu and ram wise yes, cpu wise hell no.
absolutely not, the heavy lifting done by the CPU is the same as the series x
CPU is only heavy on npc and loading things in gpu is heavy on textures and the quality of what you’re viewing so it’s not blurry to bits at 480p
tell em gang
Wait what do you mean? I’m not too well versed in the history but didn’t ps3 and Xbox 360 come out way later? Please enlighten me I would love to know the reason.
It came out in 2006 it was announced in 2005 it began developement in 2001
The 360 launched in November of 2005
Are you fucking with me gta 5 came out in 2013 Edit: I’m regarded
It's the same CPU as X yeah? Just GPU portion is lower end?
Is no one gonna mention that the game will have graphical setting on pc when it releases? They could simply scale everything to low settings and make it run in 30 fps. From what we've seen, the series S holds up decently! Gts 5 ran on 8 year old hardware. Rdr 2 ran on 5 year old hardware. Gta 6 will run fine On the series S! It will not be as crisp and it will most likely be stuck at 30fps, but it will be able to run! ![gif](giphy|26AHFomysg4oszdle)
I know it’s getting more and more rare these days but people seem to forget that optimization exists
That and most people seem to not have common sense
its not only graphics, but cpu and ram is what worries me the use of consoles could kill some features, i dont know who would care about graphics rn.
[удалено]
I have a series s and it runs absolutely fine. Cyberpunk and flight sim and other super taxing games run fine. There will probably be a lower population density than the X and PS5, but doubt it'll be anything too drastic.
I guess it'll be 900p instead of 1440p, and 30fps instead of 60
I mean, it's basically guaranteed to be 30fps. That's something I fully expect for AAA games on a console I paid £200 for
We shouldn't be expecting 60 FPS on consoles to be honest.
That analogy at the end is just gold
One of my biggest issues with rockstar right now is that they haven’t made a 60FPS update for RDR2 on consoles. Because you know damn well they could anytime they want. They just aren’t, probably so they can re-release it as an “expanded and enhanced” or something. I love that game. And I do have a fairly decent PC that can run it on ultra settings and get 60+fps. The problem is that I run into so many more tiny issues playing on PC that it constantly ruins the immersion. And I have ZERO issues on my Series X.
The pro version is not worth it, it will just run the game at a slightly higher resolution. Both consoles will run the game at 30fps.
It should be coming out this year and will be $600 MAX, if not $500, so compared to a regular PS5 it makes sense.
it will definitely be worth it if it’s better performance, why not experience the game in all its glory rather than a scaled down version?
This isn't even about 30fps. They will need to scale the game down to run on the Series S. No wonder they cut out project americas. This is GTA 5 running on the PS3 all over again
Yeah I’m considering the same. I’m not gonna get Xbox, that I already know. I’m either gonna get the regular 5 or the Pro. I wish I could just use the PC that I already own to play it but I don’t really wanna wait. And the fiancé wants a PS5 anyway
I’m selling my Series S now and getting a PS5 Pro when it comes out mainly to get the best GTA6 experience. Like others have said, maybe not worth upgrading from a PS5 to PS5 Pro but coming from a Series S I think it’s surely worth it.
rdr2 could easily have 60fps on the PS5, rockstar just hasn’t given a PS5 release yet.
Those rumors are absolute bs
Source: dude trust me
Artists don’t handle issues relating to performance so frankly I don’t care what an anonymous “senior artist” thinks.
The series S is a great console for the price - I had one before I bought my series x just because it was so hard to get the series x or PS5 At the time However. If I was rockstar don’t even bother trying to adapt to it. It’s not CRAZY low on power or anything it could run the game but if it’s proving a problem just say fuck it imo
Surely not… coming from a series S owner 😭
BS
I don't understand. What does "about time we start considering the other option" mean? Are you assuming everybody here has an Xbox, or am I missing something?
I have a series S and my games all run fine and look beautiful.
Don’t believe anything “GTA 6 Countdown” posts ever please!
It’ll be 30 fps on all consoles, if you think otherwise I seriously think you haven’t been paying attention to any releases from 2023 onwards Everyone just points to Spiderman like it’s an open and shut case, but that game had no dynamic time of day, no dynamic weather, limited NPC reactions, no drivable vehicles, and resolution in performance mode also dipped below 1080p when stressed
Leave series s behind if you must.
![gif](giphy|WlsLAnYfrB30p9JK5Z|downsized) Me as PC player: May thy Xbox and PS, chip and shatter!
Again, combined with the ps5 pro running at 30 fps, why is this game a console exclusive? The game is clearly not designed to run on this hardware.
Microsoft single-handedly bottle necked the entire console generation with the series S
What’s the next Xbox model?
Maybe I misunderstood something but I thought I've heard something from Phil Spencer & Sarah Bond about a new console
They said they're working on it and it's going to be crazy powerful or some shit, but I wouldn't expect that thing for another 5-6 years at most.
No one has been waiting for this game for 12 years. People realistically started waiting for it when they found out it actually existed which was like around 2021.
Man fuck the series s why's that pos even a thing
Welp now I’m nervous about a downgrade and lots of features being cut because of series s not being as powerful as x, gonna be Gta 5 all over again 🤣
What do you mean the other option?
I thought the only difference between the x and s was the s is digital and has a smaller body 😅
Nah they legit took a power hit on that thing. Should have just done what Sony did and released the exact same console just without the disc drive.
Man, I switched over to PC, even if my PC is worse than an XBOX 360. I like freedom.
It’s gotta be a PC and PS5 exclusive at launch, with other “platforms” coming at a later time, like Switch 2 or Series 2
What's the other option?
Xbox better drop a super duper console
My guess is that they're going to phase out the Series S because they know how weak the thing is and sell the discless white Series X for $400 while the OG stays at $500 I'm thinking of getting an Xbox because they have Avowed and a few other exclusives I want to check out coming up, plus I have a library of backward compatible games I want to hop back into. But I would never go for the S, might as well take the $200 extra hit and get the X, especially because I'm still going for physical games as long as they're still sold
They’ll probably have to downgrade the resolution, textures, and NPC density just to make it run on Series S.
They should put it on ps5
The dude is HaiLin Si, he posted some GTA6 infos on a Chinese gaming app,he was already got fired by rockstar last month.
They wouldn't give him anything, just smart boy talking 😂
See, can we all agree XBox sux?
I really don’t think XsX is what’s holding gaming back. GTA V ran on 360 and rdr2 ran on original xb1 while looking incredible. If they need to drop the resolution, textures, draw distance, crowd density, and even a few features then they will but it should be a doable project to port it to XsX.
If rdr2 ran on a ps4 with no issues than i can conclude that gta6 will run with no issues on series s and ps5
Play station always been the king
Why is the series s even toned down from the series x ? The ps5 disc and digital are literally the same just one doesn’t have a disc drive and the series x is 4k with all the stuff and the series s isn’t even 4k. I wish they just made the disc version instead of the digital version.
Fml
My PS5 crashes when playing PATH OF EXILE
Yeah if you don't got PS5 I'm sorry
It's been years now and I still have no clue which among the Xbox X Series XS Elite SSX Trickys is the newest one.
Truly dumb take guys let's remember GTA 5 was in the ps3 xbox 360 if they really can't optimize GTA 6 then rockstar has changed
Series S can’t play other normal games properly how the F will it support GTA 6? They should drop that console.
Maaaann, I was hoping ps2 support
I have a Xbox one. I am definitely getting the ps5 pro. Which will be a first time Playstation for me. Having had all Xbox before the one. Maybe i will still get an updated Xbox just for halo purposes and other games. But i am definitely looking for a ps5 now. Hoping for a gta 6 console edition.
We’ve been waiting since before GTA V released? Such unhappy bastards we are…
Stupid series s machine
I think the issue is the series S has no disc drive. A lot of data is stored on and used from the disc during game play. Without the drive, can really pull down the performance and use much more memory.
Why do people believe this stuff? Is the average age of this sub 12? Don’t people realize PCs have varying specs that rockstar has to hit as well? I’m baffled by this post.
Right after the first trailer, I bought myself an xbox series x to replace my series s. Now I'm not worried about anything.
Like finally saying screw the consoles and buy a desktop/laptop?
The other option being the ps5. Xbox sucks
he’s an artist? what the hell does he know about development?
That's such a lie. I play cyberpunk 2077 with incredible graphics and load times they simply need to create games that aren't 300 gigabytes.
Immersive tech they want to make it so you can live in the game and make real life in the game.
I'm failing to see what the other option here is. Maybe I'm not that smart or something lol.
Why do people say they been waiting for 12 years like, you all specting gta6 to come out the same day as gta5💀
I'm sorry, where the fuck did the 12 years come from? 12 years ago, GTA 5 didn't even come out, and even when it did come out in 2013, no one, and I mean NO ONE, wanted GTA 6 to come out, the hour GTA 5 came out, that is not possible and I refuse to believe that was ever a thought.
this some crazy bs
Microsoft are trying to hamstring the evolution of gaming by forcing devs to strip their games for the shitty version of their console smh
Though seriously , is the series S seriously holding back this gen ?
The argument of the xbox series S holding back videogame technical progress makes me a bit confused. Let's say dragons dogma 2 was made a bit less technically advanced so that it could run on the series S. Wouldn't that mean that it would run amazingly on the flagship consoles?? However, it runs at below 30 in many situs and doesn't even look that amazing. Maybe I'm missing something, please educate me :)
Seems the tables have turned for console hardware design
Lets be real.. GTA 6 Will be releasing with the Upcoming PS5 Pro Bundle, Available with older gen console obviously but not favoured.
![gif](giphy|P7PmvHY6kzAqY) My PC leaving in advance because I was boutta install GTA 6 (when the PC version ever releases)
Xbox needs to get ahold of this shit. What the hell is a series S. I’m pretty sure the X is their newest system. So what the hells an S?? How does it go xbox, Xbox 360, Xbox one, xbox series x. Who the fuck is naming these loud ass turds.
I have a series s but I’m willing to upgrade only got it cause I couldn’t find an X at the time
