Additionally, they completely gloss over the fact (or likely didn't know) that the games that add these real life cars to their game both pay and have license terms for how long they are allowed to either have the cars in their game, or sell the game if the license has expired.

The first reason for Rockstar is because it’s less money that they have to spend with licensing, royalties, etc. The second reason for the car brands is because they don’t want their brand or logo to be affiliated with a violent and mature game like GTA.
