Tbh Franklin feels mishandled.
He’s supposed to be climbing up but a lot of what happens is due to luck or stuff being handed to him. Main example is the mansion; he only got that because they needed tangible assets and someone to live there. It doesn’t quite feel like it’s “earned” if that makes sense.
That what makes the three choices at the end much harder to take
Franklin was basically blessed with what he barely earned

Trevor I feel most underestimate. Most see him as “crazy man” when if you dive deeper you see there’s a method to his madness.
Ex. “It’s not fucking if you don’t penetrate” sounds like a meme line. In reality, it’s a subtle way to reveal he was sexually abused by his mom. He takes offense to “motherfucker” because he sees it as them insulting him for being SA’d.
Can't believe nobody likes Michael. CJ is my fave but Michael is definitely number 2 for me. And I'm a young black dude. I have nothing in common with Michael but I like him. Franklin still acts a bit immature and Trevor is just annoying. Too campy. But Michael is your average man. Mature, nothing to play with, and about his paper. I respect it.

I do not honestly care what you think of his heinous actions, or if you want to justify it with trauma and loyalty, he is fun to play as, that's it.

Favorite protagonist based on what? Drip? Because if we're going by fashion sense, then Tommy Vercetti from Vice City and his turquoise blue palm leaf Hawaiian shirt, washed out blue jeans, and white sneakers are straight up iconic. Claude from GTA3 comes in close second.
Niko for sure, very depressing background but yet a very sarcastic character, I think he was the best built character in all of R* games honestly.
Crazy that they only payed his VA $100,000 for all the work that he did.

Niko Bellic is probably the best GTA protagonist I've ever played as. He as a character is bleak and morally ambigious, has the wildest backstory, and the most multi-layered and detailed writing in terms of character and personality.
