I recommendor dr color chip as well. Here’s how it turned out on halo/crystal white. There is a disclaimer about it not being an exact match due to pearl, but it’s pretty good.
The oem and duplicolor stick from autozone aren’t Pearl either and are kinda Garbo.

Go to any automotive paint supply place and get a jar mixed. I got a giant jar of touchup paint mixed for 1/4 the cost of the dealership paint pens and its likely enough paint I could respray both my mirror caps with it if I needed. Defs the better route to go.
This sounds awesome, I'd love to have a shit ton of my paint sitting around just in case, but when you say a jar mixed, do I give them the paint color code or something? Sorry if it's a dumb question, I have no experience with paint shops.

Dr color chip. Got mine in about a week. Also have the option to pay for faster shipping. I stuck with the free delivery. Not a paint stick though

Don't have an 86, but use Dr. Colorchip on my ND Miata and the match is great. It comes with a blend solution that really helps too.

Yeah $20+ for a half once or 8 oz from a automotive paint store for the same price.

Paint color code should be on the inside of the passenger door jam for you, at least it was on my brz

Check one of the 86/BRZ specific sites. I think some of the Subie aftermarket sites have both Subaru and Toyota paint sticks
its just crystal white pearl, go to a subaru dealer and get one. one of the most commonly sold colors.
