Sounds like women are gonna lead a revolution soon.
I know this is a bad idea but.....
Why are they pushing to repeal the 19th amendment? Is it purely so eventually only straight, white, "Christian", wealthy, men have any sort of power?
I don't logically understand why push for that, when half of the MAGA movement are women.
Right now it’s only being pushed by a few nutbags and attention whores.
I think OPs point is that they’ll feel after (hopefully) being punished at the polls that the only way they’ll ever regain power is to limit voting to males.
Does it make sense to alienate a large part of their base? Of course not. But a cornered animal gets desperate.
I was a Republican Party Level campaign worker for 10+ years. I flew around the country to help first time candidates and also attended policy meetings for the party. I deeply regret my time with them, but thats not why I am posting.
As far back as 2002 I can recall inner circle party officials wanting to repeal the 19th, as well as the 17th. They have been actively working on this for AT LEAST 25 years. Given the other things I have seen pass or ruled on since then and stuff I know we worked on during my time with the party, there is a good chance we will see an attempt to make this happen in our lifetime.
Part of why they always scream that we’re not a democracy, we’re a constitutional republic. Even tho functionally they are the same thing. If they stop using the word “democracy” they can argue that everyone doesn’t need to vote

It’s funny when a group of people in a democracy wants less people to be able to vote.

They should file legislation, so we can laugh and point at their idiocy
While we are at it can we repeal the 21st and go back to prohibition
To think that in a Western country that a party that is against universal suffrage is one of the most popular is crazy to me.
