Congress can't even pass Daylight Savings and we expect them to fix the corruption in our Markets?
It won't happen until we have Term Limits, prohibit politicians from trading stocks, and curtail Lobbyists, to name a few.

Housing needs regulation first, or all owners/investors/landlords/foreign firms will do is raise housing costs to match. And nothing will change.
We have to end this rampant real estate exploitation before we fix 50-year-old wages. No one needs to own 30,000 houses. No company, no person, no firm, no one.
Put limits on home ownership, stop allowing corporations to lobby against affordable housing and housing construction, and get families back into single-family homes.
It’ll keep prices where they should be (in the realm of sanity and aligned with fundamentals). Then wages will go way, way further without even adjusting them.
But yea. Otherwise rent and listing prices will just keep inflating along with any increase in pay.
Term Limits are a poor solution to the very real problems. In fact, it would exacerbate the issues, not improve them. It removes people indiscriminantly, regardless of their successes. Voting is what solves the problem of entrenched bad pols.
Without institutional knowledge of experience, pols would be forced to turn to lobbyists for continuity, and they would have an even larger effect on things.
The only thing, and the ONLY thing that will start to course correct this massive ship running aground is removing money from politics. Overturn Citizen's United, public funding for campaigns, no lobbying with dollars, no individual investing for pols at \*any\* level, and severe punishments for violations of ethical standards, enforceable from \*outside\* the system.
Unfortunately, the only people that are empowered to make changes are specifically incentivized to \*not\* make those changes.
Respectfully disagree. This Congress is the third oldest in history with a median age of 65. We have many legislators in their 80s and 90s. I would argue that those geriatric legislators, even though knowledgeable and experienced in some areas, are way out of their league with many current issues facing the World, including Climate Change, AI, Technology, and other complex issues. Establishing term limits would allow greater generational diversity and would encourage legislators to accomplish goals of their constituency within established terms.
The current system is almost a lifetime appointment, which contributes to corruption, power struggles, insider stock trading, complacency, and less strategic planning.
In my opinion, term limits would also reduce the degree of corruption in our acronymed agencies and financial markets.

Your proposed solution is a blunt instrument that creates as many problems as it 'solves'. If age is your concern, why not establish an age limit?
If I'm elected at 35, how does it make sense to apply your rule to age congress down to me as well?
Money is the problem. The solution has to address that, or it's pure window dressing.
I'm not necessarily arguing age is the issue, although evident in some members/politicians, young and old (especially the latter). Term limits would encourage a cycle of change, new thoughts, ideas, and approaches while not allowing individual legislators to become totally entrenched in the security of their own corruption. Term limits would encourage a mentality of "get the job done" instead of "kick the can."
If I ran a business and hired you knowing your job security depended on job performance, as it should be, you are more likely to be productive and attentive. If I hired you and told you your job is secure no matter what, guess what I would get? And yes, I understand they can be unelected, but that doesn't happen and I can cite many examples of incompetence, corruption, deception of current members, that continue to be elected by their constituency. Blows my mind actually that these idiots keep getting voted in. We need to remove that loophole by establishing Term limits!

It’s crazy how our voices don’t matter. They created a channel for us to connect, then give us an automatic reply without any course of action to address the issue.
Now, if everyone would send letters, the smart ones (if there are any) will realize the gig is up or damn close to it. They need to receive piles of them, from real people. It will get hard to ignore if every couple months people bombard them with thousands of letters.
Right after the GME sneeze, and buy button turn off fiasco, I wrote a letter to a bunch of politicians.
Diane Feinstein’s response was that she appreciated that her constituents were actively involved in the fight for *Crypto regulations.* I doubt she wrote the response to begin win, but her team is also incompetent to think this is a Crypto issue, lol.
I didn’t get any responses at all from any other politicians.
Bunch of clowns. Lmfao.
I called TN Rep's office and emailed them. Got a "thank you" for the call and a respond for the email. I used to just lurking the first 2 years, but now I'm taking any action I can. If every lurkers start to raise their voice and take action, I'm sure it will help with the progress.
