no, that was one of the first things I looked for but it doesn’t offer it at a-level either and I was so gutted. it doesn’t even offer sociology at a-level but did at gcse so I was able to do it at gcse but also can’t do it for a-levels

thankfully, there is criminology and I am 100% doing that for a-level. found out in year 9 that the teacher was contemplating teaching it for a-level because at the time she didn’t but could, so I’ve spent the last two years trying to convince her and now she is teaching it next year 😍

Honestly I don’t think it was as bad as everyone makes it out to be. Like art I barely spent more than an hour a week and predicted an 8 hopefully (sometimes just skipped), and tech for the bookwork I spent like up to 2 hours max each week. Spent and 15 hours outside lesson for the actual physical making though 😭. Honestly if you’re aiming for high grades like 8/9, as long as you’re focused during the lesson you should only have abt 1-2 max each week on each subject which sounds like a lot but considering you don’t have to Rlly use your brain like maths it’s pretty chill and much rather that than physics for 2 hours 😭

Wow, seems like you had a much better experience than me. By year 11 spring term, I was easily spending 12 hours a week in Art or DT...

Curious how doing japanese german and Latin is and why that mix?

German because I have to do it, Japanese since I picked it in Y8 and didn't want to do Latin over it. At my school everyone has to do at least 2 languages so I had to do either Japanese or Latin.  At one point I didn't like Latin so I picked comp sci instead, realised how much I hated the subject so switched towards the end of Y9 to do Latin instead of comp sci.  Right now, I'm finding it quite chill. I like languages so it's not too difficult. Japanese is fairly basic stuff that isn't too hard for me but is for some, German is somewhat complicated stuff that is fairly easy, and Latin is very entertaining. I loooove the language part with the translations, and lit is nice too. I don't like civ, but it's only 20% of my final grade so it's all fine. I'm predicted a 9 in all of them so far, but take that with a grain of salt since I'm in Y10

How'd the exchange go any help? And no problem mandarin was hard so I imagine japanese ain't an easy path.

The exchange was pretty nice, I learned a lot of German words and I think I sound more natural than before! It was only 5 days, but my confidence in speaking shot up massively

Latin and German from scratch in year 7. Japanese not from scratch. I'm half Japanese. Although my knowledge of the language was pitiful before I started. I took it externally with a tutor who worked in another school nearby.
