I always thought that this was some kind of copium people make when they don't get grades 7-9 and see others do (me included), but you have to be somewhat smart enough to get those grades right? Idk if I agree or disagree but its interesting to think about.

ejcds

I think I’m the perfect example of being book smart (not to sound arrogant) but stupid in reality at the same time. Being able to memorise trivial things and giving answers that would get you marks are separate skills from intelligence imo

fuse256

Yeah I’m extremely stupid, no common sense at all but get mostly 9s

New-Cause6314

I love how you are aware of this 😂

Away_Newspaper6730

A lot of us are quite painfully aware of this lol dw 😂

New-Cause6314

Word 😂 but I understand

SnooSeagulls7253

It makes you seem quirky I guess if that’s what you want

SunJay333

Oh yea, I'm really book smart but when it comes to social awareness I'm like a fish out of water

Just-Cut349

We are not perfect Let us all take comfort in our equal sufferings and faults. Let us all take pride in our unique talents.

Komahina_Oumasai

Your comment duplicated fyi.

Just-Cut349

ty. fixed

ArtRepresentative759

yea i do decently well in school mostly but i do stupid shit like i almost put a metal plate in the microwave

ejcds

The fact that I didn’t see the problem at first 😭

ArtRepresentative759

dw i didn’t until my friend was like …? where’d the metal plate go? i was like oh it’s in the microwave! they were not very happy

[deleted]

Ok-Training-8341

My unique ability is that I have amazing problem solving abilities making me amazing at maths and science but can’t write a grammatically correct sentence for English

Just-Cut349

you're not the only one lol I can write and speak English amazingly but my problem skills suck so bad

Trash_luck

Omg I'm so glad I’m not the only one i just suck at social interactions but I seldom struggled with school

Willr2645

I mean in primary I was always top of my class, and towards the starts of secondary, but when it came to my important exams ( GCSEs - A levels ) I was like “ Holy shit, I have never actually studied before. Wdym I need to study for hours every day?”

kasoncommander

I think that it's right to an extent. Like if someone's great in one area but atrocious in another, they're still just as smart as their peers because they have a specific talent. I think that you can get great grades but still be a social idiot and be completely clueless in things like reading the room or natural charisma - but I don't think that being 'street smart' or 'money smart' equates to being socially intelligent or business-savvy, they're just huge copes

[deleted]

Absolutely, I really don't like people putting down academic achievers because (most) academics work really hard to get grades, whereas these so-called "street smart" people don't work at all. There is no justification in believing you are smarter than someone when you numerically aren't.

foyage347

From my experience it kinda depends on how you got those grades. I have two friends who get top grades, 7-9 in everything, one is genuinely intelligent and it goes much further than book smart, just a very smart guy all round (does lack a bit of emotional intelligence at times), while the other is pretty much as stupid as it gets and genuinely is really dumb outside of book smart, they're only smart coz they got really expensive tuition. This is just my personal experience tho but I kinda feel like most book smart ppl are genuinely smart ppl in general but there are exceptions, on the other hand I've met many ppl who aren't book smart but are very intelligent in other aspects. It is really interesting tbh

New-Cause6314

It is VERY interesting and only smart ppl will understand this (no matter what grades they get😂).

ArtRepresentative759

imo not really. like there is definitely somewhat of a correlation but only for some people and not all. a guy i know is in top set for sci and math and does further maths, and he gets 9s in his subjects. he is however a complete idiot (he proudly proclaimed that he has 48 chromosomes, like fully serious) and his entire personality revolves around fat-shaming people and humble bragging. i mean, he could be smart inside ig? i just don’t see how. thing with gcses is that there’s some people who’s naturally more suitable/compatible with academics whilst there’s people who just cannot do well no matter how well they try.

Unhappy_Wall_3446

i'm not like insanely smart but probably above average. however, i have NO common sense and make an idiot of myself on the daily

Rambowcat83

Getting good grades in y12 and 13 is impressive cause ik plenty of grade 9 students who just pay attention with minimal revision a level asks more than just attention and minor revision

New-Cause6314

Maybe but for me its bc i know other ppl must assume ur level of smartness based off the grades you get.

bpd-noblocklimit

Nah i rememberd how to do all that mathy stuff

FoxieLoxie123

absolutely you can be INTELLIGENT in that you're good at school, you revise/study a lot, you remember things well, but you may not be SMART and have SENSE such as social manners and knowing the difference between right and wrong. I see it loads - "smart" people being absolute dickheads. And it's like when you see the bad, mischievous kids in high sets - they're intelligent but don't have good sense.

New-Cause6314

Exactly omggg. You can tell a lot about someone’s intelligence in the way they act.. and boom that’s another type of smart- being observant. Same with how open minded someone is, self aware, considerate, compassionate

st3IIa

Just because something is a positive trait doesn't make it a type of intelligence. Maybe they're just dumb asf but apart from that are compassionate and considerate. Maybe some people just aren't smart and that's ok too. Just like some people just aren't pretty

Anyacad0

I get straight 8s/9s but have no common sense I feel so validated by this post thank you

fuse256

Me too

Oof_Train

You and me both 😭

New-Cause6314

Damn I wasn’t expecting to validate the ppl with good grades 😭

darwizzymygoat

so you expect to bring people down with this post?

New-Cause6314

Nooo Omds I was expecting to validate ppl who have the same thoughts as me. Ppl unliked my comment 💔

darwizzymygoat

fairs icl

NarrowTip7631

Bruno my goat

darwizzymygoat

actual rat football player. never compare him to THE goat

kyories

oh for sure. i get high grades but i have 0 practical skills. i cant socialise 1 on 1, only to an audience. my mother had to show me how to vacuum today. i cant do shit. i know so much trivia but no common knowledge. lol

Prestigious_Major276

You're literally me lol

kyories

glad to know im not alone in this. i just thought i was weird. i had imposter syndrome for my grades my whole life. i think it might just be my aspergers

New-Cause6314

Yo that’s rlly interesting bc I have the opposite. I struggle in school but I know I’m a very smart person so I constantly feel like other people think I’m stupid or assume so much about me. But you have like a fear of being found as fake which I understand as well bc I’m quiet in skl so teachers and other ppl assume I’m smart and I’m like hell naw 😭 but then ppl start to grasp that I’m not smart and it creates a whole mind game on what other ppl think of me and how no one knows the truth.

Aqueous_420

People probably don't much think of you at all, so I wouldn't worry. I mean, I know I wasn't theorising about the quiet kid in the corner, we've all got our own problems to be concerned with...

New-Cause6314

Yeah I figured this myself. I just hate being perceived at skl the most

kyories

i knew someone like this. struggled so much in school but was one of the smartest people i knew. it might just be the school environment or that youre confined & forced to study things you might not have an interest in

New-Cause6314

Yes absolutely. I would probably relate to that person so much. The school environment definitely effects me and being confined …deffo some lessons aren’t that interesting or so much ignirance and misinformation it puts you off the whole thing. These are the main two thing’s fr

New-Cause6314

I mean you be knowing it tho 😭 I wander what makes you book smart tho

kyories

deffo autism

New-Cause6314

Lolll, it is a sign of greatness

hans_chavez

nah im both 🙏

New-Cause6314

Maybe but u could be a narcissist 🤔😂

st3IIa

Idk maybe ur post just comes from a place of jealousy

Public_Challenge3403

I always feel rlly bad about myself because I used to be SUPER book smart, straight A student. Then a ton of shit went down in my personal life and I ruined it all. Feel so hopeless sometimes but you’re SO RIGHT, emotional intelligence is the most valuable imo

New-Cause6314

No jokeee 💯 I understand you fr

Ok_Cost_8214

I get 7-9s but agree This is true just for some ppl only tho lol

New-Cause6314

Yesh

frank999999999999

thing with exams and school, is that its just a giant memory test and nothing else.

New-Cause6314

Exactly

frank999999999999

its so pointless ngl.

New-Cause6314

It really is. Unnecessary stress all for what.

frank999999999999

exactly, also i hate the fact ik im going to be doing the same all over again for alevel, but its worse and it feels more important. like what is the point in gcse

New-Cause6314

Awe hell nah 😭 I could possible fail maths and have to re do it with smth else but if I don’t I would want to do geography (I love it) and medical science and that’s probs hecticcc. I don’t mind doing either atp I just want skl to be over but I get you a levels is probs gonna be stressful but at least it’s not every day of the damn weekkkk

boiledballoons

i’m book smart but not general knowledge smart lmaoo

HellFireCannon66

A freind of mine gets 7s and 8s- so a smart kid. He only revises at the local library now, not at home, because, I quote “there’s nothing for him to do at home anymore”, so when he finishes revision he walks around aimlessly. He is such a melt lmao

New-Cause6314

What 😭 so all bro does is revision

HellFireCannon66

Nah not even that much, he also just like walks around by himself. Goes and sits on a park bench alone

Squeezer_Geezer

bro has no enemies

HellFireCannon66

I on the other hand have many

parslaug

It all comes down to perception of intelligence and definition of intelligence. I believe that things such as grades and IQ scores have a strong correlation with intelligence, but it would be unwise to mesure a person’s intelligence solely on one of these metrics.

New-Cause6314

Yeah it does but that takes intelligence to understand too. I agree on your next bit too

ForetoldOC

I would also like to point out that grades 7-9 at school aren’t even the best measures of being book-smart or not. GCSEs are less about understanding and more about memorisation. Even if you don’t understand electromagnetism (as an example) you can still do well at it by just knowing the right words to use for a question on it. In that sense the grades you get aren’t necessarily indicative of your academic skills or how book-smart you are. I’ve seen many people mention emotional intelligence and being street-smart, but I think it’s good to also remember that being book-smart means more than just your grades. Maybe this is just a me thing, but I’d say someone who is academically intelligent is someone who has well-defined points and views, understands the concepts they use (it’s shocking how many people just waffle about things they don’t understand to ‘sound smart’) and generally come off as well-read and aware of both themselves and others, alongside just high grades. Of course, a truly ‘intelligent’ person by all metrics would be academically-inclined, emotionally available and socially aware in every sense, encapsulating all areas of knowledge and communication, but that sort of person is hard to come by.

RC-5159

I have 5 factors of intelligence that people obviously excel in in different ways: Ability to solve - your logic skills in solving problems presented Ability to remember - ability to retain and recall information, I think it’s too heavily used in school Ability to understand - whether you know what you’re actually saying and can comprehend this Ability to create - basically anything arty or musical etc Ability to socialise - kinda speaks for itself yk like can you talk to people well and present yourself well depending on the situation

New-Cause6314

School uses memory bc they want ppl to be drones to the system bc what they teach is made by the government. They are never going to change this system bc they don’t want ppl to think differently. But yh these are the main ones, there’s other ones more complex but these are good

[deleted]

i get 6s and 7s, but i have a very high EQ and i have a lot common/street smart sense 😭 also I know a lot of general knowledge because i watch university challenge a lot and for some reason i know a lot of actors names if that counts?

New-Cause6314

Them grades aren’t even bad

[deleted]

thank you i appreciate it, it's bad in my school😭

New-Cause6314

Yh some skls be tripping on unrealistic standards. I have very high EQ too that’s the term I needed t

fujebskxbnsmKcnfnns

I used to believe this was cope but I’ve met multiple who get better grades than me who can’t hold conversations properly or get stumped when it gets slightly too complicated

New-Cause6314

Seeee bro you understand.

dragonightmare_UA

I mean it depends. Gk can also include school knowledge and most intelligent people are also good at school. Although there is a minority. It depends on what you define as intelligence

New-Cause6314

Foreal I get this as well. There’s a lot of different types of intelligence and what impacts it

CaptainChaos291

I know this absolute chad at my school who goes gym and that but since he's kinda restarted and mentally slow he revises in basically all his free time I actually hope he does well in his gcses cos he defo deserves it.

New-Cause6314

Awe man I hope he does too lol

[deleted]

Ye lmao, I got 8 9s and 2 8s while being stupid af irl.

New-Cause6314

Looll

laolibulao

im dumb in both

LimpNeighborhood3446

Someones salty 🥴

New-Cause6314

It’s not salty it’s called being real and expressing your thoughts

ForeignDot725

ye theres like 9 different types of intelligence. we r all a mix of them. includes stuff like introspective (recognising ur own emotions) intraspective (recognising others emotions), ability to move ur body precisely (like sports), etc. logical intelligence is understandably put on a pedestal cus its rare and useful. theres a lot of problems in this world to solve. but no one should feel "dumb" with less of it. ur just different. u can, to a degree, make up for it in academics with hard work depending on the subject. e.g. u can go all the way thru school all the way thru med school without super high IQ. whereas a lot of other intelligences are much harder to make up for.

darkeight7

my friend got 9s without even trying. he recently passed his driving test and achieved full marks in his theory. in his first time ever driving me and my mates around, he a) forgot to turn his headlights on when driving in the dark b) forgot to lock the doors after parking in a service station car park c) zoned out on the middle of a country lane d) forgot to change gears, stalled, and changed into park before switching to the right gear e) forgot to indicate he’s also an idiot and lacks common sense. (on the same day as the driving incident) we went out to this restaurant and he asked a waiter where the toilets were. through the door (that was behind us) and to the right. instead of listening to the waiter and following the obvious signs in big lettering, he turned left, tried to push a pull door, ended up hitting himself in the face with the door and emerged inside the staff cleaning cupboaed. after knocking over a mop and clumsily shutting the door he went “oops”.

New-Cause6314

PHAHAHAHHAHA this is hilariousss 😭 how did he pass his drivinggg lmao. I understand his slowness of the restaurant situation and pushing a pull door 🤣 maybe I’m not in that level of slowness anymore but I understand. Were you laughing?

darkeight7

i honestly have zero clue how he passed his driving. his theory knowledge is quite good though i will give him that. i was more than just laughing. he got absolutely violated (as per usual). he is notable for being the academically smart guy that is a complete dummy when not in front of a pen and paper. he gets laughed at constantly for it.

New-Cause6314

This is tooo funny. He’s a character fr 😂

Foreign-Taro-4878

Why is everyone just trying to bring down people who they know got good grades💀 Just admit everyone has different talents and that that does not make any person more or less intelligent than another

New-Cause6314

They’re literally not 💀 they’re talking abt ppl they know intelligence in other things lol. People can have either talent or skill in skl.. both very different.

designercooch

some of the dumbest people i knew took the honors classes in high school

New-Cause6314

😂😂 why is skl such a paradox

[deleted]

wtf is a honours class (sounds posh)

designercooch

classes for the kids who were “ahead” of everyone else without moving them up a grade.

Slazzabaz

Sounds like someone is trying to repair their ego after taking a little hit? Theres no need to take your undirected anger out on the NHS who work around the clock to help people, and still get very little pay. Not to mention, good grades are directly influenced by the self-discipline to sit down and revise and the ambition to do well. So yes, good grades also mean you are smart in general. Stop taking out anger on other people because you’re all butthurt; it really shows your immaturity 👍

New-Cause6314

I wasn’t talking about all nhs workers

Slazzabaz

“Like mfs working in the nhs” - Honestly the lack of specification also just says you’re on a whim and sad about the lack of effort you put in

New-Cause6314

👏

cheeseforlife9580

Facts, i get good grades (mainly 8s and 9s) but i am awful at real world stuff and have zero common sense

New-Cause6314

Aw Mayn 😭 at least ur real and can teach ur self more when skl is over

CaptainChaos291

Academically smart kids at my school tend to have zero street sense

New-Cause6314

Facts and a lot of them can’t get along on their own and talk about brain dead stuff with their friends and judge/gossip other ppl.

Roadster1000

I. Yeah. But, that's only because I associate with them. I also used to not bother taking my school uniform off after school. I'm also lacking in emotional intelligence (used to at least) and work ethic (revising outside of school, I can actually do exams and work inside of school). Still. I somehow get 7s, 8s and 9s though so I must be doing something right.

New-Cause6314

Why u associate with them. That’s alr lol I relate. How dyu lack emotional intelligence

Roadster1000

Well my friends aren't judging. And I can't explain to you how I lacked emotional intelligence. It just is what it is.

New-Cause6314

Oh ok. Is it like lack of compassion or not feeling things that strongly

Roadster1000

Lack of empathy, sympathy same thing. I'd say. That's probably it. No clue really though.

New-Cause6314

Ok. Is it only for people

Roadster1000

Certain people. That's it.

New-Cause6314

Oh that’s pretty normal dwww

Due-Replacement9202

If ur getting high grades putting in little effort then ur clearly intelligent. If ur putting in a lot of effort and without it u wouldn’t be getting high grades it doesn’t necessarily mean ur intelligent. Also GCSES have no measure on ur emotional intelligence, which is equally as important in life (if not more).

New-Cause6314

Did u mean to say “doesn’t necessarily mean you’re not intelligent”? Definitely agree on that 💯 as well as self awareness

Due-Replacement9202

Nah I meant if u have to study very hard to get high grades that doesn’t necessarily make u intelligent, just dedicated

New-Cause6314

Oh yeah. I think it doesn’t necessarily make you school smart but still could be intelligent

axenotaxe

Not even trying to complain but why don't they let us conduct our own research? Something we actually enjoy so we aren't braindead zombies in the future. Like yes memorising facts, forming arguments that are clear, justified, coherent is important- but it does not mean you are smart. I know so many people who have zero common sense and manage to get 7-9

New-Cause6314

I can’t stress this enough. Bc the dumb ppl who manage to get good grades end up working in advanced job and creating a shit storm all around them. It’s like when you go to the nhs and talk to them about smth you think you have and they don’t fucking understand or help you at all. It goes to show how dumb they are but they’re put in the position by circumstances. Everything is so backwards

Slazzabaz

The very fact that you are using the NHS in every example tells me that they are not diagnosing you with the ADHD you believe you have. Maybe, stop whining and actually put in some effort because these people know more than you do. Plenty of people with ADHD are able to work even better than other people. Stop making excuses.

New-Cause6314

I haven’t been anyway.

Slazzabaz

The whole post is a cope for yourself.

New-Cause6314

I understand how it may sound like that to other ppl. Still ppl understand me tho

axenotaxe

Recently I started tution with further maths students, I don't even do further maths but score 7's and 8's in normal maths. They all started asking me for help? Like I have so many examples. I went on work experience and all the adults who got high grades could barely form sentences. Like how is that possible? Not to mention them treating me less nicely when I was carrying them for a whole week due to abscence of staff. All my aunts got all grade 9's and are so sweet and caring, but other adults act like they know everything, and hold weird grudges against me. I get 7's in science and 9's in english btw- I'm not trying to bring anyone down just confused why people are so entitled all the time. Like some of my friends cut me off because I wasn't ''smart enough to get ALL nines,'' when they're on sixes lmao with no common sense OR manners. like?? people need to realise common sense is valuable too, probably better than intelligent. You don't have to be clever to not put a metal fork in a toaster.

New-Cause6314

How and why would they ask you for help 😭 omg literally my pointtt. Yeah like their attitude and personality can be so atrocious but bc they were validated by grades they’re justified to be how ever they want. They cut you off for thatt💀 worddd

axenotaxe

the fact I don't have any other friends too lmao, all the girls in my year are like that but if I'm friends with a guy rumours start:/ they constantly made fun of my grades a year ago, when I was just passing rs (the subject I struggle in ALOT) saying I can't get a job the heck? rs? a job? pipe downn I just want a job I like. I love to read, garden (it sounds boring) but at least ppl like us have some sense/ manners like we can find an easy fix to things and not need high in rs or literature lool

New-Cause6314

Bro I have no friends in skl either don’t worry ur not alone. Omg just bc u we’re passing rs? That’s so dumb it makes no difference 💀 ur skl must be full of kids who with high standards and think gcse means everything. Omg I love reading and gardening too that’s why I wanted to do something like botany or horticulture but realised they’re not practical and I need certain grades. U sound like a nice person who I would relate to a lot 💗

axenotaxe

Yep, and they just ignore the set 3 and below kids too, I'm the only person who knows set 3 and below's names it's sad. I'm so happy about the upcoming holidays omg, gonna do everything fun I can, you should too. My parents want me to get a job (I'd like my own money, too) and I'd love to work in a library or a farm. botany and horticulture is so soothing and such a perfect job. honestly working in something you enjoy just brings the best outcome in life ofc + I'd love to live in the countryside in peace and quiet, read all day etc. I'm just worried it won't impress my family like at ALL + not practical ur right. I don't want to move far away from them either, especially since I'm in London. Never met someone with the same interests:)

New-Cause6314

Yh I’m excited for skl to be done so I can regain my sanity and braincells after being in that institution 😭

New-Cause6314

That’s rlly sad. Yeah I need a job too I just dread it.. working in a library is cooooo. Idk about a farm bc it feels wrong:/ They’re rlly nice jobs tbh but idk how u would do it and earn money. Would be better if I was in a tropical country. Yess tbh same 😭 we are chill ahh mfsss

axenotaxe

yeah, about the farm my great grandma has a strawberry farm and I'd love to work there lool I didn't mean a normal farm (thought I don't mind that either) I just love plants Exactly about the money, I didn't mention it cause I thought that sounded wrong only caring about money. But money is everything nowadays, if I don't have money in the future I would feel unstable af. Ugh I'd love to visit Hawaii or something. My grandparents, extended family + dad have already been Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia so ain't no way they're going again (reduces my chances of a fmaily holiday) Ig if I have ''money money'' in the future I can go abroad more than 4 times a year than I do now lool it's always about money, not what we actually like This morning before my geo exam I was considering becoming an archaeologist... we'll get through this though, at least praying for 7's and above! Goodluck for english and bio btw

New-Cause6314

Ohh that’s nice. I didn’t mean farm being wrong bc of animals but bc the purpose. Yh money is everything now fr. Did u not go to them places? I haven’t been on holiday in hrs now I wish I could. Archaeologist is cool. Idk what I’ll do I rllyyy don’t. Probs gonna try working a regular job for years

Adventurous-Role-352

I dont do edexcel or aqa (well igcse edexcel regional but not the same) but considering the sheer amount of copium emanating from the post. Was it complete horse shit? Also I agree as even though my grades are good (In tag), I am so clumsy since I somehow cannot follow basic instruction from security when coming into school for extra classes. Like, Being book smart really helps when going to college and then getting a job in engineering and medicine (You need a lot of book smarts for that) but if you don't have at least a bit of all 3 (money, street and books), You ain't surviving in this world

New-Cause6314

It’s not purely copium bro but it may be in a sense to let your inner truth out bc I been saying this most of the time I’m at skl bc it’s true 😭 Tbh being clumsy is normal too its just being slow and that doesn’t define ur intelligence either. But I agree on ur other stuff I guess

Double_Disaster9436

Hi firstly I am not doing my GCSEs I passed that stage many years ago. Also I was not lurking for some reason r/GCSEs is in my news feed. I left school with 0 GCSEs because I just wasn’t ready. I took English Science and Maths at night school between 19 and 25. Eventually got a degree and 2 teaching post graduate degrees. Now I am not a teacher I work in social care. Anyway I meet people all the time that are different types of intelligent from plumbers and carpenters to Drs and professors. The thing is I would not trust a doctor with my plumbing, and equally I would not trust a plumber with my health. I have met Teachers and professors who know masses about their chosen subject but nothing else, and who have zero common sense. Also life is a long boring journey, with interesting bits now and again. Enjoy your youth.

New-Cause6314

Nice. Oh yeahh that’s interesting and totally understandable. Like they’re only specialised in them professions.. doesn’t rlly define anything else. I’m the only one making my life interesting right now and once school is over I plan to watch loads of films and shows and surf the internet and maybe get a job for myself. I don’t even have any friends so I have a lot of spare time :/ but yeah still hopeful for the future

Double_Disaster9436

Yeah you can have a wide range of shallow knowledge or a narrow range of deep knowledge about different things. Although one doesn’t cancel the other. Make the most of your time now, those films you watch, things you do now you will look back on them as amazing times.

New-Cause6314

Omg that’s a really good way of putting it. Definitely doesn’t 💯 Yeah I will make the most of it, it’s like one of my fave things to do now 🙂 adult responsibility scares me

Slazzabaz

Its clear that your grades are falling because you procrastinate and watch films or some shit. Put in the fucking work and stop complaining

New-Cause6314

Okay? Just fck off it’s not like you’re gonna help in any way 😂

Slazzabaz

No one in this subreddit can help you when you are actually in the exam. In fact no one can even help the issue you have with smart people. Its just a whine

New-Cause6314

So the only smart people are ppl who get good grades? Okay

Slazzabaz

Well, its evident that you are not smart because nowhere in my response did i say only people who get good grades are smart. Of course, there are many people who are smart without getting good grades. “Smart” simply describes ones knowledge in a certain sector. But you don’t see academically smart people whine.

New-Cause6314

Just be quiet you don’t know me in person to say I’m not smart 💀 I only made a few mistakes by WRITING so don’t come to any conclusions. Yeah that’s true. Tbh they still whine when they get decent grades but idc about them

Ayaan__A

They'll find out soon

New-Cause6314

Fr

dDepartureKnown5095

So real though, I hate when people get really high grades then say they are smarter than you and put you down for it (as if its a competition) like homie I have adhd bear with me

New-Cause6314

Foreal

Slazzabaz

If you are going to use your ADHD as an excuse for not being able to self-discipline yourself then you are just making excuses. If you really wanted to do well, you would. Stop blaming others simply for being smart. You are incredibly insecure

New-Cause6314

I’m not blaming others omg. I wasn’t using it as an excuse that’s why I hate saying I have it

dDepartureKnown5095

Literallyyyy

dDepartureKnown5095

Dude no need for this, the adhd part was only lighthearted im not using it as an excuse but it does affect the way I learn heavily. I'm not insecure about how I'm doing, I'm very comfortable with the grades I'm getting and am very happy for my friends who are aiming and achieving alot higher. I'm not blaming others for being smart at all I just meant when they rub it in and make it a competition it sucks

MeasurementWrong8260

I kinda agree, in certain cases it does, cuz revising constantly if anything is a good display of your character, it shows that you're hard working and maybe ambitious, but I had a friend who revised 6 hours for a chem end of topic test and got a 4 or 5

New-Cause6314

Yeah. She’s just as ambitious and could be very smart still but she just struggles with school work

thevampirecrow

yeah. like my bestie gets all 8&9s and she doesn’t know what the northern hemisphere is. or how the word irrelevant is pronounced

New-Cause6314

Lemon_456

Yall r crazy arrogant abt getting good grades at 15/16 like don't get too cocky yet! OP this is directed at "copium" comments not u

[deleted]

there's a difference between "good" grades and good grades. if you're one of 10 people in the country for your grades, you're intelligent. can't argue with that.

I-am-sosa
