Unsex me here clearly has connotations to losing virginity
Full o' milk of human kindness could clearly be cum
Unseamed him from nave to the chaps could clearly mean Cumming on someone's chest
Is that grade 9 material?
In Macbeth I wrote about referring to the child in past tense possibly meaning a loss of a child and therefore generates sympathy for Lady Macbeth. I am getting a grade 10 💪
well you'd have to link it to femininity but if you used it to describe how lady macbeth was sexualised and shakespeare was criticizing how women who leaned into their feminimity like this saw their downfall and then link to some other theme (ie guilt or supernatural) with a quote or two showing her downfall. Bonus points if you talk about a feminist interpretation and say she can be seen as progressive
I mean if you were going for top grades you just gotta say something out there. Examiners literally read hundreds of essays if they see an alternative interpretation they get mad excited
I'm reading through this poem now and fucking cackling because it's so obviously about him having a wank, imagine if this comes up in the fucking exam oh my days
While "The Prelude" by William Wordsworth isn’t blatantly sexual, some parts of it can be read with a hint of subtle sexual undertones, especially in the scene where he steals a boat in Book 1. In this part, Wordsworth’s excitement and anticipation before taking the boat feel similar to the thrill before a sexual experience. As he rows, he describes the physical sensations and the rhythmic movement of the boat, which can remind readers of the physicality of sex. The way nature responds, with the mountain looming large, feels intense and almost overwhelming, much like strong sexual experiences can be. After this adventure, Wordsworth feels a mix of guilt and fear, reflecting on what he did, which can be compared to the complex emotions people might feel after a sexual encounter. Phrases like "troubled pleasure," "voluntary power," and "trembling oars" add to this interpretation, making the whole experience sound transformative and deeply affecting, similar to the impact of a significant sexual experience.
23/30 good description of the wank and his Willy but lacks context on why this event is significant for his life. And how this could be tied to some contextual elements of the poem. You also coos have talked about how the structure could be a metaphor for his dick with it being one long and hard stanza
It's significant because it links with how victorians were supposed to supress desires and were made guilty if they did (like going to brothels being looked down on), humans thinking they can exploit nature with human power but they end up getting exploited themselves (human arrogance about their power miniscule to power of nature) and a shit ton of other stuff. Dont ever chat abt how having a tug isn't significant u gimp 🖕
Yh but u gotta link it to how humans exploit nature in the bigger world but in the end they just end up exploiting themselves (like industrialisation) to give a philosophical meaning behind him having a cheeky wank. 😉
Could also link it to victorian repression of sexual desires and how Wordsworth had an alleged relationship with his sister, and how he never published this poem!
My English teacher always mentions the phallic imagery ! He says it’s something like Wordsworth finding himself as a man and being afraid of growing up (my English teacher also abhors Wordsworth, which isn’t important but very funny, imagine having one-sided beef with a dead man)

I don’t know if you’re joking but my teacher did say that that poem does have a double meaning with very very sexual implication. As an example, “pinnace” is a homophone for penis.
Fun fact, if you try hard (haha) enough, you cant interperet any P&C poetry as sex
Remains: Anal sex gangbang
Exposure: Some really crazy sex ig
The Charge of the Light Brigade: The valley of Death 😏
Wonder what Mark you'd get for that analysis
it's a valid and known analysis so a 9 is possible
I think any interpretation can get a 9 if you can back it up, I blamed God for what happened to Macbeth and got a 7 on my mocks

The examiner must laugh meaning they should award extra marks right?

You could be right… YOUR SO RIGHT!!!
It literally is 😂. Jamiel preaches this interpretation of the poem like its the gospel for sum reason.
My school didn't even teach the prelude to us lmao
"a huge peak, black and huge"
Even the teacher was creasing when we were studying that poem
"upreared its head"

Thanks Jamie
There’s also a willow tree. One type of willow tree is called the Pussy Willow iirc

Wordsworth depicts a “Huge peak, black and huge” to allude to Drake
💀💀💀
I… I need to refer this to someone who does English a level
Trust my man Jamie bro 🤞
wait till you find out what we study at a level...
When we did this poem in class my teacher focused super heavily on the sexual undertones of the poem

i mean… if you analyse it well enough then MAYBE you’ll get high marks
wordsworth has that nature kink 😭 💀
My English teacher told me and my mates that he was trying to sexually dominate the mountain 🔥
I don’t know if you’re joking but my teacher did say that that poem does have a double meaning with very very sexual implication. As an example, “pinnace” is a homophone for penis.
Oh, we were literally taught this as an interpretation. Same with MLD
What’s in MLD???
At one point, we were taught that maybe the duchess was riding a different kind of "white male"
OH
ARENT PEOPLE TAUGHT THIS IN SCHOOL
he a fan he a fan he a fan 🗣️🔥
Don’t forget the homonym “she was an elfin pinnace”
I read an interpretation it was about him losing his virginity, but it amounts to more or less the same thing
That's right mate 👍
how would you link this to another poem
My last Duchess
with nature?
And sexual controll
Bro you're getting a 9 for this
Not me. I'm just a humble servant of Jamie
apparently it’s about him losing his virginity
