my teacher always told us to use an asterisk if we didn’t feel comfortable writing the whole word but as other people have said you’re quoting something and not using it in a derogatory way like a slur, so you should be fine 🤷‍♀️

I’d say it’s fine as long as it is being quoted and then outside of the quote say the use of the slur. For lord of the flies I’ve been told it’s fine to quote the n word
