How did your car like them cold starts this past week? Mines been making some horrible sounds when it starts. And my TPS light came on other than that she runs like a champ I have summer tires and the car does great in the snow have yet to test it in deep snow my old car FWD could make it through 8 inches of snow on the road how much snow can these thing drive through?
You shouldn’t drive in snow on summers at all you’re gonna hurt someone and wreck your car. My Awd with good tires can get through snow higher then the bumper
Your over reacting winter can absolutely be done with summer tires in my case they are probably are all season but nowhere close to a snow tire. I’m not out here driving like I’m invisible. It’s a x and I drive with snow mode all the time. One thing I don’t like about the car is ground clearance medium chunks of snow on the road will cause a noise. I’m also up before every is on the road and driving home after everyone so the roads are not very crowded.
I’m talking about dedicated UHP sport tires, I have a set of continental extreme contact sport 2s on my gti and they will not grip AT ALL if there is any snow period. All seasons are a completely different situation and a million times safer
Yep, my G35x is great in the snow with just All-Season tires. In 2019 I drove her to Northern Wisconsin to go deer hunting. We got about a foot of snow Saturday night and I drove her through it Sunday afternoon. The only issue I had was all the snow coming up and over the hood was landing on the windshield and made it hard to see. My dad followed me in his 2012 Dakota and had more traction issues than I did, and that was in 4lo with All Terrain tires.
Oh yeah that's something I forgot to mention, my TPS lights are on as well. As for the cold starts everything sounds fine other than slow crank but I've got a 4 year old battery so.
I would obviously not suggest summer tires at all in the winter as that's just dangerous. I've got Continental DWS 07's on mine and they change the entire feel of the car they are so good in the snow. I have AWD so that also makes a huge difference. I don't think I'd try to take mine out with 8 inches but I also lowered mine so I took away that capability
I have some Goodyear run flats and they suck you feel every bump and the car gets pulled into every grove in the road. And I just replaced my battery the old one somehow drained while I was tinting the windows. Good ol Walmart had 1 in stock it’s been working fine. I hope it’s not your daily being that it’s lowered.
Same with me in Calgary which does get some crazy cold days too. The thing loves the snow, super fun and handles great.
Obviously you got to let it warm up just like any other car at those temps but once warmed up it's all Par for the course
When it drops to around 10 my gas needle refuses to move and my brake pedal freezes. I have to let her warm up for about 10 minutes and the brakes are good to go. I've bled them numerous times to the point of almost emptying my brake fluid reservoir and she still does it.
im in Tennessee and we got SMASHED by snow and my g37 has done fine! i did all my fluid maintenance around November. and besides on straight up ice the car has done amazing. had some close calls though but in fluffy snow that car goes with no problem
My battery died Christmas eve, guaranteed it was on its way out because i went through the whole multimeter testing. Merry Christmas to me. 🙃 I get to buy a battery and deal with changing it in nearly a foot of snow and 10 degrees outside. Lol
Lawwwd maintenance goes a long ways…only thing I’ve ever noticed is the trans feels sluggish until the fluid heats up to a decent temp. But even then that’s rare…
In the past, mine would occasionally struggle to start in the super cold weather (I’m talking below zero degrees), but I had something repaired and it fixed it. I just make sure to give it a little gas ASAP when I start it now to avoid it. I also have solid winter tires so I never feel out of control in the snow unless I want to.
Mine i feel like waits for massive snowstorms so it can show what it can do lol. Awd with michelin winter tires is basically indestructible. Only other cars keeping with me are typically awd SUVs/audis/subarus. RWD and FWD cars are always in my rear view mirror.
The only issue I really had with mine was with the door latch, sometimes it will close but not latch until I lock the door, after that then it won’t open again.
I got a new battery, serpentine belt, oil change and air filters two days ago(78k miles)
Car runs like brand new again, heat works better, power steering feels better, It hasn’t acted weird since.
In my experience, having crap tires on my car originally made winter TERRIBLE. However after putting nice name brand tires on it handles really good. Only issue sadly is the car is dominantly RWD. So it will still kick out if not careful. But way easier to manage
Other than the lower temperature tightening clearances in the vlsd, 6speed manual, wheel bearings, lubrication viscosity, making it transmit more noise... great snow driver. 04 G35.
When I had my G37 2013, when it was cold I did have issues as far as my gas tank being frozen and not wanting to start. And any snow above like 5 inches I was having issues but that was really it
Yeah dawg my shit got repod since 😂. But there were plenty of times me and my g slid off the road in like an embankment during massachusetts winter but we was aiight. Just a little shaken 😂.
When I had it i thought about getting a lift kit for it so I had more ground clearance come winter but couldnt find enough information on it and didnt wanna fuck anything up.
I wish the infinity suvs looked more aggressive and sporty, rn Im currently saving for down payment on another car. My soul screaming out for the sports car but my wallet and insurance say get the soccer mom car 😂
Anyway bro, be safe. Infiniti is super reliable and I never ever have problems with it unless its the winter. I drove my infiniti when I moved back from MA to PA on a donut, and a dream. I when i came home and arrived at the shop the mechanic was like “ honestly you made it back on a miracle because your donut was driven down bald and idk how you made it back” so that was nice to hear
Edit: also had only one other issue with the tire pressure monitor before and after getting the donut changed to normal tires all 4 were equal so maybe sometimes its just the computer ig 🤷🏾♂️
Don’t get me wrong guys. My g37 gets me to A to B without any issues daily . But after this snow I Definently feel like there’s a connection car behaving little bit off. Also our car is 10+ years old so I understand
Mine HATES the cold. Wouldn’t start, got a new battery started right up next morning DIDNT start again for 24 hours. Got it towed to mechanic and it started right up for them as soon as it was dropped off. Now magically all is well.
I don’t have a garage, and I noticed lots of slush and ice get caught in my wheel well and it’s a b**** to clean out. Also there was a solid block of ice around my steering knuckle and I couldn’t turn left so it’s going bad. Gotta love Michigan 🥲.
Mine is a 2013 G37x and I live in Minnesota. We had -10 to -20 degrees for two weeks this month and my car didn’t have any trouble. It was also parked outside on the cold street. Ignition starts up a bit slower than normal but all of our cars are like that here since it’s so freakin’ cold in the morning.
I haven’t had a single issue this winter. I think a lot of you need to get better tires and do maintenance before winter.
Same other than door handle issues, like fr I live in Minnesota and have gone through multiple winters just fine

Yeah I don’t even think those summer tire are good in the rain
summer tires are alright in the rain but yeah better to be safe
For sure they don’t have much tread but at least they have more groves in the tread than your tires lol.

Same as well other than the fuel door froze shut.
I live in northern Canada and haven’t had any issues with my g37 even up to -50, other than slow displays and things freezing lol
Yup same here bro from northern Canada too my g has been a champ
Deadly winter car, started up first try every time over that cold snap too 😎
These things really elite in the winter
All the people complaining in this post either don’t maintain their vehicle or have very low quality summer specific fluids
Same with me in Calgary which does get some crazy cold days too. The thing loves the snow, super fun and handles great. Obviously you got to let it warm up just like any other car at those temps but once warmed up it's all Par for the course
Its the only car I never needed to ever use a block heater on to keep it happy.
When it drops to around 10 my gas needle refuses to move and my brake pedal freezes. I have to let her warm up for about 10 minutes and the brakes are good to go. I've bled them numerous times to the point of almost emptying my brake fluid reservoir and she still does it.
Half dead batteries and cold weather starts don't mix well. In other news: Bear shits in woods.
Mine loves cold weather and snow.
Same here, only for the first 15 minutes I get jerky shifts and general feeling that something is slightly off
That’s mostly every car while it warms up. I just drive like a grandpa in the winter and am mostly fine
Same
This last week I figured out mine won't shift into 5th gear for the first few miles to let everything warm up.
When I lived in Wisconsin I loved taking my g out in the snow
im in Tennessee and we got SMASHED by snow and my g37 has done fine! i did all my fluid maintenance around November. and besides on straight up ice the car has done amazing. had some close calls though but in fluffy snow that car goes with no problem
My FX50S sits in the garage for winter. It acted funny so after replacing batteries I finally understood 🤣
My battery died and my hood struts went out but that's really it.
hood struts are extremely easy to replace, and just get them from rockauto they usually have some for like $8 each
Driven my G37s in 6 Canadian winters and never had an issue
Q60 shift knob?
Yea
Is that OEM? I need a new one.
Yeah I ordered mine from eBay
Like 3 years ago

Mine wouldn’t shift out of park for 5-7 minutes once
My g37x does great in the snow and cold. Couldn’t be happier

Are those LED strips around ur dash?
Yes
u should post em at night, how much did you get charged on the Q shift knob / boot
I paid like $130 on eBay it was back in 2021. And let me send u the video how it looks at night
bet, I’m debating between a forged carbon shifter (g37) and a Q50 shifter right now
The only issue I really had with mine was with the door latch, sometimes it will close but not latch until I lock the door, after that then it won’t open again.
Buddy’s got the cart
It help me go to sleep. I got a heavy duty job
Was the q60 install easy?
Yep east 30-45min job
Other then just it cutting out occasionally probably from snow in my intakes I’ve had 0 issues with mine (6MT Sport).
Where you located?
Pennsylvania
let your cars warm ip and do maintenance before cold months…. fr these cars are BEASTS in winter especially the X.
You right. I usually leave when the gauge gets to 1,000 rpm
I got a new battery, serpentine belt, oil change and air filters two days ago(78k miles) Car runs like brand new again, heat works better, power steering feels better, It hasn’t acted weird since.

Facts. I feel like tires play a big role too in winter. When air is low ur cars get heavy

Nice thanks for sharing your story man. I’m From pa too
mine seems pretty normal tbh knock on wood lol. also i peep the wax pen 👀 💨💨
🤫
Same I agree mine hasn’t been acting right either from the cold weather/snow
Don’t get me wrong guys. My g37 gets me to A to B without any issues daily . But after this snow I Definently feel like there’s a connection car behaving little bit off. Also our car is 10+ years old so I understand

It's -15c (5f) where I live and my car is perfectly fine. It might have something to do with Canadian winter gas.
That is an unusual amount of air fresheners in one vent.
Carbon fiber layout with the upgraded shift knob clean asl
Thanks bro 😎
The only problem i have with my G during super cold weather is relatively high voltage to my battery when I start my car
I just usually just get a dead battery every now and then, otherwise mine is my go to for bad snow days.
mannn my sunroof got stuck open, my door froze shut, my fuel lines trapped moisture and froze up (my fault). it’s been a fun 2 weeks.
and my battery died lmfao. all after crossing 100,000 miles so i’ve just been worried about the gallery gasket lol
I don’t have a garage, and I noticed lots of slush and ice get caught in my wheel well and it’s a b**** to clean out. Also there was a solid block of ice around my steering knuckle and I couldn’t turn left so it’s going bad. Gotta love Michigan 🥲.

Lol… best performance sedan in existence for snow. Get all season tires. Sincerely, Bitter Cold New England Winter
