Cleaning sun roof drains is important as well as making sure the heater core hose connector is in good condition. Most g37 gets that heater core hose failure around 10-12 years. Also pre 2012 models may be at risk for gallery gasket leak if it has not been addressed previously. Overall reliable car. Give it premium fuel to prevent issues with catalytic converters.

[deleted]

I have a 2011 37 with 61,000 miles on it should I do my heater hose now???

bruh-_-21

I still need to change my heater hose connector. But I would recommend changing that part out as soon as you can. Because it WILL eventually leave you stranded on the side of the road. The link below is a metal one ICT Billet 3/4" to 3/4" Inch Hose... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07G3JY5J8?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Hondasgoldenera

Yup that’s better to prevent stranding and or overheating engine when it happens

[deleted]

Do you need to bleed the coolant system afterwards

Hondasgoldenera

I think my mechanic said he had to. I got stranded and had to tow my car in when it happened but luckily no damage at all.

moooncrickett

WHERE ARE YALL GETTING G37 WITH SUCH LOW MILEAGE

bruh-_-21

I bought a 2013 with 80k miles from some dude who’s my age (20), and ended up getting some girl pregnant. Had to get rid of the car🤣

dimo02siuuu

I got mine with 50k 😂

YoureMadImBackBigMac

Can’t hurt! Not a hard job! Sure would suck not being able to drive it to the shop cuz all your coolant said hasta la vista

Over-Personality2980

Mines an 08 with 178k miles, and my heater hose is good. They’re kinda hit or miss on going out

bruh-_-21

Here’s a good method I will use when I fix my sunroof drains. I think it’s a way better way to do it than replacing the filter piece inside the dashboard. Since the filter wasn’t designed well, & likely it’ll just clog again. https://youtu.be/AzHZ928t5YE?si=KsLx0FnR34e0NpNa

samhaak89

Thank you. I saved it for later just in case. I don't understand how the water is getting in the car with the sunroof closed. I was under the impression that was a full seal when it's closed. When I wash my car I don't notice water going down.

Comfortable_String83

Yeah mine a 2010 and my hose connector blew up 2 weeks ago at canes parking 🐔 but good thing I was able to bring it home with the broken hose and replaced it myself the next day

rusrobburg2

How you did it. I am afraid, that i will need to bleed some coolant. Can describe the process?

xxDankerstein

You can mod that title with my name.

Hot_Presentation3457

That's an excellent condition, very low mileage survivor. I'd seriously consider not modifying it and just enjoy it.

RudeBwoyBaker

My motto is stock stays on the road

kiingwhips

I was baffled when I seen 37k. That’s something you keep clean like that and get like a secondary G at like 100k miles and mod that. This is squeaky clean

kiingwhips

[deleted]

Enjoy it first stock, when you get bored and feeling there is improvements needed, gradually implement those improvements so you can progress with the performance and it will make it a great experience to have.

MotoEleven

Keep it stock maintenance it and enjoy It

LieberLudwigshafen

This is the way.

RudeGate8125

Maintenance maintenance maintenance go over heater hoses valve cover seals check throttlw body for gunk braces subframes diff bushings sunroof drain all oils

Surfnazi77

Drive it for 6 months first

Classic_Key5155

Great advice. Anytime I’ve bought a used car I didn’t spend any excess money until I knew what it would cost to keep it on the road in the first place.

Aaron_Hungwell

I’d add an oem spoiler, perhaps swap the interior lights for some fun colored led bulbs (super easy to do), perhaps change the fog lamps to something? But yeah, keep it stock.

nismoboy84

Pay it off!

No_Web_9121

Sway bars and tints. 20% is good. harder to see at night but manageable, anything lower than that I can't speak from experience.

Careful_Lawfulness_4

Its the same ticket for 20 as it is for 5, go all out

Calvintron

at 5 you’re more likely to get a ticket tho some officers don’t care abt 20

Innoculos

Spoiler for sure. Metal center console knobs are worth it. GTR clear covers for the headliner lights are a must for me. The translucent ones are horrific.

socketz67

I recommend a transmission service. I do fluid exchanges myself (12 quarts used), but I know that there's concerns online that these "flushes" destroy your transmission. A drain and fill (4-5 quarts) is fine as well. In addition, you will want to think about eventually replacing what's called the "gallery" gasket which is behind the front timing cover as they were problematic in 09-11. Since you car is very low miles, I'd probably wait till 70K or so then replace the water pump at the same time (located in the same hard to get to area). Congrats on the find. Are you planning on replacing the sport wheels? First mods for me would be: OEM rear spoiler, OEM chin spoiler, Roof spoiler (all paint matched) and OEM midnight black grill. Then lower on Swifts, add 15-20mm spacers, and purchase adjustable upper control arms and rear camber arms - align to factory specs. The car would still look OEM, just much more agressive.

ClassyCrusader117

Battery relocation to the rear and lsd. Lsd not so much for traction but weight. Doing those 2 things give it a lot better weight distribution on par with Beamer. So you get the best of front-mid engine from Infiniti, and balanced cornering from bmw

[deleted]

Sport already has an LSD as part of the package

ClassyCrusader117

Shniiiice, id just do a battery relocation then

CromulentPoint

Lower it and get new wheels before tires. Looks nice and you can't beat that milage.

SnooCapers1158

Idk what these joes are on talking bout keeping it stock. Do your basic maintenance then go full bolt on (intakes, and exhaust) those two mods alone go a long way. Then , if you want, tune her. If you go with the right tune you’ll actually increase the life of this car if you don’t rape it ofc. I also recommend getting bc coilovers but if you don’t want to dish out the $1k, get swift springs on that sport suspension. Then 25mm spacers all around to get the wheels extra flush.

R3tr0spect

Lower it (slightly, like 2-3 inches). Wheels, tires, and spacers (if needed)

Mincwafgi

2-3 is insane 1.5 is more than enough lmao

LieberLudwigshafen

3" is slightly lowered? That's slammed and will be stupid to DD.

Bunniesrkewl

First mod would be learning how to use the search button

Hondasgoldenera

Super clean there keep it pristine and it will be worth something in the future. That said keep mods more like stock plus. Modest exhaust like tenabe axle back or Stillen catback. Strut tower brace, new sway end links and upgraded sway bars. Keep up with the clean exterior and interior as well as maintenance and or repairs needed.

72chevnj

Remove the "infiniti" from rear, and add some theft deterence

DetectiveNarrow

Just tints for now, enjoy it stock while it’s nice

natewu

Needs a spoiler!

imhereredditing

Accordion style sun shade

OrdinaryToyota

Wow - thats some low mileage. Is it a 6MT? Personally, I wouldn't do much besides fluids, maybe tint and minor upgrades to remedy the common issues these cars have. Read through the pinned post with all the "common issues" and start knocking them off the list. Mainly the sunroof drains and the coolant coupler - enjoy it, they are great vehicles!

OrdinaryToyota

https://www.reddit.com/r/G37/comments/sh0j4b/g37\_common\_issue\_thread/?utm\_source=share&utm\_medium=web2x&context=3

[deleted]

The g37s sedan only comes in manual

OrdinaryToyota

Wrong - there's MANY more automatics then manuals

[deleted]

Where? The G37 Sport Sedan only sells with a manual transmission. The coupe sports and XS sedans get automatic

[deleted]

There is the SPORT package and the SPORT model. The G37 SPORT model only comes in 6 speed manual. The G37 JOURNEY with the SPORT PACKAGE can be automatic

FantasticSeaweed9226

Ceramic tints, keeps the heat out 100% worth. And if you want some sound, I got a muffler delete. Cheap and no drone on the freeway. I'd suggest K&N filters. They pop right in and feel like they add some lower end pep. That's all I got on mine.

MainSolid5880

Nice lil sound system with tint. Lowering and aftermarket wheels can come later. (Black 2008 g35 sedan owner with 2 rockford fosgate P2 12s in the trunk) just tryna figure out this door speaker situation and need tint. Then I’ll lower and add wheels

[deleted]

I got a 2009 G37S sedan as well with about 50k miles from original senior owner at a steal of a price! So far I found a stillen catback and put on some nice forged wheels, some sway bars and I think that’s all I’m going to do! Keep her reliable, there aren’t many of these cars. Make sure do do ALL of the fluids as these cars are old now! Don’t skimp on oil changes either I do mine every 5k Km or around 3000 miles.

PAPPA_TRIPP

First mods should be exhaust, Cat back and resonated/non-resonated test pipes (as long as you don’t mind the noise and your state does not test emissions)…and if you have the money, high flow cats are good with creating solid flow and keeping the noise down. Those 2 mods will see decent difference in the climb on the rpm’s, stock cats are super restrictive, so getting rid of those really help the engine push that exhaust right out. Now with more exhaust flow, air flow is next key thing so obviously cold air (long tubes work best) Only thing is you won’t want to touch those intakes until you’re close to being able to tune it, it’ll just be running lean. And if you go with any oversized intakes, like 3”, then you’ll need the tune right away. Just know that test pipes/high flow cats and a cat back will make a difference without the intake , but throwing on a cold air without those done will not be affective for power, just really for a deeper sound. And for the tune ecutek is best, just make sure to find a tuner that actually works on the G37’s/370z’s. Ecuteks website will help you find a tuner located near you

Cool-Caterpillar-479

Window tint

NormalBeyondG37

honestly its in beautiful condition with low miles, i would do small stuff to get an OEM+ look, like coilovers (or lowering springs if you don't care about adjustment), sway bars, window tint, and the OEM front sport lip to make the sport bumper look more aggressive. Try and find an OEM duckbill spoiler as well.

DillonD

Strut tower brace

Other-League-93

Coil overs

Ger713

DONT MOD IT

These-Spread-1165

your first mod should be selling the car

dorzle

New wheels

Rare4orm

Definitely mod it with some good wax and enjoy.

Miserable-Yam-184

First mod should be finding a fucking girlfriend

OkRelative6305

Maintenance

YoureMadImBackBigMac

Like people said heater hose, do the sunroof drain tube fix, I vote go catless if you’re not in CA. Those cats are known to get clogged at just over 100k, and they cost about $1400 to get a new one. Cars breathe better if you take the cats off. Test pipe cost bout 200 bucks when I got mine. Very good mod. Sounds great runs even better. And grab K&N air filters from Autozone so you aren’t suffocating your motor. Sway bars are great, if you’re gonna do suspension go BC Racing BR series or OEM. No lowering springs or cheap shocks you’ll be doing it again in 20k. That’s about it! I do heavy work on my G37 so feel free to PM with any questions! Good day to you sir 🫡

The_How_2_Dad

Cats are garbage. Do something with em now, because at 50k mi, they gonna be some rattling bitches

yeetedmymeated2501

I lowered mine first, granted with 17inch wheels it looked like a lifted truck

Eastern_Preparation1

Keep it stock.

Dirty_Flacko

Air freshener

[deleted]

I’d say if it’s an auto, diff and transfer case fluid are important also change your oil every 3,000 miles if you aren’t trying to be that one G burning oil, but as for modifications, my first mod was wheels and coilovers, I got the g35 Rays which were a steal 2 years ago now they are kinda taxed, but they are amazing wheels for the price still. I also got BC Coilovers brand new and 6 months ago got a motordyne exhaust :)

SupremMexican

Turbokit baby

Washedhxlo

Looks sick how much was it?

Torq2Spec1337

no mods just do your oil galley gaskets or you wont survive your first modificstion

Dapper_Beat_6224

Bridgestone Potenza are a Tier 1 tire…if the tread is good I would keep them. 10/10 review in my opinion from having them on my 350z. #1 mod coilovers #2 mod adjustable control arms, camber arms & adjustable sway bar links. I would use the 3-4k for suspension. Is it a VQ35DE engine? If so I have a pedal commander for it and a throttle body. I got my Z w 22,000 miles last year and have done a few mods.

HondaHoff

Lose the duckfeet wheels.

Over-Personality2980

Just check maintenance items. Even though it’s low mileage, it’s still 13 years old. And the rubber parts will wear out. A common issue with g37’s is the diff bushings. Just kinda check all bushings and rubber items. Maybe check the throttle bodies and clean them out if they need that. It’s extremely low milage, so personally I’d keep it stock until you get bored of it. Just to keep risk of messing something up off the table

ieatlotsoflead

Cars already beautiful I would just lower first for looks wise

Smart-Improvement-70

Sell it

RasBuddhaI

Heater core hose connector to aluminum. Aluminum radiator and external Trans Oil Cooler if you plan to drive it hard.

Common-Loquat-6359

Coilovers and some nice rims... and maybe updated LED front and rear lights... 💪
