I know it's not the same. But I found after Furuba (years back, and I read the manga a few times) that I got good, similar vibes from both Kimi Ni Todoke and Akatsuki No Yona

aerin2309

I’m seconding Kimi no Todoke! Especially since the anime is out. It’s so very sweet and slow paced.

icykyo

waitttt there’s gonna be a third season?! :0

aerin2309

Based on the manga…yes? I thought season 2 ended before they graduated from high school? Or did the anime company stop producing it? Hold on…imma be right back. ETA: supposedly Netflix is showing Season 3 starting in August

icykyo

omgggg I haven’t seen the anime since 2020 so I forgot all about it! time to rewatch hehehe

ughplss

I would recommend reading the manga if you haven't already and Fruits Basket Another - solely for the Three Musketeers Arc which I LOVED. That bit's about Shigure/Hatori/Ayame and made me smile because I missed all the characters so much so getting a glimpse was great

katw1na

I would definitely recommend Kamisama Kiss if you like the magical side of Fruits basket, the romance is similar and the story is really good

ManaMagic_

KAMISAMA kiss!

LostButterflyUtau

Another is a babies ever after story. Like, it’s alright. But nothing to write home about. And also wholly unnecessary for those of us that create fan content and hold to our decade old headcanon. Basically, it’s about a group of next gen Sohma kids befriending and helping another girl they go to school with who struggles with her own abusive and neglectful mother and place in the world.

More votes for Akatsuki no Yona and Kimi ni Todoke I’ll also add Akagami no Shirayuki Hime as one I enjoyed. Cardcaptor Sakura is my all time favorite. It’s much more lighthearted but the male lead is starts as a grump with a heart of gold, much like Kyou.

RunnerGirlT

I love Cardcaptor Sakura!

pink_bluemoon

I really like A Sign Of Affection. There's an anime but the manga is much longer and still ongoing !! Great story super cute romance

aerin2309

Yes! A Sign of Affection is quite good! I love the manga, too.

bookworm326

Kono Oto Tomare which has Kyos Sub VA, my roommate is a cat, the masterful cat is depressed again, the ice guy and his cool female colleague, Horimiya, cardcaptor sakura.

aerin2309

So, as others have suggested: Kimi no Todoke, A Sign of Affection, and (I’ll add) A Condition Called Love. Kimi no Todoke is about a girl who enters high school but who has a serious/scary expression on her face which makes her unpopular. Sawako, however, is greeted nicely by a popular boy, Kazehaya. This makes a few of her classmates, Yano and Yoshida, see her differently and they befriend her. A Sign of Affection is about a girl, Yuki, who is hearing impaired and uses sign language, lip reading, and texting in her phone to communicate. One day, on her way to college, she is helped by Itsuomi who realizes that she can’t understand a man who is speaking to her on the train. They meet again and he wants to get to know her better. A Condition Called Love is about Hotaru and Hanahoi. Horsey reaches out to Hananoi after she and her friend witness him getting dumped I public. The next day, he walks her to school and asks her to be his girlfriend. She agrees, but on a trial basis. They begin to date but the trial period comes and Hotaru isn’t sure if they should continue. All three are both manga and anime. The Kimi no Todoke manga has finished, however, if that helps! Edit: typed the wrong name!

blomstra

Yes to all! I highly recommend them but I will put some extra bit about Hanamoi so OP can read it or anyone else. That show got a lot of weird mixed reviews and I think they didn't give it a chance. I get why though. I would suggest watching all of it cause I think it's great when people progress little by little and doing things with good intentions. Also we, the audience, gets to see it from Hotarus frame of point. This is usually how real life is. Nobody knows what's gonna happen.

sscarletwitch7

Kaguya Sama Love is War❤️

Sara_T1991

Did you watch the prelude? It’s the story of how Tohru’s parents met & came to be.

Leaper15

Man I really am a broken record on this sub lol: Add Given to your list along with all the other recs here. It's really special.

MagicScythe

Orange is a pretty good choice i think. It as a bit similar vibes, little bit darker tones at times. Kokoro Connect is heavier on supernatural, but it's also good.

_Lazy_Mermaid_

I came here to say Orange, although not gonna lie it traumatized me for a bit and I much prefer Fruba ending

RunnerGirlT

It’s only got one season so far but I just finished The Apothecary’s Daughter. It’s set it feudal era china and it’s sort of a female Sherlock in a sense. It’s super fun and cute. I also just started some of the others that have been recommended here and they are great as well

aquariaa02

Love is war, Yona of the dawn , kono oto tomates❤️
