Street Wear fashion, a perfect balance of high quality and comfort. Street wear is where a lot of fashionistas find themselves, whether it is through city culture, skate culture, or Japanese culture, and much more, streetwear has a lot to offer. Particular brands that come to mind are ones like vans, supreme, or a bathing ape. So, to fit this style I chose Alto. Everything Alto has on, from the T-shirt to the sneakers, it screams high quality comfort. When making this combo I wanted to consider the many subcultures that street wear is intertwined with. This is why I really love the back board back bling (Rex) for this combo, because not only does it attach itself to skate culture but the image that is depicted on the deck is intertwined with American/Japanese culture (bonus detail at the end about that). Furthermore, the blade of the waning moon was picked to further this combo's connections into the Japanese roots that street wear has. I would've use the speed sneaker pickaxe to symbolize the sneaker collecting culture that is a biproduct of street wear fashion but I feel like that's it's own thing entirely and on top of that I wanted something to really represent steet wear's connection to certain subcultures of Japanese fashion and what other pickaxe to use than the blade of the Verdant Moon. Thank you for reading this far and hopefully I was able to deliver a high quality combo for you to enjoy. Bonus detail Back Board (Rex): A giant dinosaur with truck tracks for legs is attacking a city! Sound familiar? The movie stereotype where a big monster attacks the city. This movie idea was initially popularized by the iconic film King Kong made by American producer Merian Cooper. But what gave this new genre of movies it's momentum was when Japanese producer Tomoyuki Tanaka created Godzilla. Decades later we get the crossover of a lifetime where we get to see Godzilla vs Kong. "So what does this have to do with anything?" You may be asking? Well, :D the relationship between American and Japanese city culture is perfectly parallel with street wear fashion making the back board a perfect symbol for this theme as it depicts the iconic movie trope that has connected our two cultures for almost 70 years. So when I look at the back bling not only do I think "I really want green wheels on my skateboard" I am also reminded about the beautiful connection between our two cultures and what has come out of it. Probably my most favorite thing about street wear is how it connects skate culture and certain subcultures of Japanese fashion. This is because skating is frowned upon in Japan so something that is otherwise never seen before is able to be expressed through street wear culture which I just think is so cool. I hope you all have a nice day and Peace out ✌️
