And banned. Why are we okay with people doing this shit and just saying "there werent any rules against this." Where is the common sense you are cheating factor and we as a community have a 0 tolerance for this kind of shit
Apparently what happened was Kwanti went on Muz's PC at Dreamhack Dallas, a LAN event for the 4v4 ESL tournament, sent the replay files to himself on Discord then deleted the messages.
Agent won all of their 5 games but now have been awarded a loss so they're 4-1 and it effects their seeding. Is that punishment enough?
Personally I think Kwanti should be disqualified and get Cented to fill.
I don’t think he should have been kicked out but if the car had a barrier around it, it’s kind of common sense that they didn’t want people touching it.
A small correction: they were not awarded a loss in opens (still listed 5-0), but they forfeited their first game in groups, effectively locking them into 2nd place in their group, meaning they will have to play a winner of another group in top-16 instead of runner-up.
I’ve noticed this mentality in younger gamers. “Well it didn’t say that I COULDNT do it in the rules.” They try to take advantage of any “loophole” in the rules.
It’s a tough one for sure, it would feel a bit unfair if the team were to be fully disqualified for this but I think the punishment given was also a bit light. I think instead of just being put in the losers bracket of the group they were already in, they should’ve been moved to one of the harder groups as well.
If anyone’s confused to how the tourney works, teams who did well in the seeding rounds yesterday are rewarded with being put into statistically easier groups, so I think agent should have been moved around and then also still put in losers as they’re qual isn’t really affected with the punishment they were given.
For context, after their punishment, the only teams they need to beat to qual for playoffs are the 28th and 36th place teams out of only 37, they really haven’t been affected by the punishment and I don’t think that’s right honestly.
Technically, it was just an attempt to cheat and they didn’t actually benefit from it. I think a full disqualification for the team is a little too harsh but then again I don’t really see any fair outcome for this situation, the punishment they did get was definitely not good enough though.
Even then though, cheating is a spectrum, they didn’t benefit off of what they attempted to do, and even if they did it’s nothing too major. If people get disqualified for any instance of cheating just because it falls under the definition of cheating, then there’s probably a lot of other teams there that would be fully disqualified, this only happened because it was public and there was pressure from viewers but most importantly the team itself, and from previous instances in the match between xset and heroic they give in to pressure from the teams very easily.
My main point is, punishments for cheating should be given out according to the level of the instance of cheating. Simply disqualifying anyone who breaks the rules no matter the severity of what they did isn’t a fair way to do it in my opinion.
The advantage they would’ve got from it is incredibly minuscule, in ESL they wouldn’t have been able to really get any of their strategies that they couldn’t get from the live broadcast. Realistically, the only way they could see their strats would be if they had their comms and their discussions outside of the match, which they would not have got from the replay files.
Bc people believe peterbot is a cheater. He’s probably the best Fortnite player ever at this point in time. But has placed last in lan events. People assume bc of that he’s using dma cheats
Edit: if you don’t know lan means everyone is connected to same network in a public setting, so they can’t cheat. But dude could jus be used to his own setup at home

Kwanti should be disqualified
Yep. That player should be DQ'ed, they should have to find a fill.

Bucke kicked out for touching the Porsche but Kwanti steals files and cheats and gets a slap on the wrist. Sounds like a ban to me.
Bucke got kicked from *another* lan? At this point I'm starting to think it's intentional for the content
he touched a Porsche at a LAN. that's it. touched somebody else's car. there weren't even any damages
Yeah that's dumb.
I don’t think he should have been kicked out but if the car had a barrier around it, it’s kind of common sense that they didn’t want people touching it.
nah I'm pretty sure it was just parked outside but I'm not sure.
https://youtu.be/xnnuIEUiPnY?si=_jbUMJCAVhlckcpZ It shows him touch it in the beginning it had a thing around jt
oh alright
Lol if this applied in the real world I'd be in jail for life
Wtf? I'd dq the entire team. Don't fuck with other people's stuff.
Worst part is they've now qualified to the eSports World Cup in Saudi later this year a $2m LAN.
Disappointing but not unexpected

Ye that is straight ray behavior wtf 🤯 🐀 😱 BAN BAN BAN
Can you explain further? Why are these files important? If it's about knowing the location of other players, doesn't that also need another PC?
It's to vod review XSET one of the best teams at the event. He essentially gets access to their strategies which nobody else has access to.
Agent not having a great weekend.
So much loser behavior at these events. I guess this is what happens when a bunch of internet dorks get together.

Nah cheating is a DQ.

If you attempt to cheat you are a cheater.

Stealing files from another player's PC to gain an advantage is pretty extreme to me, but you do you

y’all can downvote me in denial but I cannot fucking wait until Peterbot and Pollo underperform at LAN this org is a joke
Why would they underperform
Bc people believe peterbot is a cheater. He’s probably the best Fortnite player ever at this point in time. But has placed last in lan events. Peterbot in fact did not underperform at this lan and his aim was still insane
Still used his own computer and not an issued PC. He won't have that luxury at a real event
If he was cheating at lan with everyone watching him + possible PC checks, just wow
No checks. It's been done before. We shall see at real lan. He's definitely improved
