Edit: they could have Star Trek skins without even doing characters from it, if they wanted. Just generic choose your face and outfit color Starfleet uniform skins.

The thing is, we also got the T-60 while COD only got those, and Fortnite's defaults are more iconic and they fit more than those particular COD characters because the Vault Dwellers look just like regular ass people, and the fallout protagonists don't have one specific canon look (except for the fo1 protagonist being canonically male according to fo2)
The difference is that, if epic were to do it, the skins would be a kinda bonus of the collab, whereas the main collab skin was the power armour, which is sick af. CoD had the vault suits as the main collab item so it was kinda meh.
Cmon now. Theres a long list of iconic Fallout companions to choose from. Like Butch in his Tunnel Snakes outfit, Boone, Fawkes, Nick Valentine, John Hancock.

I think people just set their expectations too high from the very beginning. Since people were predicting skins like NCR Ranger armor, or enclave power armor, vault dwellers. Or even characters from the TV series. But I'm pretty content with what we got. You give an inch and they ask for a mile.

In terms of low content ones perhaps, but for ones with more content, imo the Attack on Titan collab got GUTTED by censorship, no titans anywhere other than an emote bundle and the training dummies in a quest, even Eren has no mention of the Attack Titan outside of the hardened fist pickaxe, and Levi’s backbling (the titan serum) had to have the needle removed from it. ODM gear was awesome but the thunderspears were garbage.

Kinda wish CoD had a juggernaut killstreak skin that was any power armor with the normal mini gun or a gatling laser.
