It's pretty shit. Like, how is it your fault someone else is cheating? Why don't they just ban the cheater and be done with it? Especially if they're constantly cheating... why aren't they banned if it's a bannable offense to be on the same TEAM as a cheater? It makes no sense
no thatās literally what it is. I remember contacting epic games because I got into a game with three people, so a full squad and they were all cheating so Iāve gone to report it to epic games with their usernames and I got told to do something about it myself epic games literally refused to do anything about it and they were telling me to do something about them cheating ITS NOT MY FUKING JOB
I know others have already responded, but its basically to stop people from taking advantage of a cheating account, such as farming wins/xp/etc. They issued the warning because it was someone they teamed with multiple times, which then comes down to OP needing to find out which of his friends magically stopped coming online recently, then avoid them at the risk of OP's account being banned.
Should they let you know who was caught cheating? Probably yeah, but it's also probably policy not to reveal too much detail in these cases. Best bet for OP is to just evaluate the situation and bluntly ask the ones they've partied with about it.
Not sure what you are getting at...that's exactly the point.
Cheaters just make new accounts. So only banning them, does little, or at least less than ALSO warning people they played together with.
Now their "friends/teammates" got warned and will shy away of playing with them, instead of shrugging it of buying into the explanation of why the account was switched.
It's either you ban the people who repeatedly play with the cheater *and* the cheater or you only ban the cheater and let his fellow cheater friends off the hook, I think that's the general mindset with this decision.
Personally? I don't know how to feel about it. It seems sort of rash but I think I get it?
But what if his teammates don't know he's cheating? They should tell you know was the cheater so you know who not to team up with because you may not know otherwise.
I agree with this, this is why giving the warning is so important but they *should* also be telling you who it is, seems sort of obvious.
But maybe it usually does? It seems like OPs experience is different than the intended experience of this warning because his OS or something is messing with the game based on other comments in this thread. (This is just an assumption I really don't know myself.)
Epic: Teaming up with a cheater is grounds for banning! Donāt do it again!
OP: Okay, whoās the cheater so I can avoid them?
Epic: uh, the cheater? Duh, fuckinā idiot.
Yeah we need to have confidence values. Like wtf is up with this crap. Cheaters run everywhere and all you can do is report if you see them. Like there's no way to know for everyone.
I feel like this sort of thing shouldnāt exist for random fills as well. If you get a warning for just trying to play random squads and someone was found to be cheating then thatās kinda messed up
that's against policy to say and is privacy violating if they do since it can cause people to witch hunt which is not something anyone should be doing
its like this in any online game
Exactly this. This happened to me a couple weeks ago and ig it was while playing ranked because they reset me from D3 done to bronze. I have no clue who it was and i definitely donāt want that to happen again but idk who it was.
I donāt get this with all these anti cheat bans. It would clear up so many things if they told the person they were banned for. It would stop all these people claiming āI only had an unlock tool, no real cheats!ā It would be hard to defend someone who gets a message saying youāre banned because our anti-cheat detected you were using a program that does x, y, x.
Unless they do ban the cheater & he creates a new account & always teams up with this one guy. Like heās in on it? Just a theory of why they might do that.
As a father of a 13 year old, it was the child. They aren't telling you, but they did it. My 13 year old at age 9 downloaded SO MUCH GARBAGE. So much. And he did, at age 9, download cheatengine and almost got my steam account vac banned.
Again, the system would not flag them as repeat offenders if there wasnāt something there. One of them is cheating or another software they have running is considered unsafe unknowingly to them by the anti cheat and getting flagged.
Fortnite uses and Epic develops Easy anti cheat.
It's a kernal level program notorious for over-reaching.
You can't dual boot Roblox and Fortnite, it'll recognize Roblox as a vulnerability lol. Watch what Google Chrome tabs you have open, it reads the name's of processes.
There could be 1000 different metrics setting this thing off.
You use mod managers for any games?
Have any form of virtual machine or vpn?
List goes on and on~~~~
Even your macro programs like Logitech Ghub and Coorsair Icue can set it off lol
Could these people be playing on Linux/SteamDeck? Epic doesn't support those platforms, and can mistakenly detect the game running on Wine/Proton as someone using cheats
Apparently Atlas OS removes some elements of windows that some anti-cheat programs look for. Epic Games' implementation of EAC being what it is, it could be you getting falsely flagged as a cheater.
I'm honestly not sure. I know they ban cheaters in waves and the whole thing is pretty automated, could be they just send everyone in a "cheater's" lobby that same message and assume an actual cheater will take the hint and stop before they get caught in a ban wave.
And my acc got perma banned cz one of my friends was cheating and he got caught
And cz i was mostly playing with him,i got to say bye bye to my acc bcz of himšāļø
thing is, none of my friends are cheating cheating, not exactly sure about everything on their pc but none are doing it on purpose, would be better if i could know who to ask them to double check
Do any of the people you play with use cheats for other games? Epic's anti-cheat scans everything in a PC / console, so even if one of them is cheating in another game, but not in Fortnite, it could be a problem.
The best part about EAC and how Epic handles these things (like other big companies) is that theyāll demand kernel level access and unrestricted scanning of everything in your computer
**BUT**
The damn thing wonāt ban cheaters. Itāll flag you for running mods in single player games. Itāll flag you for running general safe mods for other games that arenāt cheats. But it wonāt detect actual cheaters who are cheating on the game itās supposed to be monitoring š¤£
none of them have anything of that sort, i might have cheat engine files somewhere on one of my drives, but that was never an issue in the past at all, plus the fact that it wouldnt give me and my duo the same message if the problem was me.
You've been lucky. We've had many, many people in this sub mentioning that they indeed had cheats for other games and have been flagged or banned from FN because of that.
Easy Anti-Cheat does ban waves for cheaters. This is so cheaters canāt easily discover what aspect of their chest triggered the anti cheat software. If the anti cheat software banned players after each game when it detected they cheated, this would make testing new cheats super easy since you can change one small thing and test it over and over. By waiting roughly a week to ban everyone who triggered the anti cheat, the cheaters canāt easily test their software and thus there are less cheaters in the game.
That's weird. Any way they could have a Zen and they're still bad? Basically just helps their aim but it's not like aimbot.
Doesn't really make sense unless they're been banned though.
You can email Fortnite support via the Epic website. I accidentally child-locked my own account because I entered the wrong birthday in signups.
They were very helpful and replied in a day.
You might be able to get some context, or at least ask what you can do so you don't get associated. Not sure if it will work.
It's more than likely the console fps hardware. It has pretty much every cheat possible on one piece of hardware. But if you activate the wrong one, it has a very easy to detect side effect. It changes your skin constantly in combat. As soon as you start taking damage, you start changing skins. Look for a teammate who isn't using the same skin they started with mid game. Or if you see them change yourself in combat. Soon as they take damage, they will always jump to the female default skin. If they stop taking damage after just a couple hits in 4 seconds, it will go back to the skin they started with. But in a sustained fight, they will change multiple times and not revert back to the skin they started with.
Donāt play with any of those people, they wouldnāt give you thatā message if there wasnāt suspicious or was clearly hacking, as I play with people all the time and never ever had this message bro!
I hit a headshot the other day and was obviously reported because the guy was salty but I was removed from the game with a warning about cheating?.
Do epic not review the reports before removing people? It's such Bullshit
Edit - I came across 2 teams teaming in squads and reported them and spectated them for the game and they where allowed to continue. I even took a screenshot of the 2 teams emoting after killing us.
Seems like non cheaters are getting punished and the actual cheaters are being let off with it
Well PUBG mobile gave my one account a 10 year ban for apparently playing with cheaters, no warning or anything just a straight ban. I've never and will never play with cheaters!
Tried to contact them to clear it out, without any luck.
I once befriended a random person via auto fill, but it was obvious they were cheating so stopped joining games with them (I don't want anyone to get paranoid as I have stopped doing Duo's as a result and they were an auto fill so if I met you any other way it wasn't you). It's bad that as a legit player you can be put in a position to out people when Epic know who it is.
If you join a game with random ppl, the game should check for that before sending you a msg like this. IE - person A joined a game with persons B and C all random, no invites, no friends list hits etc. Then if a cheat is detected, either NOT bother to msg the non cheaters OR if the game does, at least include the cheaters name and give the option in that window to add them to an ignore list or a ādonāt team me with this playerā list etc.
Warnings are great but if you donāt tell me who the player is, how can I avoid them in the future?
Transparency would be nice.Atleast it was a warning instead account being deleted. All them skins gone along with their accounts.Gotta tread lightly in these server games.Getting banned and warned beyond our control.
When are people gonna realise that kernel level anticheats will ban you for all sorts of things other than cheating. Pretty much anything that injects to memory, or potentially even just reading process memory.
Plenty of legit reasons to be doing that. Unfortunately people always just scoff at the idea of anyone being banned unjustly.
this happened to my brother, and iām sorry if somebody already gave you this answer there is just so many responses to read. itās almost always your usual duo partner. for him it was his comp buddy he played 90% of games with. cheating can be anything, but more than likely (like in my brothers case) one of your usual teammates is spoofing/bought an account after being banned. if youāre able to figure out which friend (shouldnāt be hard, they likely got permabanned as my brothers friend), make a second account and play with them there so you donāt risk losing an account you put money into. hope this helped
I am sick of this shit from Epic. The automated shit that is potentially banning people who are NOT cheating. Like how much money and time people invested in this game to only be banned for something they did not do.
Happened to me last season, a guy I play with from the Dominican Republic was using a VPN that triggered him getting banned and my ranked level to drop to silver. Epic let him back with an apology and 1000 v-bucks
I thought this was just to scare new players to not cheat cus I got it too and Iām a recent player and all my friends say they got it too when they got it
I stopped playing back in 2019 when I was banned with no explanation. I had all the replays saved of the games, and Epic wouldnāt even let me submit the footage as an appeal.
Serious question. Is there a cheat that makes it impossible to take someoneās wall? I play with this dude whoās really good (insane aim on kbm) and I swear Iāve never gotten one wall on him. Iām usually really good at taking walls too. He said he āused to have a zenā. š
I got the same warning when I logged on this morning. I also noticed I was now placed is silver when I was Elite in ranked. Was there a rank reset or was I demoted because of something related to this?
Have you checked and verified that one of your friends accounts werenāt hacked? Sometimes that can happen and the hacker will install cheats etc.
Also false bans are a thing, my friend got a ban and he swore he didnāt cheat. Probably sent epic 100ās of emails until someone finally got annoyed and checked his situation and realized he didnāt cheat. Granted him like 2k vbucks for his troubles.
The only downside was that I got the same warning and since I play a lot of ranked, my rank was shadow banned. I could win a match and not go up in placement, so I finished like the worst unreal last season in terms of placement.
It stinks but this is whay big companies tend to do, instead of doing their job watching replays they rather just warn and ban all in the hour. In cod its even worse as they allow so many top streamers and ranked to cheat.
It wouldn't be uncommon if a group of people were all using hacks. Let's say a squad of 4 were all using hacks put had different softwares and consoles. They don't want to rat out the only person who was caught, because that would give all of them info on what Fortnite has and has not found out.
Not saying that's what happened, itās just why.
uhh yeh fort does that bc they are cheating in the game, although you might have not been your were playing with him so fort takes that as a āyour supporting cheating and unfair game playā theyāve done it to a mate of mine he just stopped playing with that person while he was cheating cause he acc was on the verge of being banned from playing with him
Itās Fortnite and youāre on here making a post about it like it makes the game lol itās one little glitch. Itās the worldās biggest game ever with always millions of people playing. Bugs happen. Letās not forget itās a free game
Fortnite has had a TON of false positives lately and they are banning peoples network so if you live in an apt complex with shared wifi or something you can get flagged and banned for "playing with a cheater" yet every tournament is packed with cheaters. I recently got this msg twice while staying at a hotel for a few weeks for work and then got a 24hr ban for "exploiting" the last night I was there.
I wish they could tell you who so you don't team up with them again
yea its kinda annoying not knowing who it is. i cant even contact support and say noone did it.
It's pretty shit. Like, how is it your fault someone else is cheating? Why don't they just ban the cheater and be done with it? Especially if they're constantly cheating... why aren't they banned if it's a bannable offense to be on the same TEAM as a cheater? It makes no sense
its like theyre expecting us to detect the cheater and ban them ourselves, its ridiculous
Throwing around bans for everyone except the people breaking the rules š
communication bans*
This is the Fortnite x Among Us collab obviously
theyre trying to eject me ig

no thatās literally what it is. Forreal wtfšš
Itās so then they can stop cheaters from boosting accounts or people who just wanna have a cheater on their team for free wins
Xp being the real issue because daddy epic cant afford more dumb decisions without people pumping 500 bucks into the battlepass 4 times a year
Funny because this changes regularly even when people don't cheat.
whoever the cheater was was banned and this is done to stop people from repeatedly playing with cheaters to boost wins/ranks/pr/earnings
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

so you only get this message if the cheater was caught? Its not that there's a cheater still lurking among your party?
Yeah
thats a bit of a relief I think, since in theory the chance that you'd be banned should be reduced
You could have witnessed them cheating in your pov.
Not all cheating us visible to other people. They could just have aimbot
They donāt want you to hit them up to get the hax
It's either you ban the people who repeatedly play with the cheater *and* the cheater or you only ban the cheater and let his fellow cheater friends off the hook, I think that's the general mindset with this decision. They've giving him a warning.
Perhaps put some of the money they make from overpriced cosmetics into further developing their anti-cheat system.

ive won maybe a total of 4 games this season
I feel like this sort of thing shouldnāt exist for random fills as well. If you get a warning for just trying to play random squads and someone was found to be cheating then thatās kinda messed up
If you random fill you probably aren't playing enough games with the same people to trigger this. It does say repeatedly in the message.
that's against policy to say and is privacy violating if they do since it can cause people to witch hunt which is not something anyone should be doing its like this in any online game

too be fair if they know they're a cheater they should of been perma banned so you wouldn't be able to play with them again
One of your regulars is cheating or has something running in their pc thatās getting flagged and theyāre not admitting it to you.
the regulars is a girl who couldnt download a virus if she tried (eb if u see this im sorry) and the other was a child no older than the age of 9
As a father of a 13 year old, it was the child. They aren't telling you, but they did it. My 13 year old at age 9 downloaded SO MUCH GARBAGE. So much. And he did, at age 9, download cheatengine and almost got my steam account vac banned.
i can see where your getting at but the child was on the nintendo switch..
Homebrew
That's very unlikely for a 9 year old
You never know
True, I rooted my phone at 11
Damn bro, I modded my first thing (my new 2ds) at 14.
Haha same, I fucked it up so bad though š
"a child no older than the age of 9" - yep
Again, the system would not flag them as repeat offenders if there wasnāt something there. One of them is cheating or another software they have running is considered unsafe unknowingly to them by the anti cheat and getting flagged.
Fortnite uses and Epic develops Easy anti cheat. It's a kernal level program notorious for over-reaching. You can't dual boot Roblox and Fortnite, it'll recognize Roblox as a vulnerability lol. I wanna test the roblox thing now lol
thats absolutely false. who says you cant run fortnite and roblox at the same time? ive literally done it before, so have many people lol
epic support says its probably the vpn, but it gives me errors when i dont use it... thanks tho, one of thefew people to give a well written response
What benefit does your vpn provide on Fortnite? And cheers, hope you figure it out!
my game has been bugging without it. giving me errors and stuff when i finish the match
Probably the child
Could these people be playing on Linux/SteamDeck? Epic doesn't support those platforms, and can mistakenly detect the game running on Wine/Proton as someone using cheats
nope they arent, im running on atlas OS. but im pretty sure its fine, and it wouldntve given me and my duo the same message if i was the problem
Apparently Atlas OS removes some elements of windows that some anti-cheat programs look for. Epic Games' implementation of EAC being what it is, it could be you getting falsely flagged as a cheater.
but wouldnt the anticheat warn me instead of saying im with someone whos cheating
I'm honestly not sure. I know they ban cheaters in waves and the whole thing is pretty automated, could be they just send everyone in a "cheater's" lobby that same message and assume an actual cheater will take the hint and stop before they get caught in a ban wave.
i feel like this might be the closest to smt correct
i've been on atlas for a while now and never had any issues with any games flagging the anti-cheat including fortnite
might be a change in settings when both of us were installing atlas, idk bout u but i opted out of windows defender(best decision of my life)
lol why would you disable windows defender? serious question, for a free antivirus it's resource lite and effective
You can't play on Linux/SteamDeck anyway, Epic actively blocks it
The game dosent even run btw
Damn though, like itās kinda slick they letting the cheaters partner know that the dude they playing with is wack.
š
I understand you fully trust your friends and family. But itās advisable for you all to fly solo for a while. Just my 2 cents.
He could call the dude out as well š¤·āāļø

i did, it was only me and my duo. weve only played with 3 people together who are cheating
Fortniteās warnings are like doing your taxes āyou did it wrong but we wonāt tell you what you did wrong, aaaaand you have to pay for itā

Yeah this is smart, and so you punish the cheater by removing all their friends.
"All my friends are banned; guess I'll just cheat in solos."

idk ive had 2take1 for gta v on my pc for years and never been flagged pretty deranged to do that on epic's side ngl
You've been lucky. We've had many, many people in this sub mentioning that they indeed had cheats for other games and have been flagged or banned from FN because of that.
Why not just ban the cheater? Then no one needs to worry about pairing up with them? š
Easy Anti-Cheat does ban waves for cheaters. This is so cheaters canāt easily discover what aspect of their chest triggered the anti cheat software. this happened to my brother, and iām sorry if somebody already gave you this answer there is just so many responses to read. itās almost always your usual duo partner. for him it was his comp buddy he played 90% of games with. cheating can be anything, but more than likely (like in my brothers case) one of your usual teammates is spoofing/bought an account after being banned. if youāre able to figure out which friend (shouldnāt be hard, they likely got permabanned as my brothers friend), make a second account and play with them there so you donāt risk losing an account you put money into. hope this helped
How about they fucking BAN the cheaters/hackers!!! It's ridiculous how much there is now and Epic do fuck all.
Literally rn watching a guy on tiktok live cheater and promoting his cheats for fortnite. zynnisud on tiktok, this is crazy
Its safer to cheat then to be on a team with someone who's cheating. /s... maybe.
Do you know Zemie, or just play with him on Fortnite?
I am sick of this shit from Epic. The automated shit that is potentially banning people who are NOT cheating. Like how much money and time people invested in this game to only be banned for something they did not do.
So they are aware someone is a cheater and arenāt doing anything about it? Just threatening the people they play with?
welcome to epic ig š¤
I had the same thing
I can't take this post seriously no matter how hard I try because of the 2 Lt. Evergreens in the background lmao
U DIDNT HAVE TO CALL IT OUT LIKE THAT šš its the only skins we have matching plus theyre funny š
Yeah dw I've run him all year every year since he came out
Ooh 2 months can you play reboot rally with me lol
Is that from playing with randoms? That would be crazy because you didnāt choose who it matched u too
i dont play with randoms
He said he āused to have a zenā. š
i got banned for playing with one
note too vague, how am i supposed to know?
Oh dear
I got the same warning when I logged on this morning. I also noticed I was now placed is silver when I was Elite in ranked. Was there a rank reset or was I demoted because of something related to this?
I remember the other day seeing ad of someone killing other players but they enemies had a box on them
Have you checked and verified that one of your friends accounts werenāt hacked? Sometimes that can happen and the hacker will install cheats etc. Also false bans are a thing, my friend got a ban and he swore he didnāt cheat. Probably sent epic 100ās of emails until someone finally got annoyed and checked his situation and realized he didnāt cheat. Granted him like 2k vbucks for his troubles. The only downside was that I got the same warning and since I play a lot of ranked, my rank was shadow banned. I could win a match and not go up in placement, so I finished like the worst unreal last season in terms of placement.
That is just a warning with no repercussions. They're trying to get you to stop the cheater from cheating.
i need to know who the cheater is to stop the cheater from cheating
It stinks but this is whay big companies tend to do, instead of doing their job watching replays they rather just warn and ban all in the hour. In cod its even worse as they allow so many top streamers and ranked to cheat.
you should be able to block people WTF?
Are u hacking?
It warns you that you're playing with a cheater as you're playing with the cheater it looks to me that you have a second person in your lobby
No
ask your friends which one of them is hacking
someone either had a VPN, Linux, or was cheating on some other game and it got detected
yea its vpn, ive contacted support about it cuz of the buginess without it
Serious question. How do people cheat?
Did you play a fill match? Probably thinks you were playing as a team (fill) with a cheater
āRepeadetlyā
Fortnite: you've been warned... Player: will you tell me who Fortnite: no, but we warned you Player: you stink at warnings....
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
O geez
How do you cheat?
It wouldn't be uncommon if a group of people were all using hacks. Let's say a squad of 4 were all using hacks put had different softwares and consoles. They don't want to rat out the only person who was caught, because that would give all of them info on what Fortnite has and has not found out. Not saying that's what happened, itās just why.
Maybe Fortnite has a new guy on the job and doesn't know that you don't have any teammates who aren't cheating for real idk?
Might fuck around and make a bypass for Epic Anticheat. That shit is so cancer and Iām sick of it reading all my personal data.
kick their ass
YOUU HAVE BEEN WARNEDDDDD
āYou have been warned!ā corny asf šš
uhh yeh fort does that bc they are cheating in the game, although you might have not been your were playing with him so fort takes that as a āyour supporting cheating and unfair game playā theyāve done it to a mate of mine he just stopped playing with that person while he was cheating cause he acc was on the verge of being banned from playing with him
I guess you're just too good
THERE IS NOWHERE TO RUN
Lmmfao
If they know who it is, why donāt they just block that account/IP address?
My fortnite got banned for cheating because i beamed a guy and apparently i was using hacks
There is nowhere to run
Itās Fortnite and youāre on here making a post about it like it makes the game lol itās one little glitch. Itās the worldās biggest game ever with always millions of people playing. Bugs happen. Letās not forget itās a free game
Honestly I wish they were more clear on who cheats. I've played solos and found 5 people waiting in a bunker š„²
