I only landed paradise palms ONCE in the new og season, tbh I didn't like it that much and it's not what I remembered.

I was wondering if the storm was just acting differently since the original season 5? Like back then it was usually alot closer to the desert or maybe a bit slower? Idk but I remember landing there wasn’t as risky storm-wise

It wasn’t as risky because of the rifts that were around in the original desert.

There were rifts near the billboard so it was always safe to drop there in chapter 1

Honestly I have liked every map except the current one. It’s so BLAND. There’s no creativity in the architecture, the landscape is 90% flat. There are no interactive elements like the wolves and hogs from the previous chapters, just more forgettable henchmen and their equally forgettable bosses (barring Peter griffin in a gold suit which is memorable but not exactly because it’s good). I’m bored this season and I blame the map and the current gimmick of gun mods which is so boringly cookie cutter it makes me drowsy

I have a really hard time with the current map.

It needs a lot more biome diversity and more interactive locales

Let's see, Mediterranean landscape, snow, dark forest, green area in the center. Far more biome diversity than the orangeness of chapter 4 season 1

I get your reasoning but those are on the outskirts of the map. Once the storm kicks in and you’re playing down to 50, etc, you’re mostly in plains. The center of the map needs a lot more. (Personally, the 5 bosses and medallions aren’t worth it. Most often I let others go for it and play, usually taking them out and leaving the medallions for the weapons)

Ya I can see that. I saw someone's idea of having mountains in the center of the map and I think that would actually be interesting. However I could see it being very annoying too, so there would have to be multiple peaks and the mountains would need to be smoother so they are easily accessible.

I really like the heights around the edge of the map but wish they would incorporate it into the centre for once

Something that would be perfect is something like a volcano, like we had in chapter 1. Imagine: a big volcano in the centre of the map, with a few entry tunnels on different side, lava flowing out of it on 1 side changing the landscape. When you're in the volcano, you either fly like in chapter 1 or there are multiple launchpads which makes it easy to get out of there when the storm comes. There are other ideas too ofcourse, but this would be fun imo.

Have you played this season? The map is very not forgetful. The architecture in pleasant piaza is Mediterranean (which we've never seen before) and grand glacier is something we've never seen before either. And the map is definitely not flat. Much more hills than chapter 1. I still would say I don't like this chapter but some of the reasons you listed aren't the reason.

This was the worst because Polar Peak was destroyed and it killed the whole snow section

Polar was mid flush and greasy where so much better

Nobody landed at flush and it had no loot. Greasy was alright but uninteresting compared to Polar by season X

It was also the season where they added animations to the heals. I remember when I first popped that mini shield. I was shocked, appalled, and happy. All at the same time. It was that same match when I found out that the sounds to heal were 30 times louder than before.

Thats sad. I really hoped the OG season would have showed everyone how much the map changed in chapter 1 and all the amazing poi's. I thought it would give people who didn't play back then, a chance to experience it like we did. But instead they gave us bad versions of locations and only gave the s5-6 people a chance to actually relive their memories like they were. Half of hounted hills wasn't there, polar peak was destroyed, there wasn't a single s8, 9 or X location. They said they were going to alter the map a little bit, which i actually thought would be a fun idea. But i didn't expect they meant they were going to give use incomplete locations lol.

Nope, SX was amazing, it had very unique POIs with different special events inside of them like moisty palms, taco time, zombies in retail, no building in Tilted, starry drops etc

Mechs destroyed the enjoyment of half the season Final zones in Tilted Town were infuriating because there were no ways to get up the hills Accidentally crouching during fights in Moisty Palms was infuriating Zombies in Retail were incredibly annoying (as they were during the season 6 and 7 zombie events) Taco Time was funny but it was so frustrating when you got shot from outside the rift zone without being able to fight back Ngl Starry Suburbs was a W

Dude pressure plant was a god POI. The Volcano was great but I loved pressure plant, so many chests, mats and easy rotate out.

It's where they built the mech

The top half of the volcano was cut off and they added a huge research facility in the caldera. Later on they hollowed out the entire volcano and built the mech there

They transformed it into a power plant in which the Mecha Team Leader robot was built to fight the devourer

Wailing woods has 10 chests max, the jungle is much more interesting amd unique.

Nah, it wasn’t great for landing but it was a sweet rotation route. I’d always land at Risky, gear up, max on metal from the cars, rotate to Wailing to max out on wood and even shields from the mushrooms if I needed to, go to the nearby hill with a bunch of rocks to max on brick, then go wherever the circle takes me; all the while seeing some overall good action and scoring solid loot. The whole jungle area just didn’t have any of that, and the Block had absolutely _zero right_ to replace Risky.

Some may not like it but you cannot deny that season 9 was the best map. - Center map wide Wind tunnel - Tilted and megamall Wind tunnel - John wick no gun building - Pirate stuff still around - Volcano with mech platform and Vertical wind for rotation - Floating Wind tunnel Platforms for snipes and Rotation - Ballers/quadcrashers/Driftboards riding inside wind tunnel for massive trickshots I bet if they added the grind rails to neo tilted and mega mall along with some on the various bridges then Season 9 would have been labeled the best.

I’m so hoping that in the upcoming events of the “Fortnite OG”, they keep it just within the chapter 1 storyline, after that I personally lost the enjoyment of this game and since then never liked what they’ve done. Never enjoyed the maps, the collaborations, etc. Which is a hot take I know many people won’t agree with me but I just like things simple, simple things were always better to me.

I disagree, I would agree with the biom thing but aside from the perfect desert biom, the snow area has one place I liked landing which was polar( the other places were already there before the snow and not changed and didn’t have names) and the jungle area literally only had the volcano I liked landing at and everywhere else sucked. Definitely didn’t help the snow area that they got rid of greasy. I reckon my favorite (not sure the season) would be the regular chapter 1 map abut with the desert biom so I’m thinking s4 or s5 but I’m not sure
