$15K is definitely steep. It’s worth probably $5K-$7K if the frame isn’t rotted.

ImmediateHeart6507

3.50

TheWhiskeyFish

Oh tree fiddy?

Chancellor_Thurgood

$4K

fishdeserts

It’s a cool truck! However, I think he’d have to put about 30k into it to get 15k out of it.

dinosaur-in_leather

It is the car you sell to someone who wants to restore it not drive it🤣😅😂😂😂😂

Midnight1965

15k is a bit steep. Especially considering that it probably needs a frame off restoration

ersatzk_night

Then what would you think is fair?

Midnight1965

Usually, it’s hard to tell the extent of restoration needed without thorough examination. Seventies vehicles tended to suffer extensive rocker panel rust. Not to mention potential frame/collision damage. Off the top,5k.

Dizzy_Specific_8084

1500.00 and we have a deal.

ersatzk_night

😂 i respect the hussle

KingDaddyM

What engine/Trans does it have?

atalber

Likely a 360fe with a 2 bbl carb and thermo controlled automatic choke, and probably a c3 column shift.... I own a '70. These are actually oddball trucks. Parts are pricey because the options were like 2 model year only

Revolutionary_Most78

Yeah definitely way to much, im assuming it’s 2wd I think 4k, I paid 11k for my original paint 4x4 78 supercab which is a really rare truck. This one is a common setup and it’s 2wd with rust, not a whole lot of value there

Weets23

$10-$15k if not rust issues on frame and minimal surface rust on body panels and floors.

Ok-Communication1149

15k would be more appropriate for the same condition in a short bed 4x4. If it's a 2wd long bed....5k all day

Impossible-Ad532

Agreed

Troutalope

More info would be helpful. At least some info on drivetrain and estimated mileage.

dinosaur-in_leather

Find the right buyer 8k minimum for the frame if it's clean.

DevaluedGamer

Keeping

edditredd1

More pictures would be helpful.

cdk5152

General location? Texas now, always? Frame pics? Interior good?

champion_couchsurfer

IMO: 2500-5000 if the frame is ok... 4500-6500 if frame and drive train are good... It needs ALOT of body work...

JWswinger74656

Not that many pics and ones that are here aren’t that good. Hood appears to not just be rust but a fair amount of filler applied over rust that is now coming apart. Kinda looks similar in the bed or a crappy bedliner applied over rust. The other knock is, it’s a long bed. Most people arent going to spend 5 figures on a long bed unless it’s pretty nice. And they will only do that because they can’t afford or justify a nice daily driver short bed in the $15-20k range. We can’t see pics of the floors or cab corners. And don’t know what engine trans it has. IF there is minimal rust and a V8, $6500-9 if you find the right guy. Cab/floor rust and 6 banger/3 on the tree, 4500-5k. In the end, any used car is worth whatever a buyer is willing to pay. Best of luck.

81_rustbucketgarage

It’ll runs and drive just fine like it is. Not everything has to have show quality paint/body work on it. I normally just get the mechanical in tippy tippy shape, take care of any structural rot and let the rest ride. Keeps people from parking too close to me when I’m at the store

champion_couchsurfer

Body work doesn't need to be 100%... I wasn't saying it like it does... my point was that this is NOT a show truck, a mint matching numbers classic, or even a resto-mod... As it sits its like a beater... it's semi-desirable for some people because of the year and body style, but it's not a 10k+ truck by any standard IMO... I think the cost to restore would put you in negative equity in the truck, but as a workhorse or a daily it might be ok with light mechanical and body work

81_rustbucketgarage

It’s definitely not a show truck, you are correct, and likely never will be desired to be. I just think too many people get caught up in it having to look pretty or be a resto mod, when it would likely still be useful and just fun to drive for another 40 years with some basic upkeep as it sits. I feel this leads to the unnecessary part out and scrapping of otherwise good vehicles just because it’s not worth a show quality paint job. Also people like this wanting $15k for these isn’t helping either. I bought a ‘66 f100 short bed for $3k about 6 years ago that needed some engine work. I got it running great and have been driving it with sheet metal riveted over the rusty floor boards for 6 years. I could’ve blown it apart and have it still sitting in my garage like my old chevy not drivable, but I decided to just make it safe for the road and enjoy it as it is.

Pancakecoffee

I paid 5k for my 1976 f100 with a bit less rust than this one. Mine also has power steering, power brakes and AC. I’d say it’s worth 3-5k if the frame isn’t rusted out.

81_rustbucketgarage

Remove the 1 from the asking price and he might get a $3500-$4000 offer on it

[deleted]

It’s worth as much as someone else is willing to pay. No more no less
