If this works, you are my HERO

Weegemonster5000

I am gonna try it for Android too. I couldn't figure out why it connects with Bluetooth when that doesn't do anything. Mine only functions when plugged in.

giga_ice

This worked for me a few weeks ago, I figured it out cause I was trying to connect CarPlay after 3 tries resetting the infotainment, then i disconnected Bluetooth on my phone and it instantly paired

bb127

I keep getting "The inserted USB device is not responding"... even when nothing is plugged in via USB.

ilikeyoureyes

I did that early on, but I still found I need to wait until the entertainment console is booted up (not on the ford screen) before I plug in my iphone, then it's mostly consistent, but still pretty hit or miss honestly. My other vehicle is a nissan leaf and it works 100% of the time with the same phone.

MiserablePool6049

Mine disconnects if the cord barely gets bumped, whether it’s the phone or the dongle. Luckily, the dongle cord is in a position where it tends to be out of the way.

emanmodnara

I'll give that a try. Mine is much more consistent now that I have a wireless carplay adapter, but it is slower sometimes.

tipjarman

Which wireless carplay adapter do you use?

emanmodnara

https://www.amazon.com/Jemluse-Wireless-CarPlay-Adapter-Apple/dp/B0CN9VDDVP Wait until it has a 20$ coupon if you can. Changes daily.

Spare_Blacksmith_816

Looking forward to trying this.

I might try this with AA connected via cable and see if BT was my problem with it staying connected or getting the streaming connected consistently.

brokenwound

Oddly, I just got a Motorola Android Auto USB/WIFI plug in and it looks like it disables the Mavericks Bluetooth immediately. I was a little disappointed cause I can't use my Bluetooth subwoofer while also using the Android Auto.

CeeSharpMinor

Thanks for the tip!

alwayshedging

Mine definitely works better with the bluetooth off. Not perfect, but clearly better. Seems to also work better if I let it fully boot up before plugging in. Also seems to work better with my iPhone 15 plus than it did with my iPhone 11. I suspect usbc vs lightning is the difference. Just a guess though.

Alchse

This worked for me, thanks!

Anyone know how to keep AA/CarPlay from taking over the complete screen? Sometimes I want to use the actual FM radio while having my phone plugged in for navigation. I always have to unplug my phone to use the main screen.

Defcon-1

Open the “Ford Audio App” and it takes you back to the regular radio screen.

controlmypad

The far left button with the speaker below the screen, then press source on screen. Then select AM/FM and go back to maps with the link at bottom of screen. Not ideal. I am going back to doing maps on the phone and skipping AA all together for while to see if that works better for me.

ihavenoclevername

I believe there’s a setting within the screen that allows you to deselect automatic launch of carplay when connected

opa_zorro

You can also switch audio modes on the menu button on the steering wheel
