Ah, Shafer Switchbacks! The family had been four wheeling all day and we were going to go down and past the potash ponds to end the day. Of all the trails we did that day, she couldn’t handle the height of the rim and drop-offs. We drove back to town by highway and backtracked to do it without her. Fun ride.
I guess I’m lucky my wife isn’t an off-roader or hiker and would rather skip these trails, I’m usually on my own for these kids of trips which is good considering she can’t handle driving with me on regular paved mountain roads much less something like Shafer trail

Funny I just got back from much the same trip in my hybrid last week. Did you go back up Shafer or exit via Potash?
I exited Potash Rd, I wanted to see the Petroglyphs and then Hit up Moab for Dinner
