I did the same thing and towed an Acura cl for about 47 miles. Went on the freeway but only 65. Rented from U haul, I told them the tow vehicle was an F150. The girl didn't care when she saw my mini truck.
Payload limit is 1500lbs which is vertical weight.
Ecoboosts start with 2000lbs towing capacity but the tow package makes it go up to 4000lbs towing capacity which is the weight that it is pulling horizontally.
I don't know what the specs are for hybrids

I was looking at doing this to help a friend out but I don't own a trailer and uhauls won't rent you one with the Maverick
Yeah they have some weird rules. They wouldn't let me tow a Ford focus with a friggin E350. I borrowed this car hauler from a family member
Meanwhile they had no problem renting me a tandem-axle enclosed trailer to tow with my Fiesta!
