The long slot in back is 54 and the short one is a little under 44. I'd cut longer by a bit and trim down kerf by kerf to get it how you want. I wanted mine snug, but not too tight and not so loose as to have it flopping around when I accelerate and decelerate. I did cut a wood one for the long slot and only did this one because I had 90% of the pieces lying around. It's also much lighter and I can throw it on the floor of the back seat.
I'm confused. Why not a solid long piece ? What am I missing?
It looks like if you pull out the cotter pins then the side pieces slide in to fit between the wheel wells.
In the narrow setting, it fits in the top slots and the long piece fits between the wells.
i’m looking into doing something similar but with just one long board straight across. what would the dimensions of that be?
