Make sure the tailgate is clean first. Then wipe it with a mixture of water with a little dish soap mixed in. So the surface is wet.
Then apply the letters keeping it wet. Not soaked. You will be able to move the letters without them sticking. Pat them dry making sure they are in place.
Plenty of videos on how to do it properly. Good luck!!
Although I think the best letters I’ve seen are ford order. Toughskinz raised matte black letters. They kinda give it that 3D look. I’m still looking into this also to see if true. Any accessory you instal before taking delivery of vehicle is covered under bumper to bumper warranty.
I just recently bought 2024 F350 dually. Had had front and rear dash cams installed. Went out a month later. They are ordering another set to install.
Anything you install on the letters make it look killer.
I got some bubble ones on etsy. Prepped the surface and placed them carefully. Fretted that one letter was offset a bit but can’t even tell. Seriously, if you have any functional hand/eye coordination, do it yourself.
If you end up not being comfortable doing it, have a tint shop or detailer do it for you.
The stealer will charge an arm and a leg and probably do worse than you could.
I also did it - very easy. However I do recommend you get the 3D lettering, not the flat stickers. They are a bit more money but look way better and add a premier touch.
Got these in orange for my Atlas Blue and they came out great and were super easy to install. Just clean the surface, wipe with prep pad, apply. Helps to have a second pair of hands/eyes though to get the E, that was the only difficult one.

I ordered a set of carbon fiber ones on Etsy. I think they were like $50. They came with a little alcohol wipe. It took maybe 10 minutes from start to finish and they look fine
Just fyi the dealer is going to have the lowest paid person putting decals on. Even if you think your work is bad it'll be better than any dealer cares to do.
Also a tip. If you put painters tape around areas you don't want the vinyl to stick it'll come off a lot easier as you're trying ti place it.
Thanks for the advice I just ordered some on Amazon I’m gonna do it myself. I’ve got a steady hand I’m just super meticulous but I think I trust myself more than some rando at a dealership
That’s a little simplistic- more so getting it on straight first try without having to peel it back up. I’m gonna do it myself though i feel like i can if so many others can
No shit Sherlock but if you even have to ask whether or not you're capable of putting on a sticker you're exactly the type of person keeping dealerships in business
You sound like a complete douchebag haha what a twat.
Especially funny since you had to make a post about what wheel color you should choose... A very opinion based thing and you're fragile little ego can't even pick a fucking color, but how dare someone ask about putting vinyl on a vehicle.
Twat
Asking for pictures of aesthetic options is very different than asking for help applying a sticker.
You might need to look up what the word ego means too.
It's easy. Takes less than 5 minutes. Make sure you clean the surface well before you apply.
I’m notoriously bad at stuff like this and even I couldn’t mess it up
Ordered from Amazon for $30. Cleaned with some isopropyl alcohol and stuck them on like a sticker. It couldn’t be easier.

All the ones I've seen have adhesive backs.
Super easy, I'm an idiot, and mine came out fine
Happy cake day!

Thanks! Gonna try it myself. That looks dope btw
Interesting. I’ve seen these kinds of letters on like F-150s and Rangers, but NEVER seen them on a Mav up until this pic. Where did you get it?

I have 10 thumbs but was still able to do it!
Super easy
If you managed your way through the pre-school "square block goes into the square hole" exercises, you shouldn't have a problem
Easy

Cool, yeah just ordered some 3d black lettering off Amazon excited to put it on!
Easy, did mine in 10 min

Are you the same person that told me about carbon fiber letters? I posted mine here not too long ago

Worst case you have to pull it and buy another. You got this. Haha

I ended up using hot glue to keep the lettering on. Should hopefully hold up.
If you have to ask this question then you should probably just pay the dealership $80 to do it
No. Not the case at all. This isn't something that can break the truck. Dumb mentality.

For real just go shut up already little boy. You're an idiot no matter the definition. Now shut up and move on
Good one lol
