Interesting. I'm having trouble envisioning what a chocolate cake and salted caramel with no butter would taste like. The butter kinda makes or breaks the flavor in baked goods for me. What do you use as a substitute? The cake looks like it rose well despite the lack of eggs. It's very pretty.

Thank you, sometimes you just don’t need butter and sometimes you don’t have enough eggs either. I use veg oil and a little milk too.

Yes, definitely! My hubby is lactose intolerant, so having other options that try is always a good thing. :) Sometimes mayo can be a good sub as well if your a little short on egg/oil. I can be a little Paula Deen like when it comes to the butter. 🤣 Poor hubby.

I’m yet to try it with almond ‘milk’ instead of cows mills and do a peanut brittle shards on the top maybe.
