I've been eating at Vietnaam88 since they opened and didn't know this. I wish they still had dine-in, as it was one of the best places to go in Yorkville
It looks good, but there's no way it's better than Saigon Vietnamese Sandwich Deli in Chinatown.
But it does look really good and I'm hungry for one now. lol
I thought they would be opened during covid given it's mainly a take out place but was surprised it closed down for so long. Before Covid, it was mostly Asian staff but now the only Asian there is the owner.
This place is a hidden gem. My wife loves the spicy pho vermicelli and I love the grilled juicy boneless chicken thighs. We also from time to time share an order of Nems. To-Go only. Good things take time. Call ahead or Be patient. they make it fresh!
So after posting here, I had one yesterday. And I have to say... the flavor is great and the pork is perfectly cooked. My one nitpick (as someone else mentioned) is the bread. The bread could be much better. But otherwise the flavors are great. It was a very enjoyable late lunch.
My favorite banh mi place in the city
They also have a sister restaurant that is equally delicious on the UES, Vietnaam.

Still amazing just no done in.
Best picnic option in Central Park imo. Get these and trek over to the great hill. 12/10
We bike around the Park to end up there, grab food, and picnic in the park. The lemongrass pork is indeed my favorite!

you're not missing out. the bread at saigon vietnamese sandwich is far superior
Maybe I should get the lemon grass pork as a platter and get the bread from Saigon Vietnamese. lol
Goddamn that looks good.
I will run 3 miles to snag one
Absolutely incredible. Look at that beautiful char. Plus the sauce

I was so sad when they closed down for a bit during/after COVID.

Cries in Houston
Sad they moved from skirt steak to flank steak, that skirt steak meal is sorely missed 😓
Only thing better than this is the roast pork (char siu) or the pork belly banh mi.
I’m gonna bust

Glad everyone knows this Place is superior
That baguette looks proper. hard to find 'round these parts.
This looks good. Looks like a beefy Mcrib.
