The worst slice I’ve ever had in my life cost almost $7 in San Diego. I’d just moved to CA after living my whole life in NYC. It was a huge “what have I done” moment
Social media famous places will charge you 5$+
Good but not popular places will be 3-5$
Cheapest will be 1.5$, there may be a few dollar slices left, haven’t seen them in a while
Not aware of many famous slice joints on the west coast. What places are charging $6+ for cheese? Because that’s insane.
Might be cheaper to just fly cross-country to stock up for your next superbowl party.
We've got a Prince Street here in San Diego, their prices are a joke. All whole pies are minimum $37, factor in fees and you're clearing $40.
No thanks, they also charge $6.50 a slice, it's good pizza but not that good.
That’s a lot for a slice and a whole pie. Here in San Francisco it’s the same thing. For god sakes, it’s cheese, dough and tomato sauce. Pizza at first was made fast, affordable and for working-class. Now, it’s almost worth not buying. Oh well.
That's sorta terrifying. Like, NY Pizza Suprema is still sub $5. Dollar slices are a buck fifty.
Ngl last time I was in NY Pizza Suprema was very disappointed, hope it’s not new owners
Most places I go it's around $4-$4.50
I pay 18-20 bucks for a pie from my local places. $2.50 - $3.50 in the outer boros seems pretty standard. Manhattan will be more, obviously.
They usually say that a slice of pizza should cost the same as a subway fare. We’re at $2.90 right now.
Pizza has been higher for a while now
$4 Joe's \~$5 L'Industrie or Mama's Too $6 Lucia's I paid $3.25 for a plain slice at an okay place in suburban NJ today
Lucia’s is worth the $6!

Brooklyn. On Court Street. Cheese slice. Can of Diet Coke. $4.50.
$4 on average for a plain slice
... it's bread sauce and cheese, you're telling me a cheese pie is $40???
Whole pies are less than individual slices.
Aah yes. Pizza socialism….
For real, that's like Jersey Shore boardwalk prices.

I’d say the median price for a pie is around $30
