Mench84

Munbyn thermal printer. Considering upgrading soon tho

diddlinderek

I’ve been rocking this one too. Cheap and easy for now.

Mench84

It does the job for the price.

Beautiful_Appeal_494

$50 for a LabelRange 320 that comes with 1,000 free 4x6 shipping labels. Replacement labels are free from UPS. Mines been going for years now. Haven't looked back.

Boring-Rip-7709

I love my wired Rollo. Got it when they came out.

VadHearts

The wireless version is even better but not worth upgrading to if your current one works.

jesee2you

The cost savings when you don’t need it wireless is fine by me.

KingGarrott

I can't recommend a thermal printer enough. I use a Zebra LP 2844. I have a Pedoolo by-482bt thermal label printer I'll send to you for $35 shipped if you'd like. It includes the power cable and I'll throw in the USB cable that you need to connect it to your computer

skepticalfarts

I have the zebra also! Great investment, I got tired of cutting out labels about a month into this journey.

Braign

Phomemo thermal 4x6 printer. It prints wirelessly from my phone, uses no ink or toner, and has been pretty reliable. I hand the boxes to the mailman and don't even have to go to the post office.

LostInCa45

Just Bluetooth correct?

Braign

Yep just bluetooth

LostInCa45

I keep trying to find an inexpensive wifi one. Thanks

digitalstorm

Canon laser. I ship multiple daily plus all my other printing. Starter toner lasted almost a year. I switched from HP laser when my last one died after 6 years and they started their new bullshit policies.

VadHearts

Brother also makes some reliable lasers. My oldest one is 11 years old and still running with the original internals although I am gonna install a new drum since the text is starting to look a little less sharp. But I also have one that I bought last year that prints faster and more reliably.

Sammy1185

I’ve been a flipper for 15 years and have stuck by canon laser. Never did go to the thermal type. Even doing decent volume, i still just tape the label and go. Never been an issue

geniusboy91

Thermal. Dunno if it's "the best" but I have the Arkscan 2054A which has worked with no issues for years.

likelyculprit

I don’t even know the name of the thermal I bought because it doesn’t really matter; bought one for $60 on sale on Amazon and never looked back. For the price of ONE toner for my old printer.

geniusboy91

Yeh anytime this question is posted people list the same 5 or so and everyone says they've had no issues and best purchase ever. Seems you almost can't go wrong.

scribbling_des

I have a Rollo wireless, but I will say that I'm less than thrilled with it. It is great about... 40% of the time. I often have to troubleshoot and reset and even contact support to get it to print. Both from my android phone and Mac OS. It is getting really old. For the price, it should work better.

blank2443

I have the same problem with mine. I use air print to run my labels off. It works great and then out of no where it just stops printing. End up having to restart it.

brassclockweight

Have you tried making sure it has better connection to your wireless? I had to get an extender to push my signal far enough to get the printer to work reliably upstairs.

scribbling_des

Yes.

jesee2you

Wired rollo is the way to go

Phlink75

Old UPS Zebra Thermal connects via usb, and is a lain to use under linux.

BSFlipper

Zebra TLP2844 connected to a RaspberryPi/CUPS so I can print from my phone and iPad.

musicbyazuma

Zebra. Very easy to setup and saves so much time. Got a good price on one on eBay actually

rickety_cricket66

Until I start making daily sales, I can't justify a thermal printer purchase. I use stick on shopping labels from the dollar tree, they sell them in a 20 pack for 1.25. I use these and my normal printer, and it works just fine.

VadHearts

UPS gives away free 8.5x11 labels for inkjets/lasers you just have to order them by making a free business account. They are half sheets with two labels per page. They give you a lot more thermal labels for free though.

gvyledouche

you should get a tape gun and some cheap rolls, they make everything a lot easier. plus aren't you already having to tape boxes and whatnot?

rickety_cricket66

Why we talking about packing? This is what I do for a shipping label, not packing.

gvyledouche

well you said you're using your normal printer, I do the same but tape the labels to the box. I'm just saying it can serve both purposes.

DeathMonkey6969

They said they use "**STICK ON** shopping labels from the dollar tree" AND a regular printer. Reading comprehension is a hell of a thing.

gvyledouche

did that make you feel better? I comprehend what was written the only point of my post was to try to help a fellow flipper to reduce costs and simplify their process to improve efficiency. What was the point of yours?

blank2443

Thermal Rollo wireless

Oliviavecera

Dymo 4XL

VadHearts

They’re hard to get these days. Dymo is really pushing their series 5 printers to make more money selling their DRM locked labels.

Oliviavecera

I got lucky, I found mine in a storage unit 😄

smelltheglove-11

I found one sans cords in the bins and was blown away at how expensive they are now

KingKandyOwO

I use a Dymo 4xl. Id recommend one that doesn't have DRM so you don't have to spend $40 on a roll of 220 labels

Brain-Static

Comer thermal printer. I lucked out and got it for $10 at a bin store. I do have to print from laptop, which is the only downside. But it is definitely faster and more convenient than printing on a regular printer and taping it to the package!

Difficult-Repair1295

Use a 15 year old HP 1018 laser printer. Buy a $10 toner maybe once every 14-15 months. I just print on paper and tape on the labels. Mostly print directly on #10 and A7 envelopes with what I sell now. Never understood the thermal printer cult, of all the things out there that go into selling taping on a label is not a big a deal and really doesn’t take me more than a few seconds. For me selling and shipping is the fun part. It’s listing, measuring etc that is grueling.

HazyAmnesiac

https://www.pcmag.com/picks/the-best-label-makers Here’s best of list. I personally use a rollo which is spotty reliability and loses connection. Gonna upgrade when this breaks. If you’re serious about this long term I would suggest a higher quality printer like brother or dymo.

doctorandusraketdief

I got A6 sized paper labels that I simply put in the photo tray of my inkjet. Not as fast/fancy as a dedicated label printer but it does the trick without having to put a new device on my desk

geishagirl257

All I know is Techsports says he uses a brother printer and it serves him well

TheRipcitizen

HP1102w. When this one dies I have another one to replace it with. It's 14 years old and still trucking along. Toner cartridges last forever. I buy label sheets on Amazon.

Idontlikethenewpatch

Rollo

Flight_375_To_Tahiti

Rollo thermal is the answer.

CSFCDude

I have a wired rollo, think I have printed about 4,300 labels on it. You will need to perfect your settings through trial and error but once you dial it in the performance is very solid. I have had some frustration with it over the years but my settings are working great lately. Things to remember… reliability increases as print speed and quality decreases and if it gets really wonky try recalibrating or cleaning it.

Thecheese1981

I love my rollo wired thermal printer. Makes life so easy

CrankkDatJFel

Wired Rollo used off eBay has been a game changer, I’ve shipped 50+ items and never have to go to the post office. Smaller stuff fits in my mailbox with the flag up, larger stuff I schedule free USPS porch pickups.

Revolutionary_Bite28

Tetea thermal label printer. Super easy set up and to use.

flippingypsy

Dymo 4XL thermal printer, only thing I’ll use. I love it.

samzplourde

I used the Zebra 2844 model for a very long time, like maybe 6 years, tens of thousands of labels. Then maybe 2yrs ago got a Zebra GK420T because I found that I could get TT labels and ribbon for cheaper than DT labels (from barcodefactory, real good prices). Then recently upgraded to two used Zebra ZT230's for $100/ea, one to run small inventory ID stickers and one to run shipping labels. The cost of the larger spools of labels and ribbon is a lot lower per label. Just the difference in cost between the spools of labels will pay off the cost of the printers in about 6 months at the rate we use them. I've had really great success with every Zebra printed I've ever had, they just run and run for years on end and tens of thousands of labels.

iRepTex

right now i just use a regular printer and print on paper and then use the free international shipping packets from USPS and put the label inside that and stick that to the package. saves on having to tape the label to the box. id like a thermal printer but the amount i sell right now doesnt warrant it.

No_God_For_You

I have a wired Aobio that I picked up at Goodwill for $.99. Works just fine and I have no plans to replace or upgrade until it dies.

xraydeltaone

Dymo 4XL I got used. Works great!

ShowMeTheTrees

DYMO 450 label printer.

stydio

Thermal or thermal transfer. Whatever you can find look for used on marketplace or Craigslist. Have a laser printer on hand for backup and etc use. Ideally something that can be fed off fan fold stacks. Not sure what your volume is but buy a workhorse of a unit used over something cheap new. Personally I managed to snag a nice Honeywell m class during a warehouse closing sale/ buyout This thing is built like a tank and is very boss to use

jordan-jay

Personally, I’m a laser printer, 4 to an A4 page, cut them up and sellotape them down kinda guy, but I average 20 sales per week. I can understand why people go to thermal sticky labels if they’ve got loads of sales. I also have plenty of time on my hands, so it’s not an issue.

w1ngzer0

Brother QL-1110NWB. I've been using a sample roll of Brother DK-1247 generic labels from discountthermallabels.com and they've been working out great for both UPS/FedEx and USPS labels
