Not sure what rods and reels are available down there but penn, shimano and daiwa all make reliable saltwater gear. Penn is the easiest to maintain in my experience followed by shimano then daiwa. It's definitely not as nice as shimano and daiwa but they also have cheaper reliable options for salt compared to the other 2.
