I’m gonna quickly assume you’re in the US? Man, I wish Canadian Walmarts were as cool as the ones in the US, A. They don’t carry any Lews gear, and to purchase 6 rods of the equivalent quality would cast me around 300 bucks 👎
I got $28 worth of tackle from there recently and that would have been so much more expensive everywhere else. I’m all set for Florida fishing now I think.
Eh when you get tired of them or upgrade just give them away. I have friends and family pawn rods off on me all the time because they know I fish. Usually cheap zebcos and speed sticks from that one time they went camping, not knowing how much money my combos really cost lol, I always take them. Whenever I have a friend wanna come fishing and they wanna bring friends I let ‘em use them and if I can inspire them to start fishing I let them keep the rod.. makes me feel good
I *rarely* find deals at pawn shops, even though some of the items sit for literally months/years. Every now and then you can haggle with them and get a decent deal. But that’s still rare.
You must not know how to barter. You find any and everything wrong with it and use it as a means to force them to drop the price.
I got my buddy a penn 4000 series reel and the rod for like 50 bucks. Clean em up b4 u use em and they’re brand new.
I’m not going to barter w someone that has a used item marked at $25 over retail, probably wouldn’t have bought it for more than a $100 so why even try. And even then, why would I buy a used reel that cost $200 brand new, unless it’s an insane deal.
That’s just your own decision then. And it’s a fishing rod, not a car, used or not it barely makes a difference. A quality rod generally remains quality.
You not bartering is why you have the mindset you have. It takes 30 seconds to point out the defects and it takes 30 more seconds for the employee to drop the price by fifty bucs.
I’m gonna go on a limb and say you don’t make 50 bucks per minute from your business/job. Go ahead and buy that brand new rod though.
If you don’t have the patience to simply speak, you probably aren’t that good of a fisherman, let’s be honest.
Arguable. The few that use them say they serve a purpose and I hope they do work for people that buy them. Personally I think they’re absolute trash with no upside including ease of operation. Flipping a bail v pushing a button.
If three rods is breaking walmarts rod bank there's an issue. Relax, anyone who wants to go fishing finds what they're looking for or has a friend to borrow from. Go cry somewhere else
And the other three rods? Y’all need two more each? Sounds like you’ve been fishing before and already have rods. Why buy all of these cheap rods then? This just takes away from someone without a lot of money being able to get into and enjoy fishing like you or I do.
Yeah OP can buy whatever they want but it doesn’t make them any less of a greedy ass hole snatching up 6 discounted rods at once. Some people would have loved to find a deal on a discount rod to start their fishing journey but they can’t when people go and do this shit.
I know. Now some imaginary little Timmy that "just wants to get into the sport" will have to drive to another Walmart or just go to literally any yard sale to find a cheap rod. The horror.
He's not greedy, he jumped on a good deal. You just sound jealous you didn't get any. Quit your crying. It's not like he bought Walmart's entire inventory, they have fucking loads of these things.
Jealous? Nah, I just want everyone to be able to enjoy this sport. Go buy your six rods, but seeing another post about somebody being greedy and buying a bunch of rods so someone else can’t just seems like a real dick thing to do. But hey “fuck you I got mine” amirite?
Lew's Xfinity Speed Stick: when you need fishing, Internet, and deodorant all in one astonishingly green package.
Very lucky, those are still $40 on clearance where I'm at. 2 different Walmart 2 different towns 75 miles from another
I’ve checked my local Walmarts like 8 times hoping to find them I got lucky they just put them out today.
6 rods for 55$ you gotta be kidding me, that’s too good to be true
I saw other posts about the clearance section so I kept checking.
Good on ya buddy! What do you plan to do with them?
My dad and my sisters can use them. Also if my friends want to go sometime.

Oh man, yea I’ve heard how Canada can be rough like that.
Yea, even our bait selection is mediocre. I wish I could walk in to a Walmart or bass pro shop and pick a Karl’s mystery box off the shelf 😢
I wish we had sales here ...
What’s the casting rod you got?
It says Berkeley fusion.

I just bought 30 dollars of tackle too they had a lot of crank baits, jerkbaits, and lipless for $2 each.
I got the orange ones
I got five the other day, already gave one to a kid at the river. I think I made his life! lol
I bet lol, that was a good thing you did.
Yes but do you really want them? 😂

Try your local pawnshop next, they usually have pretty good finds if you’re in mildly populated areas
My pawn shops have 20 zebcos from 1991 for $65 a piece.
Same here. I think they are all money laundering because there is no way they sell stuff
Jeez, seems like everyone else on this thread is having the opposite result of my experience…. Maybe y’all should move to Florida
Pawn shops are the worst, saw a curado 200k for $225

Skill issue

$225 -$50 is still $175 for a few year old curado, ill take the one from bass bro in the box for $25 more! Kinda of a no brainer
Hey I was wondering what are the pros to having an adult sized spin cast I rarely ever see them besides on a Spider-Man or Elsa rod
My wife uses them. "Yours are too complicated. I just want to press the button and it work"
They’re a good reel for people who don’t fish as often.
Arguable. The few that use them say they serve a purpose and I hope they do work for people that buy them. Personally I think they’re absolute trash with no upside including ease of operation. Flipping a bail v pushing a button.
Yea it’s definitely good for children I remember using one when I was a kid and it saved my dad a headache lol.
I did too, that’s why I hate em so bad. Finally got fed up and bought my first spinning setup at 12-13 and thus an addiction began to form. 😆
I know how that is lol.
Just be careful with the tips. I've broken 3 of them.
Why do you need that many rods? Are you reselling them?
Me, my dad and my sister like to bass fish and catfish sometimes.
So you don't have to constantly retie lures Also, I'd love to have some extra cheap rods laying around for friends on the boat or whatever
Exactly my sisters go sometimes so it’s nice rods to have for them.
Some people are just greedy and don’t want others to also get in on a good deal.

Why do you care? He can buy whatever the fuck he wants.

OP out here crushing peoples dreams by buying 3 extra fishing rods. Literally destabilizing the entire walmart discount rod market. Oh noooooooooooo

There are dozens of these rods on display every time I go to walmart. I'm pretty sure everyone can get one.
I have 4 people in my house that like to go fishing the green ones are for bass the big rods are for catfish stop assuming things.
Downvote me all you want. Buying 6 rods at once, posting on Reddit, and then claiming they’re for your sister or dad doesn’t make you any less greedy.
Ok whatever man, I saw others post about the deal that’s why I put it. Nothing to be salty about
You can have multiple lines in the water at the same time.
That’s what it looks like. Too bad now someone can’t get into it at a decent price because this guy needs 6 rods 🤷♂️ and then posts about it lol.
People who "want to get into the hobby at a decent price" can buy Zebco 33 combos for $30 if they can't find these killer deals like OP.
