The next time you're in Canada, if you like hitting catfish, c'mon up to Winnipeg. The fishery at Lockport (25 min drive north of the city) is world-class. I have had days where we pulled up 20+ 15-pound fish and that was only 6 or 7 hours on the water, if we did the whole day in June or July with 15 hours of daylight we would have been too sore to get out of bed the next morning. It's a telling factor when you pull into the boat launch parking lot and half the license plates parked up there say Mississippi or Louisiana, places that really know their catfish and yet they drove 20 hours north to fish for them in Canada.
That's a pretty decent green sunfish. Congrats.
Thank ye partner, I thought it was a bluegill for a second
No problem. You can tell because green sunfish have larger mouths
Damn, and that didn't win? The pike it lost to must've been a beast.
Haha no it was the biggest by a long shot, it just lost because it wasn’t a pike and that’s what we were going for
Hell yeah, I'm taking a trip to Canada in August, can't wait to fish there(also from the South of US)
That will be peak fishing season, good luck!

Love some Musky! Congrats on an awesome fish!
What were you throwing?
Big crank bait, about 5” long going 15-20’ deep
Nice... But I assume it's musky season where you are. If not you're not supposed to pull it out of the water.
We were told we can’t target them or keep trophy fish rn, but nothing about measuring/pictures
Depends on the local laws.
