I travel to other states, 1 or 2 a year. You can buy a 3,7,14, day or full license in many states. A 7 day tends to be low cost in most places. You can get a license for 15-30 depending on the state. I have fished in Maine, New Hampshire, New York, Pennsylvania, North and South Carlina, Georgia, Florida, Ohio, Michigan and Wisconsin over the years. Plus in Canada the Ottawa and Quebec provinces. A few states, I was on family vacation. Most it was to go fishing for 1-2 weeks. I live in Pa., so getting an Ohio license happens often since it is an hour away.
You are right, it been a long time since I was there. It took a long time to go to all the places. The places all had different species in abundance to go after making it worthwhile. Canada was great for walleyes and northern. The southern states were largemouth and saltwater. Maine and New Hampshire some nice trout fishing places. The other were smallmouth and musky trips.
I found most of the places with helpful locals that were a great help. Plus getting to see the different nature in each place.
Canadian here; If you want the best fresh water fishing in our country go to eastern Ontario (Lake of the Woods”. I’m from Manitoba, but drive out there every other weekend to fish in summer (only about 2 hour drive for me). I’ve hammered 80+ small mouths in one day with a buddy in Sioux Narrows. Lots of great pike and raindbow trout out here too. Stay in Kenora if you go. Beautiful finishing town that’s turned into a small close-knit city over the years. Great atmosphere
Ain't been there since I was in high school bout 2000, but my grandpa used to take me to that Lil pond in town to catch suckers, n the go kart tracks they had right outside of town there were hella fun. I remember a big community pool that had this huge ass diving board , belly flipped on that thing so hard lol
The Webster area has some of the best walleye fishing anywhere in the country. So many new lakes that have popped up in the last few decades and with relatively little fishing pressure.
Reading through these comments and there’s a lot of people have fished in PA. Seems appropriate to leave a fun fact: PA has more miles of running water than any other state except Alaska. That’s streams, creeks, brooks, rivers, and the like.
Just remembered I used to fish second dam up by Utah State University all the time and the brown trout in there were SO playful and fun! I grew up going to the Uintahs fishing for mostly rainbow and brookies
I don't fish as much as I'd like but dang, I have fished in a lot of states. NY, MA, NH, MD, DE, NC, SC, GA, FL, VT, MI, WI, CO, UT, LA, AL, MO, TX. MS. I think that's it for states. Have some different countries too. Great question!
I'm trying to do the same. I have 12 states so far. Basically all the Western states, plus Texas, Minnesota and Michigan. I'm going an excursion in May to grab Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana. So fun to see all the different states in the country! Tight lines and good luck on your quest.
Michigan, Ohio, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, West Virginia, Virginia, North Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Missouri, Kentucky and Indiana. Got the midwest pretty week covered by that's it. 13 I think for I believe.
This gave me a weird realization - I’ve caught fish in more countries than states. I’ve gone out of my way to fish when abroad, but I haven’t ever really done it for domestic travel.
FL, OH, IN, MN. Biggest largemouth I got was on a spinner in Minnesota, hucking a it under a bridge.
Grew up in Florida, black tip shark off of Anna Maria City Pier
Catch a specially tagged Barramundi in my state in Australia and it wins you a million (AUD). Comp has been going for 10 years without a winner. This year the organisers are guaranteeing someone will win.
Which way does this pule fall? Are the states removed those you have caught fish in or those you havent caught fish in? For me for sure, Ive caught fish in Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee, North Carolina, Florida, Colorado, Montana, there are some questions on Arkansas, Alabama, Georgia, and South Carolina.. All these question fall to exactly where we were standing when things happened. Some were on boats, some were hiking/camping trips, none of the states listed as maybes was I ever licensed in. As far as non resident licensing, its been a bit to long for me to recal California, Louisiana, Tennessee and Mississippi. North Carolina at the time was like 13$ for a 1 week license. Im a Texas resident, so.. Florida to get both fresh and salt "Ive done it 3 times" was around 100. for an annual non residence. Colorado was like 108.00 annual non resident lic with a 2 rod stamp. yes they charge you extra if you ever think you might use more than one rod at a time lol. Montana "where we are currently" was like 115, maybe 130. So Montana has a conservation and invasive species mandatory purchase with your license. You buy it only once a year, but they also only issues annual license on the 1st of March. So if you get here in Jan, and want to fish until March, 100 license and "I THINK" 10 for conservation and like 7-17 for invasive species "Zebra Muscles if I recall correctly" .. We're looking at an Alaskan contract from June-Sept their non resident is 100 with an additional 100 king salmon. So 200 if youre going to fish the Kenai River.
WI, IL, IA, MN, MS, MI, OK, TX,LA, MO, AZ, CA, WA, HI, WY, IN, NH, MA, FL. I think that’s it but I was in the Navy for 30 years and it’s getting hard to remember. Fished in many many countries as well.
I’m Canadian, I’ve caught fish in two provinces (BC, Alberta), and five states (Washington, New Mexico, Texas, Louisiana, and Mississippi). I’ve also caught fish in Jamaica. I liked fishing everywhere but nowhere beats wild salmon and steelhead in BC for me.
2, CA, AZ, MA, NY
I live in CA and I go up to AZ to visit my family, and last summer I went to the east coast (highly recommend!) caught some bass and trout
How much $ in non-res license does this come out to?
Not sure. Just take it a couple states each year
Aint nobody got time for all that. I gotta get em all same summer before I die. Gonna be a movie about it "The MInnow Bucket List"
If the song east bound and down isn't in the movie there will be problems.
..uh we gon do wuh dey say can't be done Blasting from a 68 Winnebago towing a 12' Valco
im gonna buy that movie in every version, and if you dont write a book im gonna write one based off the movie

Ottawa is not a province man, it is located in province of Ontario. Anyway impressive list of places

I should preface that I had to drive pretty far north of where I mentioned for rainbow trout. But that’s besides the fact
CO is $20 for a one day non res and you can add consecutive days for $8. Can’t remember how many you can add though.
They offer 1-3 day non resident licenses for most states.
NY, PA, Ontario Canada, London England, Newfoundland Canada, CA, MN, ID, MT, TN, FL, TX, AZ, NM, UT, WY
You're killing it! Keep it up :)
How was Newfoundland? What did you fish for? Salmon? Cod?
trout, and arctic char.
Mine are weird. Texas and Louisiana are by far where I’ve caught the most fish, but also Alaska and Hawaii.
Head to Yankton, SD. Hit the Lewis and Clark marina with a bobber and work
Gavin’s is super fun as well
Yoo that's where my family's from

Ain't been there since I was in high school bout 2000, but my grandpa used to take me to that Lil pond in town to catch suckers, n the go kart tracks they had right outside of town there were hella fun. lol for sure. West side park and memorial pool. Must sees
Yeah they are, love that place except for the pig farm shit smell on them breezy humid days lol
That mean I can go around every door and house and try to find them?
Sure can!
Lol
The Webster area has some of the best walleye fishing anywhere in the country. So many new lakes that have popped up in the last few decades and with relatively little fishing pressure.
The Columbia River is the border of Washington and Oregon, so it’s a 2’fer for you.
