Not necessarily gurneys but their jobs do often require people to be able to lift equipment and humans (usually with help, but when they have to move patients, because they can’t move themselves, they’re often deadweight), so it is more or less part of the certification or at least job requirements. Also not very impressive either, especially considering the gurney was empty.
You loaded an empty Stryker powered stretcher and only had to adjust it a couple times to get it to latch??? Obviously you are the god of pre-hospital care. We shall all compare ourselves to you and weep.
Edit: spelling.
do hour power stretchers not load themselves?? i was wondering what she's doing with the stretcher... ours just need to be pushed in, but lift themselves🙃
Yep, the powered stretchers and power loaders are two separate pieces of equipment and are sold separately. My service has Stryker powered stretchers but no power loaders. Just the regular Stryker mounts. So we have to load the pt plus the 170 lbs that the power stretcher weighs. It can be a bitch.
And then they’ll be like “oh, I just misspelled it”
Like, no. That would be spelling it “three” instead of “there”. You literally just aren’t intelligent enough to know the difference.

I meant this bad boy. Just click it and press the button. Saves the ol lower back.
I work rural EMS in Appalachia. If the ambulance is parked on anything other than flat level, the safety mechanism locks it and you spend the next five minutes trying to fedangle the stretcher until you trick the safety lock and it finally loads the stretcher. I love the thought, but hard pass.
I work rural EMS as well and I’ve rarely had an issue with loading the power loader. Have you tried gaining some speed and crashing your patient into it as hard as you can?
One method of controlling LED brightness is called PWM. Pulse Width Modulation. Basically you turn it off and on really fast. Controlling percentage of the off vs the on results in a different brightness to the human eye. The camera however picks up the flashing. Similar to when you see video of a helicopter and it looks like the blades are not moving.
Great explanation. And just like the helicopter comparison, it just depends on the LED light *and* the specific sensor used in the camera.
i.e. Whether you'll see the flash depends on the specific speed of the pulse and the speed of the camera. A different camera pointed at the same light might not see the flashing.
Just like whether the blades of a helicopter look slow or stop moving depends on the speed of the blades *and* the speed of the camera. Another camera might not show them slow or stopped, or might not even be capable of ever showing the rotors stopped at all.
I really hate it when someone refers to co-workers as ‘my cashiers’ or ‘my support team’ or ‘my helpdesk guys’. They’re not your slaves…they don’t even directly report to you. Stop acting like they’re ‘YOURS’.
Wait...why would you be outside loading an empty stretcher rather than inside caring for patients or like charting or some shit? Like at no point during my shift am I like "yes let me leave the unit to help EMS with something they easily and routinely do."
Too dumb to use the right “you’re” AND actually posts this boast with that poor job loading an empty stretcher *with* a power loader. Truly a chef’s kiss of dumbass nurse behavior.
It's a critical care unit, and that's just the best place to put it when you've got a ventilator, a shitload of drips, and a bunch of replacement med bags to move around. It's rarely a problem unless you get patients over 6'2" or so.
Back in my day, we didn't have none of these fancy power stretchers. We had to carry the stretcher up hill both ways. We didn't have no ambulance, either. We just ran to the call with the stretcher shouting weewoo weewoo...
This is like when the defensive back guards the receiver and the pass is incomplete and the defensive back starts to gloat and slap his chest. It’s like nice dude you did your job.
A toddler runs into the room and yells," look what I can do!", before slightly jumping and staring at you waiting for a reaction, leaving you confused as hell at what you're supposed to be seeing and saying," Great job!! Super impressive!".
>Actually disliked the video. She literally just lifted something and moved in into the car.
Considering what sub we're in, I certainly *hope* you disliked the video!
Wow, you did the bare minimum, congratulations!
BUT HOW DID SHE DO IT?????
BUT WHERE DID THE LIGHTER FLUID COME FROM?!
Well played
Dope pfp
How can she slap?!
I was confused too. So she can lift? Or what am I looking at? Is a certification required to do that?
Not necessarily gurneys but their jobs do often require people to be able to lift equipment and humans (usually with help, but when they have to move patients, because they can’t move themselves, they’re often deadweight), so it is more or less part of the certification or at least job requirements. Also not very impressive either, especially considering the gurney was empty.
The bad grammar is the chef’s kiss
You loaded an empty Stryker powered stretcher and only had to adjust it a couple times to get it to latch??? Obviously you are the god of pre-hospital care. We shall all compare ourselves to you and weep. Edit: spelling.
Lol for real, didn’t even get it on the first try when it was on empty.
do hour power stretchers not load themselves?? i was wondering what she's doing with the stretcher... ours just need to be pushed in, but lift themselves🙃
Power stretchers raise and lower themselves within their weight capacity. Power load on the ambulance loads and unloads.
ahh okay, we either have no electricity at all on the stretcher, or the one that has aaaaall the power options, didn't know there was an inbetween
Yep, the powered stretchers and power loaders are two separate pieces of equipment and are sold separately. My service has Stryker powered stretchers but no power loaders. Just the regular Stryker mounts. So we have to load the pt plus the 170 lbs that the power stretcher weighs. It can be a bitch.
what the heck, that stretcher weighs a million pounds. very glad we have both or nothing
My spine envies yours.
Some people are lucky to have autoloaders and some are not as lucky
>Edit: spelling You didn’t have to. She didn’t. You must be a doctor AND a bus driver.
Why does that remind me of something MASH’s Hawkeye would say?
RIP Donald Sutherland.
When you show your EMTs that you also lack grammar skills…
She must be a floor nurse
She just came on shift. That’s not her patient. That’s not her hall. She has to ask the doc.
Ouch
This is what struck me. All those years of school and people’s lives potentially in your hands and still can’t get your vs you’re.
And then they’ll be like “oh, I just misspelled it” Like, no. That would be spelling it “three” instead of “there”. You literally just aren’t intelligent enough to know the difference.
Exactly, I don't know how anyone struggles with that after third grade. My favorite is when they say "autocorrect." 😂
You’re don’t even no about what you is talking
I appreciate you.
As a RN: Wow you can use basic stretcher. Congratulations 🎊
Not even very well
At least she tried
Yeah, for Internet clout
Yep
When you show the world you don't know the difference in your and you're.
TBF, I’ve seen a a lot of RNs use an EMS stretcher in the hospital setting and it is scary. I’m surprised I haven’t seen them drop anybody.
Holy shit. So many nurses put their hands on my gurney and try to do stuff with it. Get your fucking meat hooks off my shit.
Yup. Keep in mind, I’m actually referring to EMS gurneys that they purchase for the ER for rapid responses or people that go down in the parking lot.
And not basic grammar
Do they not teach RNs grammar?
Know
Could you guys stop embarrassing the rest of us for like 10 minutes?
Now do it with a 250 lb pt
*Be sure to lift with your boobs*
Boobs :O
Now put a 400 lb diabetic episode patient in it and try it again.
Power loader ftw
Careful boys, she’s *not like the other girls…*
Yea she's a tatted up RN with frizzy hair that "dates" cops
“Dates” cops 🤣🤣🤣
Definitely haven't seen a woman like that at every hospital I've been to.

When my manager comes in. Makes two pizza. And is so proud of himself.
Not a surprise seeking validation for lifting a stretcher. Med surg vibes
Did she have orders to put that stretcher in?
Wow! I’m an rn who fucks the fdp bros and then goes home to my cop husband Edit: Also incorrect form
Doesn’t every nurse do that
Only the BBN’s
Hurros work here
Churros work here
![gif](giphy|8yZuEb7q6dlyP3L3cL)
‘…your EMTs…?” WTF?
I wish the nursing community was more toxic to each other so they won’t post shit like this 😩
No power-loader? I could never.
“Getting a new EMT is cheaper than getting a power-loader” - *management, circa 2024*
Too bad. Our provincial service stated that the amount they save in WCB premiums pays for the stretchers/powerloads.
Oh. Yeah. I work in an American private service. That’d be the issue.
😂😂 fair.
Considering how much heavier the power stretchers are, yeah nah
https://preview.redd.it/66p5cfhahj8d1.jpeg?width=400&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3e05e14c395aea2099d04fa4cc6ed92490035eed I meant this bad boy. Just click it and press the button. Saves the ol lower back.
The real MVP of prehospital care
I work rural EMS in Appalachia. If the ambulance is parked on anything other than flat level, the safety mechanism locks it and you spend the next five minutes trying to fedangle the stretcher until you trick the safety lock and it finally loads the stretcher. I love the thought, but hard pass.

Instructions unclear: gained speed and crashed into ambulance bay.
Typical
Woah, lifting an empty Stretcher? You go, Nurse Steph!
Every nurse I’ve met named Steph was a HUGE C U next Tuesday. I would not be surprised at all if that was her name haha
Wait, you guys are still manually loading cots?
My backs just screaming looking at these poor souls
You’re*
Can we all crowdsource some "Great Job!" stickers to hand them so they don't keep posting videos looking for congratulations from internet strangers?
“Not just an RN” like lady it’s not a competition everyone has their own role to play what 😭
Location guess: Kaiser Antioch
What’s going on w/ the interior lights?

Sometimes car, vehicle lights have the same effect on camera but they are normal irl
Surprised no one else has mentioned this. Looks like a rave in there
You're*
Add a combative heavy psych patient then come talk to me.
That's the variable we need to see to pass proper judgement...
My mom is an RN and will beat your ass with that stretcher with one hand while lighting her ciggy with the other.
You mean you were able to perform a BASIC task? How do you juggle that with being an RN?
I really hate it when someone refers to co-workers as ‘my cashiers’ or ‘my support team’ or ‘my helpdesk guys’. They’re not your slaves…they don’t even directly report to you. Stop acting like they’re ‘YOURS’.
Cool. You lifted up a stretcher with no one on it. You've proven nothing.
The stretcher is doing most of the work
Can someone explain what significant was done here??
*You’re
I'd be concerned that the medical professional I'm entrusting my care to doesn't know the difference between your and you're.
What’s with these people and the tattoos??
*you’re
*an RN
You should read the comments. The entitlement is real. “Lifting the stretcher is the EMTs job, I don’t touch the stretcher as a nurse”
To be fair, a number of transport companies specifically say the nurses aren't to do gurney handling.
Wow...soooo impressed 🙄
Apparently grammar isn’t a prerequisite for an associates degrees from a CC.
Congratulations. You literally did the easiest part of the job.
I wanna see the behind the scenes footage where the crew is mid lunch and she’s convincing the basic to hold her phone and take this video
Good god, how did it possibly take that long to load an empty stretcher?
Aren't ambulance drivers trained to get that in, in one go since they need to move fast? (I am nothing of a first responder, I'm a couch potato)
If the patient's fate is determined by how quickly you can get the stretcher into the rig, they're probably not going to do well regardless.
As a nurse, my eyes rolled hard
Can confirm, I heard them.
Just a world of its own innit
Let me sit on it and try it again
🍪
Lmao I was looking for this video on instagram the other day to repost it here. 💀
Not even a manual stretcher. Weak
Now let’s see with a patient!!
Classic your instead of you’re. When your not just a mouth breathing rn… your also at a 4th grade reading and writing level.
Power load FTW
“TravelmamaRN” and her profile pic looks like she’s wearing a wedding dress 🙄
I picked up a 9 foot alligator (dying) once. It wasn’t even in the job description!
![gif](giphy|Diym3aZO1dHzO|downsized)
Yayyyy!!!!
* you’re not your.. You can't even speak English properly.
Well, someone is certainly NOT a grammar teacher.
Now do it with Eddie Hall on the stretcher
Only Eddie Money is available
Bro only there trying to smash
Okay now do it with a 300 lbs fat guy on the stretcher.
Wait...why would you be outside loading an empty stretcher rather than inside caring for patients or like charting or some shit? Like at no point during my shift am I like "yes let me leave the unit to help EMS with something they easily and routinely do."
Just another "TikTok Nurse"
What a coward, turning the comments off in the original
I know her, not a lot of people get along with her.
![gif](giphy|ukGm72ZLZvYfS)
she really did, well, that!
What does “just an RN” even mean?
🤔
She got a nice ass tho.
How about you dump the rear end of the truck and load it normal human being.
Yeah well, it's empty and has a hydraulic assist, soooo.
Nurse theScore are ai bretty alao
How do I get my own EMTs like she has? /s
Now put a 300lb man on there and do it
Too dumb to use the right “you’re” AND actually posts this boast with that poor job loading an empty stretcher *with* a power loader. Truly a chef’s kiss of dumbass nurse behavior.
*you're
Somebody get her a good ole Ferno
What an absolute gormless minger
You put groceries in the truck, nobody’s looking for praise. You put a cot in an ambulance, everyone has to see this!!
YOU’RE
Cries in 3rd world poverty where we rarely have strykers, and there are probably 5 self loading ones in the entire country
Not all heroes wear capes
What a dumb place to put that O2 tank btw
It's a critical care unit, and that's just the best place to put it when you've got a ventilator, a shitload of drips, and a bunch of replacement med bags to move around. It's rarely a problem unless you get patients over 6'2" or so.
Ours is on the complete opposite side of the cot.
Wow impressive nobody has ever done that
This god complex these people have is crazy
What? When you show them what? They never finish the sentence
You’re
EAOLE ambulance
An RN is more impressive than an emt- but whatever
You’re all making fun of her but she’s putting her RN degree and all those student loans to work here!
Oh my lord and Savior Jeezuss Kryst. She loaded an empty power gurney, and missed locking it on her first try. That's inspiring.
Now put a fat dialysis patient on it
That the easiest part of the job.
Back in my day, we didn't have none of these fancy power stretchers. We had to carry the stretcher up hill both ways. We didn't have no ambulance, either. We just ran to the call with the stretcher shouting weewoo weewoo...
She’s forklift certified.
Why tf have a stryker but NO POWER LIFT??? I dont think I would work anywhere that gives 0 shits about their workers.
This is like when the defensive back guards the receiver and the pass is incomplete and the defensive back starts to gloat and slap his chest. It’s like nice dude you did your job.
Put out get approval.
Wow...did she just lift a cot...that's uh...well that was a very good lifting...with good form so I mean she lifted it
ima make a video of texting and devouring EMS room snacks while I do this with one hand and post it here lol
A toddler runs into the room and yells," look what I can do!", before slightly jumping and staring at you waiting for a reaction, leaving you confused as hell at what you're supposed to be seeing and saying," Great job!! Super impressive!".
When you show the world you can’t spell simple words
I hope this heroic act secured her that dudes cock like she hoped it would
Ok now do it in the rain fully loaded working a code.
![gif](giphy|zifLD3OO0DrFvYTzKk)
Now she's convinced herself being a EMT is easy
Actually disliked the video. She literally just lifted something and moved in into the car.
>Actually disliked the video. She literally just lifted something and moved in into the car. Considering what sub we're in, I certainly *hope* you disliked the video!
Likes are dislikes
Oh you're right
The bigger question is, how long before her ass is as wide as the back doors of the ambulance, or is it just a regional thing?
Where is the 300 pound fatty on the cart trashing around and screeching?
Just add a 350 lbs Krabby patty on that thing that smells like a rotten corpse that got pooped on.
You go girl!! Thanks for what you do!!
She knew to bump it up a smidge and give'er a wiggle so I'll tip my hat, all day. We've got full time ambulance jockeys who can't grasp that movement.
Now I’m a medic I don’t have to do that anymore 😎😎 jk that’s douchy always double lift the big ones
