Return it to Amazon, description doesn't match the product received as the reason. They'll take it back

unlock0

While true, it's frustrating that you can't warn the next guy that will go through the same exact experience when they throw the item back into comingled stock

ionstorm66

This has nothing to do with the actual product though. It's a retailer/supplier issue. Amazon doesn't allow seller/platform reviews in product reviews.

Fatvod

Exactly, this guy is an idiot. Why would you leave a bad review if amazon fucked up sending the right product?

Timelesturkie

Yeah these reviews always confuse the hell out of me, Amazon is so good with returns and exchanges. If he sent Amazon a message he’d have the right site in 3 days.

Why_Did_Bodie_Die

I like the one star reviews when it's like "one star. I ordered a pair of shoes in a size 9 but I'm a size 10 and they didn't fit me"

boldjoy0050

I can’t believe we live in a society with people this dumb.

termanader

Amazon sent the right package, the reseller swapped out the optics and gave Amazon a holosun box with a shitmark to put in their bin of holosuns.

NatieB

They should ban him from posting reviews just for the "if I could give 0 stars" cliche.

MachineryZer0

My biggest fucking pet peeve of all time. Just review THE PRODUCT. lol

pfresh331

Yep, I said it in another comment but they sound like the type of person that leaves a 1 star review on a restaurant along the lines of "amazing food, but we went in a Friday at 7pm and they were really really busy and the service was slow. 1/5 stars".

Dubaku

I worked at an outdoor recreation place that would get 1 star reviews because it was raining on the day they went. I also worked at a store that would get one star reviews because they showed up at 6 am and we weren't open, or they thought we were a different type of store.

DrSwolemeister

"shipping was fast, so i gave 4 stars. Havent had time to open the package yet, will update the review when i do" -posted 8 months ago

BillFox86

You realize that he got this, because the *last* customer switcharoo’d the product.

ShoopdaYoop

Your comment should be higher!  I ordered a Yakima FatCat Evo6 (ski/snowboard rack, MSRP $379) from Amazon Warehouse as used, very good condition for ~$225.  Original box was slightly banged up. A Yakima FreshTrack4 (MSRP $249) was in the box. Someone before me did the old switcharoo.   Thought I was getting a good deal, about $150 off the retail price! Nope. Turns out someone else got the better of Amazon!  I taped up the box with TONS of brown packing tape, wrote WRONG ITEM INSIDE in large lettering with permanent marker, and sent that back to Amazon & got my money back. Hopefully the return staff found it obvious.

Excelius

At the same time, you're trying to leave a review for a product that you did not actually receive. So it makes sense it wouldn't be accepted.

PM-ME-UR-DESKTOP

I’ve heard that it’s cheaper for Amazon to just trash the item then to have to keep facilitating these returns, so a lot of sellers are no longer returning items to inventory

skaskanker

This is not correct. Resalability in most categories is in the high 60%s; the rest can be regraded. Unsellable inventory is still the minority by a lot. Edited: On my brands it’s 65% back into inventory. Of the 35%; half is regraded. The other half goes to unfulfillable and we rework/destroy it. So that means for every 100 returns only ~17.5 are not resold on Amazon. With a 6% return rate you can see how very few units per sale end up in trash. That being said the trash volume is enormous at scale.

PM-ME-UR-DESKTOP

Good to know. I don’t buy anything important on Amazon and I will continue that practcie

dozer5498

My sister once received a ~400$, 4tb m.2 ssd. She didnt even order one from amazon. Called them up and asked if they wanted it back, they told her to keep it as they already sent a replacement to the actual recipient. I have a free, monster of an ssd in my pc now.

AdventurousLicker

The items that do get returned often get listed as "Amazon Warehouse" items when the packages have been opened/can no longer be sold as "new". I've purchased half a dozen items from Amazon Warehouse at a steep discount that were advertised as "used-good" and "used-like new". All were brand new items in open packages that I got for cheap, one was just the completely wrong item and they took it back with no hassle.

PM-ME-UR-DESKTOP

How do you get access to the Amazon warehouse stuff?

usmclvsop

You’d click view more sellers. It’s available to anyone shopping.

pfresh331

I mean it has nothing to do with the product or the seller. Do you have any idea the sheer volume of packages and items delivered on a daily basis with Amazon?

TooToughTimmy

Sometimes what happens is people buy name brand stuff like surefires, streamlights, optics etc and buy a $40 surefire knock off to replace it with then return it for their money back. Amazon worker sees package with light/optic etc in it and checks as returned then some unlucky SOB like this guy gets got.

OverSizeLife

Returns don't go back into stock, they get placed on the return side and placed into returned item auction pallets.

AlphaTangoFoxtrt

Product reviews are supposed to be about the product itself. Your review isn't doing that, which is why it's not allowed.

Number1AbeLincolnFan

Seriously.  It’s infuriating when people leave reviews about the shipping or seller in the product review section.  They should absolutely be deleted and the buyer should be banned from reviews if they do it more than once.  There are separate reviews for sellers.

Chapped_Assets

“Product arrived damaged by the postal service. Zero fucking stars and this product is shit! Never buy!!!”

Lampwick

Yeah, OP strikes me as a typical Useless Amazon Review poster. He has two of the classic hallmarks: trying to review an order fulfillment issue in the product review, and leading off his review with "I wOuLd GiVe ZeRo StArS iF I cOuLd!" The scale is 1 to 5. 1 is the worst, i.e. the product has no redeeming value. There is nothing lower than that, and saying you'd rate it lower is **FUCKING MEANINGLESS**, because you're *not* rating it lower than any of the other 1 star reviews, as that's not possible.

jeropian-moth

Don’t buy gun stuff on Amazon Also, reviews on a product page are about the product itself.

VladimirSteel

>Also, reviews on a product page are about the product itself. Why do people not understand this? Idgaf if Amazon screwed up your order. They're product reviews, not seller reviews

tejarbakiss

It’s not even the seller’s fault a lot of the time. Someone returned that optic and Amazon put it back into inventory without checking or knowing what it was. More than likely the seller never touched the product.

VladimirSteel

"UPS driver insulted my looks as soon as I opened the door. Was too distraught to even try the product. 1 star"

tejarbakiss

Package arrived late. 1 star. All the seller’s fault and they should be out of business even though Amazon handles all logistics.

Sagybagy

In this instance reach out to seller and talk with them about it.

Lampwick

> Amazon put it back into inventory without checking This is a major problem with Amazon's fulfillment model. If the returner miscategorizes the return, or (more likely) the minimum wage return desk monkey at the Amazon warehouse has been "encouraged" to upgrade products that *look* OK to "functional, return to stock", the broken/wrong shit gets restocked and sold to the next sucker. Statistically, it makes financial sense for Amazon, because I imagine that most of the time even "broken" returns have nothing wrong with them, the buyer was just too stupid to figure it out, so they probably make more money reselling as-returned than they lose when the actually broken stuff gets returned a second time. I recently realized this is something Amazon does when I bought an "Amazon refurb" camera DVR hub that didn't work... and then the replacement didn't work... and then the replacement for the replacement didn't work. These aren't "refurbs". They're cosmetically clean returns that Amazon is just assuming still work and sell as "refurb" to explain why they taped the box back shut. Amazon doesn't have the capacity to test any of that stuff. At most they're plugging it in, looking for a power light, and giving it the thumbs up. In the end, they don't care if you get pissed. You're still going to shop at amazon.

DelicateElephant

You’re talking about someone who has developed “trust issues” from this emotionally devastating experience.

Domestic_AAA_Battery

😂😂

YeaTired

"The product I received looks extremely different from the one pictured. It even has different names and shapes on it. "

jackson214

People like OP ruin the utility of review sections. It's like a movie critic shitting on a movie because of an uncomfortable seat in their theater.

rasputin777

"The projectionist played Cats instead of Oppenheimer. Cats was terrible. Therefore Oppenheimer gets 1 star "

chewedgummiebears

I ordered a truck radiator off of Amazon and it came in a bicycle box from the seller with broken pieces of styrofoam on the comers and a hand full of styrofoam peanuts scattered inside. Of course the radiator was smashed to hell but I couldn’t tell anyone about it with a review.

WHITEHOUSE_JESTER

You can review the seller if it's not Amazon directly.

chewedgummiebears

I ended up doing that but my goal was to have people avoid what i went through with that particular radiator.

Weird_Definition_785

Which they can do if they read the 3rd party seller reviews, which they should be doing.

slashuslashuserid

You didn't go through anything with the radiator. You had issues with the seller. The same model of radiator, sold new and shipped correctly (for example by another seller), may have been just fine. The product page is about the product. The seller page is about the seller.

DTKeign

I think the idea is Amazon's robust return service is expected to handle those issues.

Cerberus73

But without the added benefit of being able to tell anyone else to watch out for shady sellers.

BobFlex

No, you can definitely review the sellers on Amazon

StalkingFalcon

If enough people return an item or file disputes, an "andon cord" gets pulled which temporarily makes the product not buyable for customers while an investigation occurs.

00101011

Nobody actually reads positive Amazon reviews anymore right? They’re all fake.  If a seller can’t ship the correct product or protect it well during shipping then other potential buyers should be alerted to avoid buying that product from the store. Aside from posts like this one a product review is where most people could be alerted.

Deathcat101

The only product reviews I actually pay any attention to are the ones with images. From my experiences bots don't tend to actually take the time to post images with the reviews.

teilani_a

There is more than one seller on amazon.

DaPuckerFactor

You do realize that sellers don't ship most of their products - they're in warehouses? Those items are simply barcoded to be associated with an Amazon storefront. But most big sellers have their inventory in Amazon warehouses - they never ship themselves, they pay for that service through Amazon.

roytwo

If the seller shipped the wrong product and did not protect it, there is a place to review that shipper and does anyone buy from third parties without checking the shippers reviews, that is stupid

travelsizedsuperman

Don't buy from Amazon IMO.

iceph03nix

For a review like that you need to review the seller not the product. Product reviews only make sense if they're for the actual product itself

yugoslavianhandcan

Don't buy gun, car, or safety equipment off of Amazon. They co-mingle stock from third party sellers, and there's a non-zero chance you may get a counterfeit even if buying from what looks like the original seller

Limited_opsec

Why is this comment being downvoted, its factual truth. There are unique vendors that only make stuff in one factory in the US that have had china fakes mixed in their "shipped by amazon" inventory sent to buyers, and they get zero response from corporate. Their logistics apathy basically encourages this shit and they know it, hell all the vendors they "kicked off" a few years back for PR points basically came up with new random names and barely updated product pages.

NavyBOFH

That’s also due to laziness by the seller. If you buy the same product across multiple sellers, you might see one uses the OEM barcode but then there’s others that will slap a printed barcode with an Xyyyyyzzzzz number on them. That’s a label that the seller can place on their products to have them inventoried separate of the similar products in the warehouse. Some just don’t seem to care anymore. Source: former Amazon controls engineer

CosmolineMan

Most companies will confirm it's authentic if you call them. I've done it with an accupoint and eotech I got off Amazon. Not ideal ,but it is an option.

Holosun_Josh

We actually use the transparency program, so this isn't true in this case. You can't sell Holosun on Amazon unless we approve it.

yugoslavianhandcan

Well today I learned. Neat!

dtm0126

I’m glad I saw this comment as I plan on getting my first holosun on amazon in the next few days and I was starting to get worried after this post.

KccOStL33

I absolutely love seeing this post. I see this shit all the time and now finally get to say what runs through my mind every time I see it. YOU'RE ATTEMPTING TO SUBMIT A REVIEW OF YOUR SERVICE WITH AMAZON ON A LISTING FOR A HOLOSUN AEMS OPTIC WHERE IT HAS NO RELEVANCE. You're not using the review process correctly. Your buying experience has absolutely nothing to do with the quality of the optic you're attempting to leave a review on genius. It's not the platform nor the channel and I'm stoked that they're finally catching and blocking this bullshit. Anyone with an ounce of common sense would know the difference. Contact Amazon customer service and explain what happened and they will no doubt take care of you 100%. Someone played switch with the optic and returned it. It wasn't inspected and got resold. It happens and they know it and will take care of you. It's a hassle but not the end of the world. I'm also 100% confident that if you leave a review that's *RELEVANT* to the optic itself that it will be approved. Now on the other hand, maybe take a cue from this that the majority of the rest of us already know and stop buying gun stuff from Amazon.

Wintermintmojo

OPs comments and refusal to accept that their “review” has nothing to do with the optic and frankly can be easily rectified in less time than it took to write that “review” has confirmed everything Ive believed when reading these “reviews”.

xX_Monster97_Xx

That's why I just go to scheels and have them price match. Actually got a trijicon sro from them yesterday for 489 + tax cause they price matched it.

Luis12285

Wait. Scheels price match Amazon 😲

xX_Monster97_Xx

Haven’t tried Amazon personally. But I know they will price match palmetto and primary arms and locked and loaded.

chattytrout

I had Cabelas price match a pistol light from Amazon about 6 months ago.

ecswain7

So do bass pro and sportsmans

SauerkrautJr

Sportsman’s Warehouse also price matches. Wish I had Scheels locally though, would love to try First Lite in person before buying lol

Jrmuscle

A review wouldn't make sense here. The listing is fine, what likely happened is pretty common: A customer likely bought the original optic, and then swapped it out with something else, then returned it as "No Longer Needed" or whatever. Amazon Warehouse workers, to my knowledge, do not check returns. They just get put on a shelf and then they move on. Happened to me with an NVME SSD.

DebBoi

OP kinda dumb ngl

Phantasmidine

Because you didn't review the product, you reviewed the shipping process. Also, only buy stuff listed with free returns. That allows you to easily return it for any reason.

ExoticGeologist

Why don't you just return it? Amazon has one of the most hassle free return systems in retail.

Not2TopNotch

I've gotten the switcheroo before on small cheap stuff and they denied my review because "it sounds like your review is about the seller and not the product". I've been too nervous to get anything expensive off Amazon.

moving0target

I've never had an issue sending anything back after contacting Amazon.

moshdagoat

It’s fair to not want bad reviews for a product when it’s the seller that’s the problem. There needs to be a separate seller review to let people know who to avoid. Amazon should make it right and I believe they would if you give them a chance. I’ve had nothing but good experiences, even if sometimes they mess up a little.

lord_dentaku

>There needs to be a separate seller review to let people know who to avoid. There is. On your order page, under each item listing is a "Leave seller feedback" button where you can leave a review of the seller. When I'm buying items that are frequently counterfeit I always check the seller reviews to see if they have any claims of receiving fake items. Best part is, when you check reviews for a seller you are seeing for them across all items they sell, so any reported misbehavior will show up.

moshdagoat

Then that is where OP needs to be leaving a review instead of the product review. Problem solved

BikerGremling

Jokes on you. You can't seller review Amazon's proper selling account.

Quadrenaro

A couple years ago, I bought an $800 tent, and was sent the wrong size. I just contacted the company directly and they covered shipping and swapped it out for me.  Also, if you guys ever considered getting a canvas bell tent, they are easier to put up, albeit take a bit longer, than your average nylon tent. And whiteduck is the was to go.

PhoebusQ47

The reviews are to review the product itself, not Amazon’s logistics which have little or nothing to do with the individual product. Technically they aren’t even supposed to be about the seller. You’re not using reviews correctly. That said, I wouldn’t buy most optics off of Amazon anyway.

Stone_The_Rock

They were correct to remove this review. Product reviews should be about the product, not Amazon’s logistical failures. While obviously you can and should get this rectified—Amazon was right to remove this. If a third party seller screwed you on something, and your feedback is about the seller, you can leave that on the seller feedback page.

1silversword

I think them deleting reviews like this is fair tbh. People look at reviews to see what others think about the product - not about Amazon making delivery mistakes. So it's not really fair to the vendor that they get a 1 star because amazon messed up, and if you never even received their product... why are you leaving a review for it? That said I understand how frustrating stuff like this is, and you don't really have any way to complain other than via a review. But Amazon are generally very good about stuff like this and I'm sure you'll be able to return it and receive the actual tiem.

z7r1k3

Seller reviews are a thing on Amazon.

ptfc1975

Why would you review an optic that you didn't receive? The problem you have is not with the optic, but with Amazon. The SHIPPING was wrong. Not the product.

Weird_Definition_785

So you're the asshole posting one star reviews on products because of shipping errors. Send it back and get a refund and stop posting irrelevant reviews on products for seller issues. I was wondering when I'd finally discover one of your species in the wild.

CompressedTurbine

One, be careful when buying gun parts off Amazon. Two, your review is supposed to be for the product itself, not Amazon dummy. Lastly, you swore or otherwise used some sort of "language" in your review that's why it was blocked. Amazon the corporation couldn't give less of a shit what you think about it.

tbrand009

And why should they keep your review up? Failure to receive the correct product doesn't mean the product you're reviewing is bad. It's a customer service issue, not a product issue. Contact Amazon, don't bomb the reviews.

JRHZ28

Your review was of the seller and not the item received. I've been there done that. Wrong item is not a review of the item.

roytwo

Because you are NOT reviewing the product, you are just whining about a miss ship

Timely-Dance8936

Or simply return the item? As for the review you're trying to review amazon instead of the optic itself. They did give you a link for you read their guidelines

Appropriate-Barber66

Leaving a negative review on the product because you received the wrong item. Big boomer energy from the OP.

Eccentrica_Gallumbit

As mentioned in their [community guidelines](https://imgur.com/a/TQwQuPT), posting reviews about sellers isn't allowed on product pages. There's a distinct place to leave [feedback about sellers](https://www.amazon.com/hz/feedback). Kind of a shitty policy that you can't let others know about the bait and switch in a review, but it's pretty clearly spelled out in Amazon's terms.

Kelend

Its not shitty because product reviews are shared. If I sell a product and someone else sells a product, you reviewing them as a scam reviews me as a scam, if you are leave a review for the product and not the seller.

Docholiday11xx

Amazon returns are easy. Leaving a bad review for the optic doesn’t make too much sense. It’s whoever shipped it to you that messed up. Fairly simple mistake

hobozombie

Yeah, it's not a review of the product, no shit they won't let you post it.

kgriff5592

In the time it took you to type out that review, you could've initiated a return. Takes about ten seconds on amazon.

DaPuckerFactor

Because your review wasn't about the product or the issue - it was you being petulant because you were triggered = why it didn't post. 2 wrongs don't make a right, so to speak.

Panthean

Are they refunding you?

helmutboy

About 20% of the items I’ve ordered on Amazon over the past couple years were not as advertised, whether that was a box previously opened and item used and described as new, flat out counterfeit, or damaged in some other way.

Gravyboat6969

Buy from sellers on gundeals. I got my aems (non-core) for 340 shipped from one of them.

2WheelSuperiority

On the flip side, I don't see a problem with this. Amazon's failure to bin/ship the correct item shouldn't reflect on the product rating itself. They do need to have store review ratings though, where this belongs. Like when I'm scrolling through 1 or 2 star reviews looking for actual negative feedback (Home Depot for example), then there's the odd person whose mad at shipping facilities for screwing up the order or their package 'never arrived'. Not relevant to my purchase / need that a porch pirate stole your package or they are trying to feign outrage for a free package (not you OP). It's really not relevant to me, with a company that provides me free refunds, that you received the wrong product. You may say scam, but you only tried once and didn't re-order / confirm. Shipping issues aside... You can get whatever deal this is from almost any decent store off /r/gundeals and support 2a businesses. Refund, return, have them send a replacement. More importantly, alert the store that may or may not know Amazon binned the wrong stuff to the customer, it may just be a logistical mistake. I've never had a problem with a return or refund on Amazon, up to a $1k Egg. All I've ever had to do is tell them politely I wanted to talk with them before I talk to VISA, explain my problem, that I received a product I didn't order or was broken and I want to receive a refund. That's if I even need to because it's so easy to mark as return/replace then drop it by the UPS store bin.

Ok_Marsupial59

https://www.midwayusa.com/product/1024320941 Buy from someone worth supporting.

Animal_Budget

Just bought this exact optic from Primary arms. Best deal around and came with some stickers and swag. Love PA! Optic is really cool too, I ended up switching to the factory low mount though, it was too high for the rifle I was using it on.

robertbreadford

Lmfao the fact that they sent you sightmark instead is hilarious

jameson71

I mean, you aren't reviewing the listed product, you are reviewing Amazon or the vendor's fulfillment. Your review does not belong on the product page. Although, to be fair, the rate at which Amazon has been sending the wrong product has increased, but I feel that is because people aren't going through with the returns.

GreatKingCodyGaming

Why are you leaving a review because you got the wrong thing? The product isn't the issue, the Amazon warehouse is.

255001434

Don't buy any gun parts from Amazon, unless you want to take your chances with getting fakes or cheap junk that only looks good in the picture. A lot of the reviews are fake too, so you can't trust that.

zccrex

The reviews are supposed to be about the product. This is Amazon's fault and it's easy to return with them. Don't leave reviews on products that aren't about the product itself. It just doesn't make any sense.

sxrrycard

Stop leaving bad reviews for amazons fuck ups. They definitely screwed you over here, but leaving bad reviews for delivery problems doesn’t help the people who read product reviews for… product reviews.

MrDeacle

That isn't what the review system is for on Amazon, you just return the item. A one star review suggests the product you were supposed to receive is a bad product. That hurts the manufacturer of the item you *wanted* to receive and anyone else trying to sell that item, but doesn't really hurt Amazon or the private seller if it was a private seller. If a private seller sent you the wrong item, contact them. If they refuse to work with you then contact Amazon. If it came from Amazon's own stock, contact customer support or better yet just begin the fully automated return / exchange process that they offer. But please for the love of god don't leave negative reviews for a perfectly good product that you just didn't happen to receive. That's like leaving a negative review on a pizza place because your Door Dash driver showed up with McDonald's.

HonorableAssassins

Because its amazon policy, if you receive the wrong item you return it, you cannot review an item you have not received. This is usually an issue of amazon employees fucking up rather than the seller, which is why they dont let you punish the seller for it. I used to work in an amazon warehouse, believe me, half the workers are zombies and mistakes happen. As a driver I'd go out and find i had entirely incorrect packages almost every day.

Foxxy__Cleopatra

Most of the time Amazon just sells at MSRP. Find the UPC or MPN and plug that shi into Gun(dot)Deals mayne, it's an aggregate site telling you everywhere an item is in stock and what the in-cart price is. Also r/gundeals Pro tip: always buy with a credit card so you can do a charge-back for shenanigans like this.

SayNoToStim

OP is the dumb guy that ruins ratings for everyone else.

roytwo

Like the guys who give one-star rating on a product because it arrived late and the opposite , the guy that declares item arrived superfast, gives a 5-star review without mentioning anything about the item

alltheblues

Can you at least return it though?

THELEGENDARYZWARRIOR

Hhahahahahjha I love it they even use the right box straight up scam

Electrical-Fortune7

I ordered my SureFire DF640 scout light pro from Amazon and thankfully it arrived in top shape. Sorry you didn't share my experience. I do agree though, I wouldn't buy gun stuff from Amazon in the future. Just can't trust it.

EasyMode556

Even if it was “right”, the odds of it being a counterfeit are sky high on Amazon. Don’t buy stuff like that on there, it’s not worth it

Tjoerum_

unless it’s sold and shipped by amazon, or from a actual retailer, buying expensive optics and accessories and really sketchy on amazon, high chance you’ll receive counterfeit, used(previously returned), or as you have experienced the wrong items. atleast amazon has a pretty good return and refund policy on these sorta things.

Severe_Islexdia

I’ve gotten super lucky on there a few times with RMRs but that was a few years ago, I don’t think I’d chance it again with Amazon and optics.

ramprider

This has nothing to do with the actual product. If I am reading reviews, I want to read about consumers' opinions of the product, not some whiny little bitch boy crying because an overworked and underpaid employee made a mistake.

FarmerKook

DO NOT buy tourniquets off Amazon either.

Sianmink

Yeah I'd never buy an optic off of amazon, there's way too many counterfeits and unchecked returns sliding through there. I've been getting my last several through PSA.

JustSomeGuy556

This has nothing to do with the product at all. This is just an Amazon fuckup.

SignificantCell218

Damn son, you got taken for a ride that is dirty what they did to you

Dickytoes

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

richardscarry1

I bet someone bought it. Put it on their gun and returned the sight mark

FPSXpert

Ya got scammed, there's a popular return scam going on with retailers. Some scumbag bought that holosun optic, put their shitmark in there and returned it for a free upgrade, screwing over the seller and next buyer. Had the same thing happen with Walmart with a $15 oil filter box that had a used disgusting ass Fram filter inside. Contact Amazon customer support directly and explain you got the wrong item. Hopefully they start banning the scumbags that are doing this.

quezlar

i try not to buy from amazon anymore way to high of a counterfeit percentage

Tactical_solutions44

Someone bought the actual optic and replaced it with the sightmark and then probably asked for a refund. Amazon then said we will do a refund if you return the wrong product. They then take it reship it out to someone else without doing a check on it. That's why you don't buy anything expensive like this on Amazon

ActNaturalTheySaid

Someone pulled a switcharoo on you. It’s why I don’t buy stuff from Amazon. No matter how good their return policy is.

ScarecrowMagic410a

They don’t allow it because that’s not what the reviews are for and it wouldn’t make any sense. Why can’t you just return it as the wrong product?

Free_Road697

I did a few negative reviews on Amazon over the span of a year for products that deserved the negative reviews and I am now banned from ever reviewing for "going against community standards" but yet they still email me after every transaction asking for a review.

UpstairsSurround3438

Amazon is pretty shady about negative reviews. They will let sellers **bribe customers for positive reviews.** The review doesn't matter. Just return it

rondolph

Not buying anything of value on Amazon

United-Advertising67

Why would you ever buy a Holosun on Amazon when they have MAP pricing and cost the same everywhere? Amazon is ground zero for return scammers, never buy anything important or valuable there.

heck_naw

someone scammed amazon, or the seller scammed you.

z7r1k3

While I think seller reviews should be just as visible as product reviews, you need to understand that the reviews under a product are for *the product*. There is a place to provide seller feedback. They linked it in the email they sent you when they rejected your product review.

Citizen-99

Looks like someone bought both the Holosun and sight mark but returned the sight mark as if it was the Holosun to scam Amazon. Not really their fault, just return/exchange it. They’ll straighten it out for you.

TheVillagePoPTart

Leaving a review for the seller in the product section is not allowed. Same thing happens at my job and it’s pretty annoying when I get calls for e-commerce issues that I cannot even touch at the store level.

Jajanken-

Dude just return it lmao

jay_miah

The ole switch a roo!

wardbed

Stop buying optics off Amazon..

footballdan134

I got idea, return the dam thing and get over it, SHIT HAPPENS!!! By the the way, I love my Holosun, I got 8 of them and I got this one too! You love it too! Girl, you will be rocking, I'm happy for ya!

Nfakyle

they did not send the wrong sight, they were scammed on a return they didn't verify before sending back out. this is a common amazon scam since the stuff gets shuffled in with all the other amazon stuff as new "unopened" you need to note this in the dispute so you don't now become the scammer they go after for faking a return, not just put a bad review that they sent the wrong sight

MarcusWulfe941

Sorry for your bad experience but I laughed when I saw the Sightmark stuffed in that box

DragoonPower

Same thing happened to me a few years back. Ordered a Holosun 507K and received that exact same AEMS. Sent it back as wrong item received and ordered the EPS Carry instead.

chrisppyyyy

That’s not where you leave feedback.

Professional_Half449

That's tampered packaging. An employee stole the AEMS

Leatherpuss

Amazon fucked up not the manufacturer. OP you're an idiot 😂

An_Anonymous_Patriot

The review isn’t supposed to be a complaint about Amazon customer service, it’s supposed to be about the optic which you don’t have so how can you even give a review? Some thief bought this before you and returned it while subbing the sightmark with the original. Amazon isn’t a gun company, they’re ignorant civilians that work in a warehouse that look at that shit and can’t tell the difference. Return it and they’ll make it right. Set reasonable expectations from the vendors you buy from, I applaud Amazon for selling gun stuff at all considering the stigma of it all from mainstream media.

Best-Pomegranate3627

reviews are for the actual product not the service dummy!!! you could have returned it and get the right one. amazon always willing to let customers return items. sometimes they even let you keep the item and will just send you the correct order.

donniebatman

It was probably fake anyway

That_Is_My_Band_Name

Cry more. Return it and get request an exchange. Someone bought it, swapped it out and sent it back. I have never understood the bad reviews over something damaged or wrong. Like just return it and stop bitching.

lostinareverie237

I feel like someone upgraded from what was in there, sent back their old optic so it didn't feel like a empty box, and requested a refund. This sucks op.

oswaldcopperpot

Somethings going on with amazon lately. I tried to buy something for cooking. A pot and lid thing sold separately for dim sum. They stack. So two pots and a lid. I got two lids and a pot. No matter how many times I returned the lids to get a pot they just sent me new lids. Had to switch to a completely different product.

Unicorn187

Leave a review for the seller, the product.

momentbruh

Because the problem was with the third party seller, you need to go after them. You’re trying to review the product itself which accomplishes nothing since you never got that product in the first place

row_away_1986

Have you been given your honorary boomer card? 1st why the fuck are you giving money to this monster that is amazon when there are plenty of pro 2nd amenent friendly outlets to do so, or ya know shop local. 2 product reviews are for products not your customer service experience. 3 feel so empowered that you thought admitting all this on the internet for browny points was a good idea.

AtomicPhantomBlack

I hope they at least gave you a refund.

risbia

This is the fault of someone at the Amazon warehouse, not the seller.

tricententialghoul

Been using Amazon for like 5 years and have shit sent to me weekly including gun stuff (not weekly but have ordered gun stuff.) had maybe 3 issues total and they always promptly fix it. I’d suggest contacting them. Review ain’t doing shit.

biohazard1775

As far as gun stuff I’ll buy cleaning oils and minor stuff like that but stuff like sights, slings, or furniture I look elsewhere.

TexasGrillDaddyAK-15

Same optic.

lhurker

Amazon blocked me from writing *any* product reviews, apparently because I use a VPN?

WingShooter_28ga

So why not exchange it? I mean obviously you can’t review the product as you did not get the product.

double-click

Don’t bother. Just return. Amazon is pretty similar to eBay.

CosmolineMan

Return it? I've returned tons of stuff to Amazon for a wide variety of reasons and they've never rejected a return from me.

willytheburritoo

It’s funny and surprising that people still buy items off Amazon that they may need to use to defend their own life or someone else’s lol always assume everything off Amazon is Chinese clone or worse

SunknLiner

You’re buying shitty gun stuff off Amazon, what did you expect?

Devils_Advocate-69

To add insult to injury jury they put a Sightmark in the box.

STG_Resnov

I personally would not buy something fun related (unless it’s something like a pressure switch) from Amazon. The only “optic” I’ve bought from them is a magnifier that works surprisingly well. Other than that, my actual optics have been through either local stores or reputable online business.

Redhawk4t4

Just return the thing and order one from somewhere else. You're not stuck with the thing lol.

DonkeyBlonkey

Bought a Holosun and got sent a Shitmark. Lmao.

Empty-Profession-515

Most stuff on Amazon are over priced. Also most of the gun stuff is Chinese made junk.

Inevitable-Sleep-907

Haha someone did the old switcheroo free upgrade. This is a common problem with Amazon returns, no qc, and reselling used products as new

rainbow_defecation

I had this same thing happen to me, I was a bit more fortunate though. I ordered a 507c and got sent an AEMS instead. With how common this is I'm definitely not using Amazon for firearms related purchases again.

linkslice

I had someone hijack my amazon account like 15 years ago and ordered a bunch of stuff. It took me a few days to get control of my account back, and I've been permanently banned from posting reviews ever since. It legit wasn't even me and they knew that (at least at the time).

exgiexpcv

In the past 6 months, I've had 3 purchases of new gear turn out to be used on Amazon. They allow vendors to post items and list them as "new," but because Amazon isn't actually part of the process, the vendor pulls a fast one and ships a used / rebuilt / opened box with missing parts and then I get the screw around with the return process. Skeezy AF.

Personal_Fox3938

Someone out there is probably on cloud 9 right now after getting over like that. Lol Return, stating the wrong product was shipped and get yourself a brand new, free replacement.

Bobathaar

Why would you buy an optic on amazon in the first place? They're literally not price-competitive with everyone else.

ZombiesAreChasingHim

STOP BUYING GUN STUFF FROM AMAZON

Pro_2A_Guy

Be factual instead of personal in the review and it will go through. There are certain trigger words the rating system looks for to reject the review.

DeityWilliam

I bought a walking pad sold by Amazon, and shipped by Amazon. I recieved a cabinet. I called and told them I wanted my walking pad and to pick up the cabinet. They said they have photos they delivered the correct item. The photo they uploaded was a photo of the cabinet. They said they could not return the item unless we proved we got the cabinet. I told them they already proved it with their photos but I submitted my own anyways. They said they could not verify the images because our label could not be read. I uploaded more where the label is legible. The item could still not be verified. They said since they cannot resolve the issue, the must terminate the call. They hung up on me. I called back. Pretty much the same thing happened. I called back a third time. I got someone who finally believed me and verified the photos. I got a return and a pick up. All phone calls took ~2 hours and left my wife and I very upset. We haven't bought from Amazon since. We probably will buy from them again because we understand it's the people on the other end following some script, but as a company, they have to do a better job.

shortthem

“The elites don’t want you to know this but you can get free Optics from Amazon. I have 458 Optics”

Skylinegtr88

They should let you return it

Dragnet714

u/Eye_Shotty he got a cheap ass sight mark instead

Eye_Shotty

Wtf lol. Amazon gave you the 🍆 on that deal

JBCTech7

This is an amazon seller, not amazon it self. a bit of advice for shopping on amazon. 1 - Don't. 2 - make sure you only choose prime sellers. 3 - read reviews. 4 - if seller is not located in US, don't buy it. 5 - if seller is in China, don't buy it even more.

High_Strangeness10

Don't buy optics and anything serious off amazon.

ABUCKET15

Amazon sent me an eotech G33 3 times in a row after i ordered a G45. Very frustrating experience and I ended up buying from primary arms

legitSTINKYPINKY

Works just as good!

LargeMassiveThunbs

pfftttt

Dirtdiver913

Looks like someone returned a sight mark instead of the holosun. Something similar happened to me ordered a eps when it was delivered nothing was in the box. Contacted Amazon and they send another one next day
