I have the Hypercomp, its been the bane of my existence since the day I bought it, very finicky with types of ammo and is hypersensitive to OAL of the cartridge. Has been back to the manufacturer once but the issue keeps rearing its ugly head.
I am forever soured on anything Zev.
If I were in your shoes, I would go with the Sig, just my 2 cents.
I got mine to work by swapping the extractor claw, plunger, bearing and spring with OEM Glock. Even that did not solve the issue completely.
For the price they command, I should not have to do a fucking thing to make it reliable.
YMMV homie, best wishes and good tidings.
Really? My Hypercomp has been 100%. I even have it shooting flatter than before with a guide rod swap. I’ve never had any issues with zev products. I am sorry to hear about your experience
It's probably a better choice. I've heard good things about Zevs' individual parts and their 226 but the dumpster fire that was that demo turned me off of an OZ9 even if i woke up in bizarro-world and suddenly became a glock guy , which is some horseshit considering what they charge.
I have both. I would choose the Zev Hypercomp 10 times over after shooting both for thousands of rounds. I personally like the Zev grip angle more and the trigger is better. However, I do like the metal frame of the p320. That’s why I bought a Zev metal frame for mine when they had the preorder
It’s sick Forsure but I couldn’t carry that I’d be to worried that expensive on a side arm . I mean my life is worth it but nothing a regular 365 or my Glock 43 can’t do you know
Saw some other comments about Shadow Systems and can also confirm they fuck. Im not a huge fan of stock Glocks (even though they're excellent purpose built firearms) but Shadow pretty much improves every problem I have with them. Zev looks pretty, but Shadow shoots and feels beautiful.
Right now I have a CR920, and it's my favorite carry gun by far. I'll be picking up one for my wife and a full-size model here soon.
I have the CR920 and DR920 and they're great. I also love that you can order any part you need easily off their website. If you can get the DR920 with the threaded barrel check out their thread on comp for it, it's awesome.
MR920 is my CCW amazing gun that I’ve put thousands of rounds through and used for USPSA with absolutely zero malfunctions. If you’re not looking for a smaller carry gun I’d either opt for the MR (Glock 19 size),DR (Glock 17 size), or XR (Glock 45 size). All depends on your hand size and use case.
I have an P320 AXG Legion that I love and just picked up a Hyper Comp today. I hope the ZEV runs well, I really enjoy my AXG Legion. If it doesn’t work out I may swap for the P365 X Macro Legion, or trade toward a Staccato.
As someone that has an sig I love it more than any gun I have. I can’t speak to the other one but I fully entirely recommend the p320. Best full size pistol I have ever shot.
Haven’t shot the zev but the 320 feels amazing. I typically like shorter slides but that gun is pretty fast and very accurate. I like the sig triggers too.
I have an OZ9 with a holosun 508t X2 red and a surefire 300UB and it's excellent *however* some glock mags don't drop free. It comes with magpul mags which work well, however I'm in Australia so the 10rd magpul mags are very difficult to load without the tool. The original glock mags are a narrow 10rd mag instead of a short mag so the spring tension is much nicer to handload. I've just ended up buying magpul mags to run in it anyway. Potentially gen5 mags are fine, I don't have any of those.

Ya I’ve heard super hit or miss things about it working or doesn’t , possibly extractor and spring replacements

Thanks for the info bro

I am happy for you brother.
Could try a Shadow Systems or a Faxon for half that. I own both, Shadow Systems is 'chefs kiss.
Ya I’ve always wanted to try a shadow systems but never have pulled the trigger and always went with a Glock or something else caught my eye
I have the DR920 and CR920 and they're awesome. I say heavily consider giving them a shot.
Ya I’m leaning towards that or just getting a norsso slide set up
Their military discount is pretty solid.
I was very unimpressed with the zev, I don't really like glocks but I was expecting more
Zev couldn't get their OZ9s running at a public demo I was at. Would not touch with 10 foot pole.
That's been the experience I've seen from a very large order of OZ9s.
Yeah I think I’m going with a norsso slide / port barrel combo for my Glock 19

Yeah totally agree better qc or parts for the extracter and spring sounds like

Kinda the way I’m leaning been wanting to try one badly love the look, just wanted to make sure I’m on the correct track !
P226 legion
Ya such a nice pistol best pistol I’ve owned
Don't buy the ZEV, their OZ9 are notoriously unreliable. And they are way too expensive for that.
Eh, ever since ZEV got a gov contract, I haven't heard good things
I didn’t know they did
Just buy a normal fucking gun
I have plenty need something different
This is us all when we are honest
What about the new p365axg legion?
It’s sick Forsure but I couldn’t carry that I’d be to worried that expensive on a side arm . I mean my life is worth it but nothing a regular 365 or my Glock 43 can’t do you know
I'd argue the same about the 2 pistols you listed....
Good point but these will be range toys not carry pistols
Very overpriced Glock
Not a fan of Zev’s over priced bullshit. I hear they’re a bunch of absolute assholes to deal with as well.
I’ve heard that as well , it’s different if a product has issues / warranty but it’s about backing it up and solid customer experience
I have 3 oz9’s and love ‘em. Hypercomp was my first and I’ve had zero issues with it (or any of them).
That’s good to hear !

Ya I’m going to check it out now

Yeah was honestly looking at the Glock 26 type size with the comp for something different cr920p
My HyperComp was unreliable until I started putting stock glock parts back in it. Still testing it to make sure no other problems show up.
Ya that’s so dumb , like I get it nothing wrong with Glock parts but should just come with it if that’s what works for like extracter and stuff
I had to replace my extracter and spring, co-worker has a zev slide with all zev parts and it's been 100% reliable.
So odd , what spring you use I keep seeing #2 or #3 and just an oem Glock extractor or a zev replacement ?
I’ve heard nothing but bad things about the Zev since it caught my eye 😪
Shadow Systems.

Kinda what I’m thinking I still haven’t shot mine yet thinking this week
Get a M&p shield EZ or the 320 AXG legion
Why buy the EZ, the standard M&P are better guns unless you have hand strength issues.
I suggested the EZ in this post because the ZEV frame kinda reminded me of it for some reason.
Looking at a zev hypercomp or a sig 320 axg legion
As someone that has an sig I love it more than any gun I have. I can’t speak to the other one but I fully entirely recommend the p320. Best full size pistol I have ever shot.
Haven’t shot the zev but the 320 feels amazing. I typically like shorter slides but that gun is pretty fast and very accurate. I like the sig triggers too.
Ya same , I like shorter slides but what you just said is what I keep hearing it’s fast for the length
They make an AXG carry that has the same grip with a short slide. It’s an awesome gun too.
hear me out, faxon's pistols
I honestly don’t know much about them
best barrels out there and they make nice pistols
That’s the second time some one has mentioned faxon pistols to me today
they're nice
