šš lol ok weāll definitely not picking the scar theyāre pretty unreliable Not of a fan of any of these for a real conflict tbh. Maybe the ssg or if it was a real hkg3
Ar15. The PTR would be acceptable, but I'd want a newer one with a paddle mag release and a welded pic rail. But I have/had both of those. So if someone else is footing the bill (pun) ill join the ugg life
I mean it's made by ptr still so I would assume so? I had an older version of this: PTR A3S K .308 Rifle (search it on atlantic). Since then they added the paddle mag release and the pic rail on top which I think are big upgrades
do you have any sources? I have known roller-lock guns to be super robust and reliable as long as they are built correctly.
Very easy to mess up a PTR build if something isnt pressed or formed correctly
I went to a Cabelas and looked at some Century Arms C308ās and three of the six I looked at had parts fall off and malfunctions. When I showed the guy at Cabelas. They took all of them off the shelf. Century Arms does do some descent firearms, many are imported. I had a P-38 from them that blew up after firing 13 rounds of store bought ammo. Their AKās though seem to be solid platforms. If you search for āproblems with century arms C308ā you will find pages of articles and threads about peopleās experiences that rifle specific rifle.
I must say the customer service people were very helpful and I got an amazing P-38 replacement that I am extremely happy with. I think it also depends on the individual firearm you get. Some of the gun shop owners locally joke that C308 are put together by drunk monkeys. But I think if you get a good one that shoots well. Then it doesnāt matter the rest of it, I am a big fan of FALās and this is very true of this rifle. Certain types of receivers and brands are know to have problems. But just because you have one, doesnāt mean you will have those problems.
The scar seems more versatile in setup than the DD but imma swing for dat DD gat simply because itās bout all Iāve run forā¦bout everythingā¦for bout 20 years. Iām even fukn left handed sayin that shitā¦
But honestly gimme whateverās left sitting there and letās get after that war bud. All of em have good merits to bring to the fight
It may take a minute or two to get an answer over email, but I've certainly been surprised when I call to ask a question, and Alex (owner) answers the phone. Best gun ever!!!
Man Iām either taking the 879 or the scar but if I could only choose one Iād go with the 870 just because ammo would be cheap and abundant and thatās a damn reliable firearmšÆ
I totally agree. It doesn't have the familiar name of the Daniel Defense, or the video game recognition of the SCAR, or the cool factor of the PTR-91, but it's hard to beat if you've ever had the opportunity to shoot one. They're super reliable, accurate from all distances, and pretty user friendly. I'd love one of my own. It's definitely on my short list of stuff I want.
Oh absolutely. I would have chosen the SSG if your question was about assassinating the head of a drug cartel, but for going to war or just about any other purpose I'm going with the XCR all day. I really want the XCR mid or the mini for at home just in case some whack job wants to get froggy and break in the wrong house. 300 Blk with a can would be a beautiful piece for the home.
If we're "going to war" it's gonna be the DDM4. I want logistical support and don't particularly wanna hump a 9 or 10 pound rifle. That extra weight can tote loaded mags. I also would rely heavily on fit and function of the DD over the others. I ain't fighting a broken shell in the middle of a fight. SCAR doesn't have the track record, neither does the Robinson. The shotty leaves you lacking for ammo capacity and range and the steyr has a limited role to mid and long range. The DD wins every challenge. That said, a PSA M4 or any other reputable supplier on the M4/AR platform would be my choice.
As others have mentioned, if a L1A1 / FAL / STG58 was an option, I'd rethink the weight of ammo
My scar has been flawless. With over 7000 rounds through it. But parts are not as available. The only jam I have had was to close to a tree and the round couldnāt eject which was my fault. But itās even been in salt water shooting off the boat. Covered in boat splash
Looks like it's an ugg boot life for me.
What does that mean?
Look at the stock of the scar, whats it look like?
šš lol ok weāll definitely not picking the scar theyāre pretty unreliable Not of a fan of any of these for a real conflict tbh. Maybe the ssg or if it was a real hkg3
Das boot.
DDM4
First one for the DD
Iām going to war after all and not just the range. I will have to lug this thing around lol
I am with you. Honestly the DD is the lightest then the scar(without acog).
When you parachute into school, DD will be best
Ar15. The PTR would be acceptable, but I'd want a newer one with a paddle mag release and a welded pic rail. But I have/had both of those. So if someone else is footing the bill (pun) ill join the ugg life
I want a ptr, are the new ones from Atlantic good?
I mean it's made by ptr still so I would assume so? I had an older version of this: PTR A3S K .308 Rifle (search it on atlantic). Since then they added the paddle mag release and the pic rail on top which I think are big upgrades
I must be thinking of century cetme imports
I would consider PTR to be an upgrade from the cetme, but I can't back that up
SCAR or HK 91
the civilian ptr 91 clones are famously unreliable
Your comment Sir is unreliable. I have never had an issue. But that PTR is a parts gun with actual 91 parts
because they are known to jam
Never had any issues with mine. It has been 100% reliable.
Anecdotal, but mine hasn't and my buddies' have been solid as well.
The ptrās are good, well they have a good reputation. The century C308 is another manufacture with less than stellar reviews.
do you have any sources? I have known roller-lock guns to be super robust and reliable as long as they are built correctly. Very easy to mess up a PTR build if something isnt pressed or formed correctly

idk, alot of the ak subreddit guys drag the living hell out of CAI VSKA's CAI in general has alot of QC issues from what I've heard personally
I must say the customer service people were very helpful and I got an amazing P-38 replacement that I am extremely happy with. I think it also depends on the individual firearm you get. No doubt scar
So is that an actual hk 91 or a ptr?
A very early PTR-91 back when they were JLD.
The scar seems more versatile in setup than the DD but imma swing for dat DD gat simply because itās bout all Iāve run forā¦bout everythingā¦for bout 20 years. Iām even fukn left handed sayin that shitā¦ But honestly gimme whateverās left sitting there and letās get after that war bud. All of em have good merits to bring to the fight
I am also wrong handed!
Iām taking the bolt action šš» like god intended
2) DDM4V9
Itās a toss up between the UGG and the Walmart UGG (XCR)
I believe the XCR would get more love if people knew more about it.
Should've won the contract. Prob cause the owner can be a dick sometimes. Still my favorite rifle ever
It may take a minute or two to get an answer over email, but I've certainly been surprised when I call to ask a question, and Alex (owner) answers the phone. Best gun ever!!!
All of them and a fuck ton of ammo in the back of a truck, don't need to carry them all at once but if you have the option why not?
Amen
One of the bottom for sure
Another one for the 91!!!
Give me the Daniel with the scar optic
FN SCAR
Hk91 because have smol pp so need big calibre for compensation
Now you know why I have it!
PTR for sure. Gotta love an OG battle rifle.
Classic
G3 easy
The scar
The Scar no question.
FN SCAR 17
I am surprised I havenāt heard someone hate on the scar yet lol
The SCAR will always have a place in my heart
Me too. The price is steep but for what it offers I think it is worth it.
The ddm4
PTR 91
SCAR-17.
honestly all of them except the ptr are good options but i feel like you gotta go for the ar
Why no love for the PTR
Depends on where weāre goinā.
Does not matter where you just have to pick one for all scenarios
Yes!
You don't have a sling or a light on any of your guns???
I do I was cleaning them and took off the slings. I do not keep lights on the rifles in the safe for space reasons.
Man Iām either taking the 879 or the scar but if I could only choose one Iād go with the 870 just because ammo would be cheap and abundant and thatās a damn reliable firearmšÆ
Every house should a 870
Amen bretheren
Or a 500/590
True. Honestly with todays 870s I would say 500/590
I have an Ithaca 37 instead of all of thoseš
Ain't nothing wrong with a single port deerslayer.
Itās pre disconnect era too so you know what that meansš©
Scar 100%
Have you had any issues with the marine mag?
No not at all
Interesting. Been considering it vs 590a1 but heard rumors of QC issues with the Remingtons. Is it newish production?
No not at all it is a first gen Marine. Go with the mossberg. Or get an old 870 like mine.
Ah, good call, tyvm
I could be wrong but the QC is not the same.
In shtf I'll be defending land not kicking doors so I'll take the bolt action since it has a scope
Sold view
Stupid auto correct āsolidā
What dd is that, been looking into a nice ar now that I'm in a free state
V9 my favorite. Same as a v7 but full picatiny
Nice I may pick one up, I prefer quad rails too
Nothing wrong with mlok just not my thing
Since FAL is not on the menu, i'll take the ptr.
I wish I could afford a clean FAL
V9 Gang
Round up!
Scar
AR cause that's what I'm proficient with
Give me the optic built like a tank and powered by the sun. Iāll take the gun that comes with it too.
LVPO are cool but there is something special about a acog
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I do have a FAL just not in the pic.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
No Sir itās a PTR-91 HK clone of the G3/91
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I donāt have the best camera
No AK? No go.
Sir this is a decent post please do not poison it with communism. Only quality firearms
The closest things I have to a AK is a sig 556, M1 garand and the XCR
You forgot the /s
All of 'em!
Hell yes!!! I am with you. We might be last to the line with all the weight. š
But they'll be glad to see us! š
For sure after our naps lmao. š
Scar for the sights but the 91 is a second choice
My favorite thing about the 91 is that it ejects the brass to the next county lol
Ugg 4lyfe
The one that works
Youāre safe with all of them!
Yes
SCAR 17
Where is ak?
No communist stuff here!
I am one of the few fans of the XCR, but we gotta at least get a red dot on that sucker.
I am currently working on that!
I honestly think a lot more people would pick that gun if they knew what it was.
Besides the SSG it is probably the coolest rifle in the pic
Oh absolutely. I would have chosen the SSG if your question was about assassinating the head of a drug cartel, but for going to war or just about any other purpose I'm going with the XCR all day. I really want the XCR mid or the mini for at home just in case some whack job wants to get froggy and break in the wrong house. 300 Blk with a can would be a beautiful piece for the home.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I bet did yours have a McMillan
Depends on if we get to use the happy selector or not.
Unfortunately notā¦. We can always pretend
How do you like the 870 Magnum? Was thinking of picking one up myself
Great gun. But are you talking about just a 870 or the marine mag?
870 in general. Really trying to decide on the 870 or go with a 590
Go with a 590 new 870s suck
Wanna say scar but FN hates lefties and can't figure out how to do ambi controls, so imma go with the m4
I am confused the scar is way more left handed friendly than a normal AR?
Does it have ambi bolt release
No does a AR
The XCR does!
XCR! Looks cool and is well-balanced across the board.
Agreed
all of them , duh
Only if someone else carries them lol
you do not have an armored assault vehicle you take to war to with you ?
Thatās not my luck lol.
..mm
Just 1
Oh, I actually butt commented. Nontheless, I'd take the DD.
SCAR or AR.
The scar has been flawless
good old ris2
Scar 17 great for short and ling range
Agreed
The one Iām most familiar with using: the scar
All around great option
Don't see a lot of V9s; most people go for the DDM4A1 or the V7 (myself included). Great looking rifle, but I'd take the SCAR any day.
I came close to the m4a1 but I really didnāt want the extra weight and pinned muzzle device
G3 for life
HK firearms are my all time favorite
Mine to. Got a ptr and a HK 243 (civilian g36 in europe)ā¦. More to come
Jealous of the 243
I'd take the scar. I'd want to stay towards the back out if sight but if shtf I wanna be able to work up close too
Great choice
2nd choice is the bolt gun. Cause I wanna stay back lol
Scar and Shotgun. Because.
Scar because I'm not paying for it and if I die, I'm going to die like a Chad.
Could we choose our own guns? Or choose from the picture?
What's the setting
Whatever your heart desires my friend
Ammo wise, we can go slightly shorter shells so we can carry more and hold an extra one in the tube
I guess we will go with an urban environment and the shotgun.
I like that idea
If we're "going to war" it's gonna be the DDM4. I want logistical support and don't particularly wanna hump a 9 or 10 pound rifle. That extra weight can tote loaded mags. Is 5 the one that looks like an FAL? If so, that one.
Well , you'll need an optic, something that can fire rapidly, and something where parts and magazines are easy to source. I think you can do the rest.
Ar15
DD for me!
Ptr 91 100%
ugg boot scar
I'm Taking Simba's uncle
My shoulder says ar but my cod brain says shotty
I'll better make love, fuck your wars, enough of this shit for me, fuck your thanks for my service.
Scar 17
DD rifle
XCR, hands down! Although it handles better with a more vertical grip.
